Playing dragon age origins for the first time, which origin should I choose and why?

The dwarf noble one is fucking great

And it's one of the most boring origins. Only Dalish elf and Circle of Magi were more forgettable.

dwarf noble and mage are my personal favorites

Objectively best is Dwarf Noble in how it's best integrated with roleplaying elements later on; other backgrounds have you become Generic MC once the origin sequence is done. The only catch is that you're stuck playing as a manlet for the next 30-40 hours.

Human Noble is second best because you get to use doggo in some funny scenes before he becomes irrelevant and you get a real nice sword and board very early. Couslands also get to marry and fuck the big bad guy's daughter if you play your cards right

City Elf is next best for fetish purposes

Mage is top tier because mages are broken and being able to craft one from level 1 is even more ridiculous as you can get gamebreaking spell combo before the tutorial even finishes. Only downside is a required spider ambush section where every enemy can instakill you with Overwhelm on higher difficulties if you let them get in melee range

Shoutout to Dalish Elf for being boring AND irrelevant at all stages of the game

Her thick accent is a real turn on but her line delivery falls flat/is inappropriate occasionally whereas Morrigan's VA knocks it out of the park with every single line

I think her character is actually really compelling. She pretends like she's on a holy mission even though she has violent delights, and I think they intended for there to be something incredibly rotten at the core of Leliana that she hides behind this 'virgin girl' routine but it never really comes into play. The ghost at the Ashes of Andraste exposes her as a thot that invented her Vision from the Maker as a ploy to get attention, but that reveal never goes anywhere and that's about as dark as her story gets. Her hardening quest has the right idea of stripping the false prophet bullshit away and indulging in her darker desires again but instead of making Leliana the villain that you have to convince to stay on the straight and narrow, they make her the victim to Marjolaine. Massive wasted potential imo

If you really want an opinion though its human noble because his backstory ties into the main story more satisfyingly than anyones

Am I the only one that found it very odd how well done the spiders were? Bioware animations and sound effects are notoriously janky and low quality but the giant spiders are spot fucking on

There's a lot of content that was put through with a very low amount of quality control but for some fucking reason they thought it was a good idea to make the goddamn spiders a high priority during development
