Removed Knives

>Removed Knives
>Removed Attack/Guard Stasnce (mind you guard stance needed nerfs)
>Removed skill procs, only one left is Lethality
>Removed Tomes
>65% of the game is a slice of life kawaii anime desu nyaaah
>90% of maps are rout/defeat boss
>(you) are, yet again, the protagonist; only this time, (you) have no dialog
It's not the best in the series. It has the best production value (animations/Voicework), but the actual game isn't stellar.

I haven entered this thread to type this post and tell you dear user that you are incorrect.

Best writing too
It introduced some new things, replaced attack and guard stance with adjutants
tomes are just learnable skills but have severely gimped uses a lot of the time
I think there were some other skill procs, aren't there?
Batallions and beasts are cool additions.
The game needs some polish but I don't think the core mechanics are bad.
Just need to make good maps and missions

>replaced attack and guard stance with adjutants
Adjutants are by far the worst version of pair up
even worse than awakening.
>tomes have severely gimped use
That's the point, the series has typically had a big emphasis on resource management. Magic is broken in 3H because its "weapon charges" regenerate after battles.
>other skill procs
I can't think of any.
>Battalions and beasts
I like beasts, but battalions need a lot of tweaks. gambits are too strong and battalions bring too many bonus stats.

I mean, you're not wrong, but I think the far worse problem is how the game is basically Wyvern Emblem unless you actively want to hinder yourself.
There's literally no reason to not reclass fucking everybody into Wyvern Riders, especially since you can have retarded shit like Wyverns who can steal.

>>tomes have severely gimped use
>That's the point, the series has typically had a big emphasis on resource management. Magic is broken in 3H because its "weapon charges" regenerate after battles.
Also this. The only argument against Wyvern Emblem whatsoever is magic being free damage, though I'm still not certain you're not better off turning your dedicated mages into shitty wyvern riders that still shit on everything, possibly harder than they previously did as mages, even with free attacks.

Not that I don't like the idea thematically, it's cool to be the dragon-spamming fucktard trying to take over the world yourself for a change, but still.

I like Adjutants because Pair Up was always grossly overpowered. It's the same basic idea but not as powerful.

Well that's what I was saying, Awakening pair up was broken, so they reworked it in fates
Attack stance was perfectly balanced
Guard Stance wasn't. it still gave too many bonus stats. desu all it needed was the guard points and the ability to neutralize attack stance.

>>Removed skill procs, only one left is Lethality
Good
Fuck those glorified crits

Why yes OP, I miss playing Conquest too.

Best animations kek

Having skills allowed to stick after changing classes is a huge mistake. Lethality should be bound to Ninja classes ONLY. Never be able to bring that over, it's what ruined Fates the most with the hacked units and the inherit skills

How the fuck is that bow STILL broken?

CONQUEST WAS SO CLOSE GOD DAMMIT

what other fire emblem game s[parked a war because the protagonist refused to have sex with her incel brother?

Stop, lorefag. We're enlightened scholars debating the value of individual gameplay mechanics

I hate guard and attack stance. Guard takes units out of the fight and turns them into a buff which is a shit mechanic no matter how it's implemented. Rescue was great the way it was. Attack stance makes enemies annoying as af because it's yet another thing I have to consider for enemy phase: if they will use it, which units will use it, how much damage will it do, etc. Why. The series was fine without it.

>Series was fine without it
This is true, I guess I just liked its extra depth
>Attack stance makes annoying
Well imo that's all Guard stance should be is a means of negating attack stance with a LITTLE extra. If guard stance gave no bonus stats or maybe even reduced stats like rescue it would've been balanced.

I already got past the time skip and I'm already bored. Does it get any better? Golden Deer btw.

The menuing gets more tedious, the writing gets better, and your units will get very strong very fast.

Depth can be achieved by map design, among other things. And guard being the best way to counter attack stance is a great reason to me to get rid of both. We're already limited by deployment slots, wasting units as buff batteries just feels like shit to me.

Unironically this

engh, I guess you're right. I just remember attack stance with fondness

I don't wanna make a new thread just to ask: are there vestiges of the school shit and class stuff after the skip or are those mechanics basically gone and you're stuck with what you have?

It's almost exactly the same but without lost items. and you can get faculty training from your students
you still do lectures and shit

It's the best in the series. It literally pleased every side of the fanbase, this game is a fucking miracle

>>Removed skill procs
Aegis and Pavise are still there, and Crests act as skill procs for the characters that have them, the Crest of Flames for example is like a mini Sol.
% of the game is a slice of life kawaii anime desu nyaaah
I don't mind the monastery in part 1 but in part 2 it is very unnecessary, really should have been replaced by a camp or something similar to CF's last part 1 chapter.
% of maps are rout/defeat boss
I found that most maps were defeat multiple bosses, which I thought was pretty refreshing that they're trying something new. Also it seemed to focus more on unique fail requirements than pass ones, like not letting enemies into a specific area, keeping allies alive, stopping retreats, that sort of stuff.
>>(you) have no dialog
I hate when this is done, but at least there's an in-lore reason for it. Doesn't make it any less lame though.

this, but also ironically

That's silly. Hope the story justifies it.

>>other skill procs
>I can't think of any.
Pavise/Aegis

>it's the same basic idea

Eh it's basically free damage, pair up in theory was trading 2 units for a stronger one but unfortunately FE as a game favors that so it was the optimal choice almost always.

I know it's beating a dead horse now but the portraits in this game are so sloppy it drives me nuts. There's so many mistakes like blush going over the eyes/hair, lines not getting fully erased, inconsistent shading, etc.
>Bernadetta's fucking eyebrows
seriously what the fuck it looks like someone used MS paint to draw them on
