Graphics have peaked.

>that will require a 1000$ pc for low quality pal

my PC is barely 600 dollars and i run ultra at 60 fps no problem, bump that down to high and i have 100 frames on average

anything above 'High' always been a joke for almost everything.

Basically this. Usually the ''ultra'' setting just cranks up some values to 500% while you cant even notice the difference unless you take a before and after screenshot. And it cuts your performance almost in half in most cases. Not worth it.

They trick you into using ultra so you won't notice their bitcoin miners while you play

I hope the coming generation will focus on draw distance. its nice that everything in 10 meter radius looks good and all but fuck pop in and a everything looking like shit 20+ meters away. Probably wont happen because muh raytracing meme.

>wasting the "extra" 5400 triangles detailing a single model rather than improving scenery geometry or rendering more characters on the screen

>developer spends time optimizing game and having good art direction so that it still looks good on potato pc's
>hurr why doesn't the game look like shit when I lower the settings, it should look like shit!

What is the point of this image?
A ZBrush decimation tutorial?
pic got the point across years ago

The point of that image is to show that the point is making is wrong

>now costs more to run less
>now costs less to make things that cost more to run less
We didn't need that pesky gold standard, fiat currency backed by bank loan debt will surely be just fine so long as we promote consumerism to offset all this loss in wealth.
I just wanted to play video games.

Also exodus was shit

We've know this for at least the last decade user

oh look. it is another Yea Forums kiddie thread trying to talk about something they don't understand, because they simply lack the needed braincells for it

where?

Neither of the pics make a good point.
We've had photoreal for years and that involves sculpts in the millions of polygons baked and optimized down to the 10-100ks with shaders that do all the work.

the person who created it didn't realize that the last image proves the point in

Style>Realism so yes I agree.

no this image is wrong we're past potato faces

A very educational display of pedantry, but the bottom line for me is still the same - I'd gladly settle for a 2k and have the nigger devs work on something more important like fucking GAMEplay, instead of painstakingly sculpting super-detailed models.

i still play most games at medium or sometimes high because it usually doesn't look any different to the max settings but you can gain like 20-30 fps from lowering the settings.
