That's how every system will be these days. 4 years into the system it is pretty much over. Increased production costs and development length has pretty mich killed the budget video game on home console that is supposed to be the filler in between high production value titles.

every platform is dominated by these and similar games you retards. Switch is the only exception because these games are either not even there or run like crap compared to other platforms

The Japanese have nobody but themselves to blame for this though, they pretty much went and took a major shit on most of their IP's somewhere around mid-late 2000s and set their dominance into decline.

Nintendo is dominated by Mario games which is apparently less embarrassing than sports games.

a more direct example for this phenomenon is how Mortal Kombat completely took over the whole fighting game genre in the west. People hardly buy other fighting games, they just buy Mortal Kombat. MK sold 18 million copies this gen, the whole rest of the fighting game genre (pretty much all japanese games) combined didn't sell half of this number. The closest competitor is Tekken that only sold 4 millions this gen.
