what would you say if i told you i have vr but i never use it? what would you say then, huh op? HUH?

VR is a meme gimmick fad that is already over.

The main reason I don't buy VR is because the people who use it seem worthless. It's a "social game" medium, and why would I want to socialize with the VR demographic? They are:

1) meme-spouting teenagers
2) 4/10 women seeking to snipe attention from internet men
3) furries. a lot of furries.

>It's a "social game" medium
except it isn't

>why would I want to socialize with the VR demographic?
why would you play VR games to socialize? lmfao

>4/10 women
women don't play any games

It just doesn't have a killer app yet. The tech is great but you can only play the same 5 one hour games so long

vr will always be a meme

>paying for close-up video game goggles

Attached: 1556151915728.png (800x680, 196K)

Pavlov is fucking trash

I use VR to play the drums when my kid's sleeping. I also use it to play FPS games and puzzle games, because I enjoy interacting with the environment instead of using the right thumbstick to "examine" an item.

I own an Oculus Rift and while it is an impressive piece of hardware it is just a gimmick and I would never recommend anyone buys one yet.

A majority of VR games are either utter garbage or things you get bored with quite quickly.

Attached: 36298427.jpg (667x670, 31K)

What drumming game? and is it good? I always thought vr would have a pretty fun drumming game

I has PSVR because I'm black
tell me what games I should get

shit I already have:
here they lie (free)
skyrim vr
wipeout omega
some shit about making a tower with blocks
some shit about fitting a polyhedron into a wall
eve valkyrie
psvr worlds

>he has downs

>peek person
>die instantly
>no ranks but everyone takes it seriously
agreed

>Wasting money just to be able to play gimmicky one note games or tech demos

>he needs ranks to take a game srsly
the cancer killing gaming

Every VR FPS being a dogshit low-TTK "realistic" game, like a fucking shitty console shooter ported into VR, gets really old

>Have a vive and a quest
>Don't use neither no more
I need GOOD GAMES, FUCK.
Straight up, the best VR games only barely compare to even mediocre pancake games.
My quest is only used for porn now.

>have a vive and a quest
>have a vive AND a quest
why? why do you have two?

Because I'm not poor.

vr just needs a really good gacha game and it will become a huge success

Same.

I have the OG VIVE, and the Valve Index only.

I would murder a motherfucker for bioshock vr.

>he bought vr before its ready

i bought a vive just to play minecraft VR. judge away.

I still really want to buy an index to upgrade from my rift

I love my rift and frankly the touch controllers > knuckle controllers, but I dream of that more easily read text, higher field of view, and bigger sweet spot

>paying hundreds of dollars to be a beta tester

Based and truthpilled.

resident evil 7

While I've always had the stance that stated, after watching Carmack on Rogan's podcast, I can now see it as a pretty useful tool. As a gaming system, there is much better stuff I would rather waste my money on, but I can totally see it as a useful tool for specific things. Not things that I would need it for, but I can at least see some value in it now.
I could see renting it for a weekend or something, but I just can't see any reason to waste that much money to own it. Granted, I think the same thing about home consoles, so I guess take that with a grain of salt.

I can. I just don't want it.

yeah VR is really worth i love that i get access to amazing hits like:

Stand In One Place and Shoot at Stuff

and

Stand In One Place and Slice Stuff

or

Wacky and Quirky Game Where You Stand In One Place and Throw Stuff Around

and VR's greatest hit:

A Literal Fucking Chatroom

really worth the hundreds of dollars

Attached: 1567135661526.jpg (359x357, 12K)

I just have absolutely no interest in it

Good taste, I wouldn't touch Minecraft outside VR though
Game looks amazing with the right shaders

There are games where you move about, but its usually an option you have to enable because lesser people get sick

That said the lack of software is the most viable complaint about VR, I love it, I plan to upgrade mine, but there's not much to do.

Drunk VR chat with mates is a blast enough for me to keep coming back though.

Which headset do you recomend OP? I can afford it, but they're shitting a lot of hardware

VorpX is flawed and not "true" VR but goddamn if it hasn't provided me some of my favorite VR experiences revisiting games I've played to death and actually feeling like being there.
Bioshock series is actually one of the games that works fairly well with it along with Source engine shit.

What about the porn?

It's not that I can't afford it, it's that there are barely any games that aren't tech demos so it doesn't doesn't justify the cost.

Porn isnt worth it, its low quality and takes too much time to set up

The potential is there, It just needs games.

Attached: 1483067010033.jpg (807x659, 42K)

>using VR to watch shitty videos

Attached: 1371735525592.gif (520x292, 1.75M)

VR for porn videos are bad because its juden roastie porn and getting a nasty roastie shoved into your face is genuinely unsettling

Anime games are kind of hit or miss, depends on how autistic you are, lots of set up, the controls and ui are often super janky and it can feel like a ton of work just to get the pose and angle you want, though its great when you finally do.

Well the juden pornographer angle aside, 3DOF is always dogshit and a relic of the past
Anime games are pretty simple even if the UI is garbage: Playhome and Insult Order are about as straightforward as it gets. HS and koi are reserved for the turbo autists.
Anyone who tries WSS totally deserves what happens to them.

Because I spent the money on a LG OLED TV instead falling for the VR meme.

Call me when its 250$ or less

>he fell for the OLED meme
enjoy your burn in

Your options are basically cardboard or someone else's sloppy seconds, and will likely remain that way forever.

I already own guns though, most of which were cheaper than VR.

>bought a valve index
>realize that VR games have horrendous gameplay
There isn't a single game that plays well, and shit like Fallout 4 and Skyrim are somehow worse.

I own real guns as well. Wanna have a deathmatch in a mall?

>shooting gallery/stand still shooting at waves of enemies
>gets boring after 30 seconds
literally 90% of VR games lmao

Attached: 1566655995970.jpg (624x480, 69K)

I'd rather have a vr headset than the shit mosin nuggets and other sub 400 dollar guns desu.

>bullets are free

Lets be honest here, your guns suck ass because you're only legally allowed to have guns that suck ass

>guns
>suck
You're thinking of a vacuum cleaner. Also, you really don't want one to suck your ass. Trust me.

cringe on so many levels

Well then I guess it's not for me. I'm not buying a peripheral that costs more than my entire rig.

No, you can only use cringe for the first level. You need the jetpack for level 2.

I got my wmr headset for 150 bucks on sale. Its definitely alot of fun and has alot of cool uses. But we're still too early. Headsets are too big and heavy. The cable on the back keeps it perpetually tilted ever so slightly and the controllers are too fucking big.

The rhythm games look fun, or at least the Japanese gay boys who dance while they play make it look fun

Get Thumper when it's on sale. I don't have a huge library for it but so far Wipeout is easily the best so you've got that covered. EA Battlefront has a 20 minute VR level in an X-Wing which is cool if you like Star Wars since you can get that game for $3 at GameStop.

>buys the cheapest shittiest headset he can find
>we're too early guys

But none of my complaints are about the tracking/resolution or other more specific technical issues to VR in itself? Its just the headsets are too big and controllers are kinda shit and I have tried the others

Sounds more like he's just a weak manlet rather than the HMD being the problem
Hell isn't the Index the heaviest?

didn't vorpx also have a sketchy as fuck payment model?

Attached: how can shit rally 2.0 even compete.webm (900x506, 2.99M)

thanks bros

All I know is that a lot of redditors are angry because they thought they'd get something That Just Worked and then found out there's no refund policy and the program is fiddly as fuck and not for single digit IQs and will make anyone without epic constitution throw up in their HMD
Obviously the dev is well aware 90% of the whiny pricks suckered into buying it would refund if it were an option so that's kind of scummy but ultimately the product does what it claims to do and people who know how to use it generally don't regret purchasing it

>simcade
very cringe

Sounds kind of fair game I guess, I considered purchasing it for DR2 but then reminded myself that it will end up having no more depth than VR porn videos. Then Kikemasters patched in native VR support, which is horrible on its own

>
>NGP6
>-cade anything
look at this retard and laugh

Attached: slip angle.webm (1280x720, 2.96M)

I haven't tried it for cockpit games but the VR effect is sometimes pretty damn good and some games do have limited 6DOF available (though rotation is usually fucked) and the vehicle segments in HL2 were great. It really depends heavily on the native camera movement to begin with.
I'd only recommend it to immersionfags who mod extensively and have huge nostalgiaboners

Attached: palmer-luckey.jpg (298x247, 49K)

VR is still a fat meme. The only game that plays well in VR and has a lot of content is unironically Payday 2 for some godforsaken reason, while the rest worth their price are VR multiplayer games that are meant to be played with someone you know, and you won't have friends to play those games with because they all agree VR is still a fat meme too.

>and the vehicle segments in HL2 were great
was this before HL2VR came out? doesn't look like it requires vorpx to work (I hope it doesn't)

Attached: when the acid kicks and trees start warping sideways at 160kph.webm (900x506, 2.95M)

Valve's own HL2VR support hasn't been updated in ages afaik and is for all intents and purposes broken which is ironic given how hard Valve is pushing VR on the hardware level
There's some halfass vaporware fan project to restore it but that's not going anywhere
GMod recently got a VR mod that is apparently rapidly improving and sounds to be the best way to experience HL2VR right now

This sounds pretty big but I'm guessing by the fact no one is talking about it it's actually fucking nothing.

twitter.com/ValveNewsNetwor/status/1168757203177787392

Does anyone here use VRridge ? (Turn Google Cardboard into Vive like VR) is it great for racing VR game ?

>Google Cardboard
just no dude

I just want to try VR not to fully invest in it. Racing game with VR seems fun

Attached: 10503814a2.jpg (970x1200, 484K)

Cardboard is trying VR like going down a hill in a shopping cart is trying driving

>he had to sell his arms to afford it

You're right I can't afford it. That's always been one of VR's flaws and why every attempt up till now has usually proved fruitless. It's hard for investors or developers to put money into a platform that doesn't reach wide audiences because there's bigger risk with only small returns.

Nah. This looks fun
youtube.com/watch?v=0yiNseokO6k

Enjoy your gimmick fad with no games

>IM NOT INSECURE:the post

I feel you. You can either watch horrid american porn "stars" shove their fucking used up vag up your face, or just watch a fucking censored jav. I'd rather just use my imagination at that point.

Back when I had an oculus, it came with that Lucky's Tale game for free. I found it a bit surprising how easy VR integrates as just a camera for 3D platformers. I wish more games would try that.

Pavlov is pretty much the go-to VR experience for shooters right now, and is quite fun. Someone's remaking CoD Zombies as a mod, so you get to play the CoD:WaW zombie mode with ten players.

This. It needs more games. I borrowed a friends PSVR for Skyrim and RE7. Skyrim got boring but RE7 was pretty fucking excellent. I wasn't interested in anything else besides superhot.
Boneworks looks really fun, I hope that gets finished soon.

Aircar is the cheapest therapy out there

Robo Recall remains the most fun VR game and - big surprise - it's another hour long tech demo
No one willing to invest the resources into making a good, full length, non-cashgrab game killed VR

>PSVR sold well and is going to be forward compatible with PS5
>Microsoft will likely release/sell a competing product or allow PC headsets to tie in
>Quest is selling extemely well, especially in places where living space is small
>We now have 'affordable' headsets with the Rift S and competitors
user, don't be dishonest. It will likely never replace flat-screen gaming, at least not until it's much cheaper and more advanced, but this clearly isn't another 'nVidia 3D Vision', Wii-Motion, or Kinect. It's actualy gaining ground. Maybe not fast, but it's still growing at a decent pace, and not dying off.

>It's a "social game" medium
Is it? I play it so I can actually walk around inside my virtual worlds and actually experience the sense of scale, and how personal everything feels, such as just how fucking massive Paarthurnax is when he is looming over you.

Fuck social stuff. I have real life friends to neglect. Why would I want online ones?

Attached: ComfyNite.gif (540x500, 202K)

what game and don't fucking say start citzen.

don't know the resolution for google cardboard, but lower resolution (personal experience is htc vive vs odyssey+) will make it very hard to see what's coming up ahead. the track might just turn into a single slit of pixels with no discernible features.
the depth perception alone will make it loads of fun though, that's for sure

Attached: mineshaft drop.webm (900x506, 2.95M)

99% sure it's literally just some HL themed tech demo they cancelled after it became obvious HL3 would never see the light of day, because it'd result in people actually asking them to do some fucking work instead of just recreating Kleiner's lab.

it's the first word what the fuck are you on about

thought that was some silly word you were using to describe what you were doing. thanks.

>Tried project CARS out when I got my Oculus
>Impressed by the immersion, even when I only have a gamepad
>Decide to watch a replay of my video capture
>Can actually see myself leaning into turns like I'm my parents playing Mario kart on the SNES.

I should pick up a wheel and pedals, and build some kind of rig for my chair one of these days.

Im one of those guy who can withstand 360p resolution. And my rig can handle 60fps smoothly I think i'll be fine.

Thanks lad. Guess I'm downloading Gmod again. For some reason I totally blanked out that you've always been able to play HL2 through it. I used to do it all the time co-op with my best mate.

>at least not until it's much cheaper and more advanced,
The only type of "VR" that'll replace flat screen gaming is projected flat screens in AR, so you can play games anywhere.

VR isn't gaining ground. If anything, it's quickly losing steam, so many companies have already folded their VR divisions after losing millions on ports. The future of VR is crappy indie titles that have nowhere near enough money to make something that feels like more than an hour long tech demo.

I have no doubt that one day, the tech will be good. Right now? It's just a series of compromises, and we already have a clusterfuck of different standards.

No Man’s Sky is quite entertaining in VR
It gets boring after a while though

but what if I dont have the space for vr?

Attached: 19de47d800a96cb9e08dc4b1fffc5336628616ebfda9a6e138106671fe987d93.png (707x707, 352K)

i have yet to find a game that would make me want to buy a VR set.

A VA-11 Hall-A style first person VN, but you Uber people around in your flying taxi.

You play with joystick movement and turning like a cripple. I have standing room and about 180 degrees I can wave my hands freely thanks to my bed, that's about the worst you can get and still play VR.

you don't even need a rig honestly, just a chair that won't slide backwards when you're stomping on the brakes
get yourself a used logitech g25 or g27, they're fine wheels for the price
avoid g29/g920, they're the same internal mechanics but logitech makes you pay a premium for the ps4/xbone chips

yeah that should work out for you then

Attached: walter roehrl LARP.webm (1280x720, 2.91M)

lol Skyrim without mods
Sorry to harp on that tired point but Skyrim VR on PC is a miracle

Cardboard is just thoroughly shit. It sounds like it should work fine in theory but the actual experience is so bad I actually recommend people away from it. But whatever, poorfags will do what they do (and then they pretend they're experts.)

"Lo-Fi" seems to be Aircar but with an actual game attached. Lets hope its substantial.

My HTC Vive has been collecting dust for 2 years.

VR is a fucking meme don't fall for it.

I'd at least need something to stop my chair from moving and a table or bracket to secure the wheel to. My computer desk is directly under the sensors and the tracking when I sit right up against it isn't great, and I don't have much leway to change my play space, but thanks for the tips on wheels.

>uncited claims and opinions
A lot of you seem to be forgetting there is a long game going on here. As you note one day it will be where you want it, but it has to survive that long, and thankfully it's certainly not doom and gloom like a lot of posts in these threads would have people believe.

The Rift S is really the beginning. As is the Quest. The latter is totally stomping the original Rift on app sales, and allegedly is extremely popular in the Asian market where people live in shoeboxes and PC gaming isn't big.

Attached: z48fMGG.jpg (1662x1077, 222K)

Aircar is pretty comfy

Also, I recommend trying out the "Vertigo 2" demo on steam, it's a really fun FPS, can't wait for it to come out!

BTW - I own an Index and I wanted to play stuff like Chronos and Lone Echo (Oculus exclusives). How easy is Revive to setup? VR is already a niche thing and this exclusive platform bullshit needs to die.

Attached: 1489066156257.jpg (240x240, 6K)

>The Rift S is really the beginning. As is the Quest
That's plenty of doom and gloom right there, fuck off Oculus cocksucker

Well, the teaser video looks pretty kino at least, that's just a lotta red flags. I wish them luck for sure. I hope they stick with it.

the porn alone is enough to keep it alive, not to mention a lot of decent games

its funny how accurate the connect is, but they never did anything useful with it.

a substantial amount of animators use that thing for mocapping.

looks cool.

jesus imagine this with a VR headset.

Full body tracking isn't VR, though it certainly goes well with it
How's Gmod porn btw? VAM might finally have some fucking competition

Agreed on all points. At least it seems like there's seasoned industry vets working on it, though they might be a little too seasoned.

>How easy is Revive to setup?
for dirt rally 1 it was as simple as installing the base oculus toolkit and selecting the .exe on the revive launcher, it injects the voodoo on its own
only problem I had sometimes was the height not calibrating correctly and being stuck in the floor or 20ft above the select screen, but re-running the room scale setup fixed it every time

Attached: why would you even put gravel there oh fuck oh fuck.webm (900x506, 2.92M)

It's a lot of fucking around, has no controllors, needs 3rd party software. Try and get hold of a second hand headset, or if you don't trust second hand, save for a new Rift S.

there have been HLVR "leaks" for years that he's been reporting on.

New leaks! The same kinds of leaked strings that have been coming out since 2015... half-life in vr is just around the corner guys...

Call me when HLVR or some shit that's actually a game instead of a tech demo that'd keep me occupied for a day or two gets released.
I've played VR and while it's fun, after you've gone through the lab and beat saber and the lots a couple times, there's not much to do.
Shit costs a thousand bucks and I need about 400 more to make my PC beefy enough to take it. These kind of money are not something you can just throw away for something that will collect dust after the first few times you went 'woah' at some skybox.

You got me. The tech companies who apparantly can't afford to keep the lights on because VR is ruining them are now hiring shills to be positive on Yea Forums. Dat seethe.

This Lo-Fi game looks promising. I'll keep an eye out for it

You're really dumb, go back to your shill discord for reprogramming you stupid cocksucker.

>This Lo-Fi game looks promising. I'll keep an eye out for it

Shame theres no good gameplay that isn't some mouth breather. Sorry if anyone likes them or something.

>I've played VR and while it's fun, after you've gone through the lab and beat saber and the lots a couple times, there's not much to do.
If I linked every poster that made this claim it would probably be a fucking breach of the rules or go over the character limit.

>Resident Evil 7
>Skyrim
>Fallout 4
>Minecraft
>The Forest
>Elite Dangerous
>No Mans Sky
>VorpX allowing a large chunk of your favorite games to work in headset-as-camera-VR
Off the top of my head. You know, no full experiences to play, nope, it's all tech demos. You could argue that all games that can be played pancake, and sure, but that's not what is being claimed. They are just being carefully ignored for the sake of being salty.

I wish I could figure out the controls to The Forest

Attached: 1535501035258.png (362x368, 140K)

I use vr ridge and it works perfect with almost every porn game if you have gyro. You'll need remotes though of some kind. Not like it matters. Most vr games suck and only simulation is good in it.

>Elite Dangerous

Is this still good or was this a "you had to play it when the multiplayer was a thing" thing?

I just want everyone to be able to experience the wonder of seeing some of the wonders of VR. Even in it's low-res PSVR glory walking up the hill and into Bleak Falls Barrow in Skyrim filled me with so much wonder. And I was generally unimpressed with pancake Skyrim. You just can't appreciate scale on a monitor, and perspective can make even a bland art asset look jaw dropping when it's towering a hundred feet over you.

Hell, the PSVR demo (London Heist?) and the NPCs felt like being in a room with the actual characters.

>youtube.com/watch?v=Fa0b2Kd2xhU
I think this sums it up.

I'm not buying Skyrim again. It was shit the first time and hacked in VR support isn't going to make it better

is this what being rich feels like?

I paid 400$ to get stepped on by giant women in VR

Attached: 1550992504.jpg (1920x1080, 553K)

Hows windows mixed reality. Does it good ?

>thousands of dollars for a dozen minigames and tech demos
call me again when it's good

>No Mans Sky
That game is great in VR but man does it run like shit at times.

It's "good enough"

I paid 350$ to get stuffed into cleavage in VR.

The devs showed their ineptness with VR when a former Valve VR dev called them out on their ludicrous GPU wastage by the game rendering all this extra shit that doesn't even physically appear through the VR lens.

It's good for the price and has excellent screens at the high end

Did they ever fix the fucking HUD not rotating with the HMD? I couldn't believe that shit.

I found both Skyrim and Fallout VR underwhelming. Both melee and gun combat have been done better in other VR games. They also lack the interactive capabilities of games made for VR. I'm not saying that they're bad exactly, they just don't take advantage of VR.

I returned my set because I just don't have enough space right now. Really liked it though, and ended up getting a cheap phone set for porn.

My friend built a new PC for NMS VR, and it made him sick as shit whereas nothing else did. Ran bad too.

Nope. Haven't fixed the hands lagging behind the tracked controllers either.

how much do you think is vive cosmos gonna cost?

Fair enough but the particular strength of both games is the scale and freedom of the world and sadly no other VR game port or not comes close (especially not NMS with its garbage fake depth procgen)
Oh and also mods of course

>There isn't a single game that plays well
Astro Bot, Res 7, Omega Collection.

700ish seems to be the number floating around

If they're smart they'll put it at $400 to compete with Oculus, but I feel like it's gonna be in the ballpark of $600-700

nah he was thinking of your mother LOL!

Attached: DABDABDAB.gif (606x443, 266K)

600$ then goes down to 450$ two years later.

HTC doesn't really compete, they just kind of do things, overpriced things and people grudgingly buy their stuff because they're not Oculus
Holy fuck Valve, start selling reasonably priced trackers already

based

what about Minecraft VR? up until a couple days ago i didn't knew that existed.

>(especially not NMS with its garbage fake depth procgen)
The what? Only thing that looks godawful in NMS VR is the volumetric clouds being flat instead of....volumetric. One of those "This doesn't affect pancake users" optimization tricks.

Aren't all the games tech demos, "experiences" and 15 minute one time play novelties?

There's not a single legitimate game on VR. No killer apps. It's trash.

*won't

Doesn't it have manual height calibration?

I've been enjoying Hot Dogs, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades.

Really tickles my gun fancy, specially as I live in a noguns country.

Main issue I have with VR is I can't play any games that require lots of arm movement, cos I don't have that much space. I already nearly broke my hand trying to pistol whip something, can't imagine my house would survive me playing GORN or anything like that.

I don't remember, I felt short in a lot of VR games with the Valve Index, so maybe it's not just Minecraft vr

did lancia deltas also hover over dirt gravel and curbs? what suspension is that

Why the fuck is the Index double the price of the Rift S? what exactly does it to to deserve that price tag?

Get a bigger playspace and buy Beat Saber.

it does

Just about everything in it is leagues better than the Rift S.

Yeah, my wife has it, and she's got her PC set up in our theatre room to play, but I have a whole bunch of cable management I've built into my desk for my PC, so moving it around is a pain in the ass.

Doesn't it still need external sensors?

are you mistaking the fully stabilized VR cam for hovering? you can see the shaking (and feel the force feedback) on the car, it's just uncomfortable to play when you fix the camera to the chassis instead of the horizon

The Rift S is a ramshackle piece of entry level crap and even Oculus fanatics admit it. It is literally a hastily cobbled together Lenovo WMR with some Oculus improvements, godawful audio and no hardware IPD adjust.
Index on the other hand is premium everything (except software lmao)
They're both best in their class and really shouldn't be directly compared

Holy shit posts like these are going to be funny to remember. A lot of us are probably going to die of old age in a vr headset/suit.

What about the Vive, is that any good?

this literally isn't even a game

It has a slider for adjusting your height, which basically just scales the world bigger/smaller.

Officially, it only has VR support under W10 version, for Rift and WMR. Unofficially, Java Minecraft has had mods for it for fricken' years.

They're not sensors, they're points of reference for the sensors in tracked objects.
Yes, they're necessary and they give you better tracking precision, means tracked objects don't have to be in your field of view, and (rarely used) can track dozens of object at once.

Well, it's a moot point for me anyway, I can't afford it, and it's not even available in my country.

Index is pretty shit. If I never had a vive pro, and only had my original rift and vive, I would still think Index is shit.

The clicking issue of joysticks, grey blacks and bad contrast, colors are meh, plastic feeling pieces everywhere, lies about dates of wireless/usb-c, etc. Feels like a 1.5 instead of a 2.0. Which is a letdown since we had a 1.5 in early 2018 with the vive pro.

Inside-out tracking isn't really a good thing unless you're a renter or like to take your HMD around. It's filled with compromises while external sensor tracking is more or less absolute but more unwieldy/expensive.

Vive is solid and can use Index controllers but the screen is horribly outdated compared to what else is out. Still they're pretty cheap now I suppose and offer the same external tracking as Index. You can also use Vive wands as spare trackers if you upgrade to Index. And its the only PCVR headset with wireless option. HTC is a bad company though and they don't have much of a future.

Okay kid, enjoy your Rift S

>And its the only PCVR headset with wireless option
Officially that is. Vive/Rift have had third-party alternatives for awhile now. Vive's official solution also burned people's scalp.

You played 3 games and are saying this. Things like Beat Saber, Gorn, H3, Expect you to Die, Duck Season, Sairento, Arizona Sunshine, Dick Wilde, Superhot, Talos Principle, Doom VFR, GalGun (lol), and even No Mans Sky (on good hardware) are top tier games with VR. That can't be done in a remotely similar way without VR. The entire concept and feel would be moot if you took the roomspace aspect away.

If you want I can name 10 more as well. But I will leave this thread because you faggots don't deserve it.

You can't just replace Freddy Francesco.
He can't do that.

the VR desktop mirror looks hilarious, check out for some trippy tree visuals

Gitgud

Vive and Rift used have been $200-300 for a few years now. PSVR new. WMR new. PSVR and WMR are pretty meh tho.

These are all just "flatscreen" games with your face in the game.
Nothing that's in those games couldnt be done without vr.
Pc VR is legit dead tho, every multiplayer game has zero players except maybe 3 games (and we are talking 50-100 players max). The list of games that are being played are still the same as year one and nothing worthwhile has come out.
I sometimes still hook up my Oculus, but the setup takes longer then it takes me to get bored with the games(give or take 10min)

PSVR isn't exactly booming.

Not for me, I'll wait for full dive VR.

Attached: 153134789561.png (800x584, 588K)

Yeah, I fucking can't
It'd be neat but it's two months worth of money and I live in the second world

Why should I invest in a school shooting trainer if I'm not american?

You can also use VR to learn how to pray towards Mecca properly so you won't get beaten by your masters

what happened to the vr patch for re7 (pc)? capcom doesn't give a shit i guess..

I'm waiting on VR to get a gun training program that teaches you how to interact and use real guns, to see people on twitter bitch about how VR is preparing people to be killers.
But no, really. I would like a real VR gun-porn title that lets me disassemble and clean out a variety of weapons.

What about samsung gear vr?

Never fucking trust Capcom they're a bad company with good games that they mistreat

Fuck off shill

>These are all just "flatscreen" games with your face in the game.
Yes. This is amazing though, I've no idea what the fuck you mean by "just".

Nothing is ever simple with VR setups or VR games, i'm done modding my files, tracking down 3rd parties, spending evenings diving into settings, testing, spending so much time just learning how to use one game. I don't want to do it anymore. Hours and hours and hours fiddling with pieces of shit softwares that don't give you an inch. Downloading extra shit, replacing files, making backups, you launch the game and it's bootleg as fuck because it's in perpetual alpha stage and nobody bothered to make it nice.
Nothing ever just works. I guess i can spend my evening learning this uncooperative software when i'm tired and i just want to wank or i could just go do something else that's fun so which will it be. And every god damn game is like this.

Attached: 1446072180807.jpg (250x233, 4K)

>Nothing that's in those games couldnt be done without vr.
Explain to me a game that can't be done without goggles on.

I'm not him retard, I jumped in the thread and saw you claiming VR's dying again
It's lasted longer than most other things that've died over the last several years, and it's got a foothold in PC, the most important market for something that needs people to experiment with

You sound like a WMR owner.

you guys should try out google earth vr, space engine vr and the vr mod for alien isolation.

Dunno what games you are playing but ive never experienced any of this

Is this some vorpx autism

What if I tell you that I bought a used odyssey+ solely to play RBR in VR and it was worth every penny so far? Every other game from Project Cars 2 to Superhot is just a bonus. It's 8+ years of reworking and expanding the physics engine, done by a single german autist in his basement. Hundreds of tracks and dozens of cars, beats anything Codemasters has shat out by a long shot.

Attached: Richard Burns Rally 2019.08.15 - 01.59.40.03.DVR_1.webm (900x506, 2.87M)

Whatever shill, don't forget that death is always an option.

Afraid I don't know anything about it. That said, phone VR is generally highly inferior. Just be patient and save up if you really want to experiance it properly. Or sell some shit you don't use.

if you wanted to have nothing to play you could save $950 and buy a ps3 off ebay lmao

So your just mad, then, and anyone who doesn't think like you is a shill? Got it.

Literally all of these games are hot garbage. Expect you to die is fun as a gimmicky point and click, but it's done in 30 minutes.

H3VR is the only passable game on your list, but the gameplay is fucking abysmal and you basically have to make your own fun with incredibly rudimentary tools.

Beat Saber is pure trash, the worst rhythm game out there after Osu.

The rest aren't even worth mentioning, because they're tech demos and ports.

Looks like DaggerfallVR is back on the menu boys

The closest you can get is H3, but gun disassembly is way too fiddly for VR, and I don't think it'd be fun without much better haptics, like glove controllers.

There's Disassembly VR
Haven't tried it

I can afford VR but I want to see evidence that it's worth the investment and that's the problem right now, if Nintendo can sell 28million switches with Breath of the Wild then VR needs to find its Zelda

And the same to you IQlet, I'm not even sure it's shilling if I don't even own a headset, I'm just not retarded when I look at the sales and popularity of something I don't like

and by dozens of cars I actually meant 144 lel

Attached: lotta cars.png (812x3936, 245K)

are we being raided by reddit

>indiscriminately killing dozens of people
>pray to some deity

Yep, totally the same.

Arm movement is overrated. Motion controls are for limp wristed faggots who don't feel anything wrong when there's no force feedback. There are some ok games like Beat Saber.

Arm movement is absolutely not overrated

It's literally essential for VR, and I don't know how anyone could honestly want to use a controller or mouse to click on something when you could just reach down and pick it up

At that point just take the headset off and play on a monitor?

>t. never tried VR before

>It's literally essential for VR
Yeah it's really not. I can play with a controller just fine.

>I don't know how anyone could honestly want to use a controller or mouse to click on something when you could just reach down and pick it up
Look, you're right about this.

However. HOWEVER. It's not cool to not be able to lean on a wall, or have your hand phase through objects. Much worse is the melee combat, since there's no force stopping your arm from swinging when you hit a wall, or get blocked by a shield. Might as well just take up MMA if you're gonna play crappy games like Gorn, or whatever that swords and magic tech demo-y one is. I'd rather just play with a controller.

Shooting games are better in that regard, but for some reason none of them let me sit down and move around with the control stick. No I don't want to warp everywhere, it's stupid.

>At that point just take the headset off and play on a monitor?
You may as well be telling me to play my games on a phone with how huge the difference feels both in-headset and outside of one. Res 7 is so good inside the headset. Same with Omega Collection.

The porn is mind-blowingly awesome, especially if you've got a fleshlight with the heater, but it quickly loses its luster after you blow your load, and have to take all that shit off without accidentally getting jizz and/or lube on your 400 headset.

>>Shooting games are better in that regard, but for some reason none of them let me sit down and move around with the control stick.
Most of them do, dude.

Some games work better with controllers/mouse

Platformers like lucky's tale sure, but vr chat? super hot? Robo recall? You are telling me you want to play those with a mouse or gamepad?

Oh, really? Could be fun.

This. Could they really, honestly, think he effect is just 'closer' screens?

Well they require me to stand up at least. I'm fine with moving around with a control stick, but not while standing up if I can help it. The last thing I want to do after my body is exhausted from a workout is to do more work.

If you have any recommendations, I'd appreciate it though.

>vr chat
Not a game. I never used chat rooms 20 years ago, I'm not about to start now, especially since it's autistically filled with pop culture characters and other stupid shit.

Super hot and robo recall suck as games dude, and I'd rather even go to the arcade and play some light gun games instead. They're at least not as easy or stupid. Like I said, Beat Saber is alright.

The quality of the games or what you consider to be a game isn't relevant, you put forward the notion that they'd be improved by removing arm movement which is a really ridiculous statement.

Robo Recall and Super Hot still have the exact problems I've mentioned user. Also you move your arms around in light gun games, so if you're going to bring up an example at least don't sound like somebody who only got into videogames with VR.

mods, pls ban this underage now

I mean, it might be decent for simulated intercourse, but other than that. Meh.

Attached: Feel the power of VR.webm (800x424, 2.98M)

I might just go for the rift s. I don't care about virtual desktop and I know it works on w7 fine,

VR currently on an uptrend in sales, not that I disagree with you. Too many problems with VR to make it good for filling up my living room. That and I'd have to worry about hitting my cat and kids.

You keep dodging your original point user, it was your contention that these games would be better without arm movement which is a ridiculous statement, or are you taking that back now? You think they'd be better with a vr headset but with a mouse and keyboard? or controller?

And what's this nonsense about light guns? I like light gun games as well, stay on topic.

I'm not gonna lie...
I'm not even into rape, but VR seems like its built for it.

Multiplayer is the true future of VR games

>that these games would be better without arm movement
Lol dude, arm movement is the least of Robo and Super Shit's problems.

But yes, arm movement is extremely overrated (you haven't put forth a single argument against that point btw), and Resident evil 7 has been the best first person game I've played in VR. It would not be improved with arm movement. Maybe better animations though.

What software am I going to be locking myself out of if I go for the Rift S?

Ah, so your barometer for "arm movement" is playstation waggle wands.

This conversation makes a lot more sense now.

That's an odd way to write porn.

Dude, what fucking hardware are you using that eradicates the problems I've mentioned? I guess the lack of a functioning brain.

That doesn't sound idea, people won't always be in to the same things. If you're some kind of vanila casual it would probably not matter much, but the more unique the stuff you want to do is, the more rare it will be to find some one. Not to mention it might as well be gay relations simulator considering that most women will probably be 80%

80% guys pretending to be girls.

You're dropping a grand on a headset and you can't even afford to pay a few dollars extra import fees?

I'm considering it, but there's a whole bunch of pain in the ass things to think about. Warranty, legality of it (it's technically not certified to be used in Japan, wifi bands and such), possible voltage problem with base stations, etc.
I'm low key hoping Valve will announce it in Japan as well (they've been hinting it) or that something better comes out/becomes available. I've been waiting for almost a decade for VR and I'm getting annoyed I'd have to wait longer though.

VR is only interesting if you are doing things that aren't possible in real life.
I have used all kinds of firearms as well as explosives IRL and it's much more exciting to just go do it for real than fuck around in some 480p shooting range with dick controllers in my hands.

VR is for shut-in homos who are afraid to go do real world shit.

In all honesty, I havent really found any games outside of beat saber and tetris to get. Im leaning towards psvr just because I can use it as theatre goggles. I hear there are one or two mech games that are good but thats still not enough to justify anything more expensive than the psvr.

True why play a rape game where you shoot a girl in the head than force her corpse to give you a blowjob, when you could do it in the real world.

those who have vr
are there any shit outside of gaming you can use glasses for?

I'd rather use that money to go to the range and shoot real guns.

Jokes aside I get the concept, and from what I've seen there are way too many shooting range games. Not really my interest ... now playing as a robot and fondling a scientists breasts only for her to slap my hand away ... that's high end gameplay right there.

I don't need glasses cos I'm not blind.

Just buy different games then, user. There's more to life than shooting ranges.

>this is a killer app
Video games are dead

H3VR does have different movement options aside from point and click, but they all give me instant motion sickness.

Yes videogames are only interesting when you are doing things that aren't possible in real life. Thanks Einstein.

>this is a killer app
If you are a casual.

Do vr sticks even have vibration? Just imagine seeing those uzi go off and shaking meanwhile your arms are perfectly still stretched towards. VR is more fun observed by third party.

yeah me too
i actually looked into the files, i could split the first person mesh for both hands while retaining the rigging, and load in VR them inside UE4. those models have individual bones for each finger and could possibly support finger tracking. but without the source code there isn't much hope i think.
and all animations use a "havok" format that was made specially for bioshock, and no one was ever been able to extact useful data from it

but i am not white trash

The only VR game I wanted to play was Pavlov VR. All I want is a decent FPS game where I can actually point at people and shoot them in their faggot faces. Rainbow 6 Siege in VR would be neat as fuck and I bet it would be the buggiest thing in existence.

VR is the least social gaming medium

How do you masturbate with the controller in both hands?
Shits impractical yo!

get a bf to help you out

How does recoil even work with VR?

Simple, you put one controller aside. You don't need two controllers to give head or thrust your hips.

Don't worry, they solved that issue.
youtube.com/watch?v=pRVO6HK1zYs

Terribly. I was really hoping we'd have a tracked pistol controller or something by now with just solenoid recoil like the old Namco gun for Time Crisis, but VR is so fucking niche that peripherals like that will never exist outside of arcades.

are you even going to have enough room to use it
this is japan we're talking about, land comes at a premium

VR will never take off in Japan, asians can't even handle FPS games.

I have a good-enough paying job. I live in a 3-bedroom + living room/kitchen apartment. I have a bedroom and a studio/office room so far, I'm planning to set up the 3rd room as game/VR zone specifically for it.

I know a lot of Japanese folks with VR sets, and every single arcade here in Tokyo has a VR-dedicated floor.

I feel like they would like it for sexy time, they have a birthrate problem

there is a slider in settings for that. also don't worry, many people report popping combat boners in b&s, you're not as weird as you think you are. it's supposedly less of arousement and more of some evolutional primal instinct bullshit

i mean, i hope so. it's either a fact or a very comfortable lie, either way it's my headcanon now

Unrelated but this describes my experience with anything linux

Bought a PSVR and, while there's some cool shit, I got bored of waiting for big companies other than fucking Bethesda to make games that last more than four hours.

Probably because it promises the world and delivers an extremely paltry experience.

I was playing shit in the arcades 25 years ago that is miles better than anything in VR. It's insane to me that gameplay has regressed this much.

>Why do people get so frothy at the mouth angry about VR?

Gosh, I think you just summed up video games in general! Video games suck when you put it like that!

What game?

Probably virtamate

I DON'T NEED EM

Attached: hqdefault.jpg (480x360, 28K)

yep, with mods if I recall correctly.

You act like most of Yea Forums actually has non-potato PCs that can run VR.

It is. Speaking of virtamate, I'm kinda sad because it seems like the golden age of content is over now that a few greedy people started advertising their paid patreon content and now even amateurs with shit content are trying to put their garbage behind paywalls. This kills the beautiful future we could have had with this game. I've gone weeks without downloading a single scene or look.

There was content in that shit? I could never be bothered downloading a few million different mods to get something passable, that shit was like Skyrim without the game.

Only retards but the fad in the first intervals. If it transcends from a fad, then you'll have much better versions a few years into it as well as superior software implementation, all for cheaper.

fallout 4 with mods is good

/r/VAMscenes has a ton, there's an in-game downloader that used to work until the patreon retards showed up. Most scenes and looks are just one file which you throw in their respective folders. What I do is load new looks, save them in-game and then I can load whichever look I want in any scene I have loaded. Lately I've been using shit from gonewildaudio and a lipsync plugin to make my own M/S D/D scenes.

Fucking patreon. Nothing has shown me how much publishers are needed like patreon, some people just wont put out any work without having a boot up the ass.

>not going into a real shooting range
yaikusu

i'm visiting my shooting range a lot, but i fucking love pavlov anyway. you can't shoot your friend on a real shooting range. i mean, you can, but it's super rude

The idea of begging for money BEFORE you've made something is so fucking ass-backwards that I can't even comprehend it, I'll never support anyone who uses those dogshit platforms. But hey, it won't make a difference, they'll make 10-500 times more money through it because of horny retards who somehow have nothing else to jerk off to.

I can and have bought it for PS4 and PC, but the only game I actually liked was Ace Combat 7. Iron Man VR looks like it'll be fun, but I hope it's more than just a tech demo.

Attached: Iron Man VR combat.webm (500x280, 486K)

There is hope. One of the guys who runs the subreddit who makes free quality material put out an announcement about clamping down on the patreon content creators. Basically, they have to be explicit about whether or not their content is free or paid, a preview or an actual download and they cannot just say "subscribe to my patreon to get access", they have to provide mega links. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

desu I don't see anyone dying in a headset. Now if we can get a holodeck-esque setup or full immersion without the need for a goggle then sure.

There was this one russian guy who fell fell onto a glass table and bled out

Haha, No.

What's the best VR headset/controller/kit if I can't buy the Index in my country? Price is not an issue, I just want the best of the best. Also fuck Facebook/Oculus.

Attached: 7ef.jpg (600x600, 32K)

Samsung Odyssey+
If money is really not an issue, might also get the Vive base stations and controllers, cause WMR controllers are not that great.

If you buy VR now, you are nothing but a guinea pig for the tech companies. They're not going to send you a letter to thank you for beta testing. But for the rest of the consumers you are the gullible idiots who paid prime for sub-par product so we get to enjoy it later like it was meant to be experienced and for a lower price.

There's nobody who "can't afford VR," it's just that most people don't care.

Yeah man just wait for another 5 years, I'm sure that blood clot in your leg won't kill your fat ass before then

I'll give mine away.
The Index was a real step up.
Less weight, higher res, the knuckles etc.

Yes
Same with oculus, I think

OH NO NONONONONO

Waiting for an actual game to land, 99% of VR games are just standing in place and shooting or swinging a weapon with no real aim or goal. Im open to the concept but the price just to play nothing more than shovel ware isnt worth it. Heres how you make VR appealling to investors so we get games with money thrown at them
>package it with next gen consoles, to ensure that everyone that at least plays on console is a potential customer for these new games, thus allowing developers to actually make these games, because more people have the hardware to play them
They didnt do this though so its still a gimmick with no real games worth getting it for, its all non descript throw away games.

>play maid game in VR
>qt maid sitting next to me and staring right into my eyes
fuck me

What a retarded logic.
There is no "final state" of any product. Everything evolves and gets better over time.

VAM literally has a working multiplayer mod now but only hopeless degenerates would engage in such virtual debauchery

Just got my Index, holy fuck my feet and back hurts after using this shit for a couple of hours. Atleast it gives me a workout which I probably need

Attached: 1564003529898.jpg (1280x720, 90K)

So uh, just for interest sake, what game could I do this in?

>he bought the non-h3vr gun sim

if it is better then, sure, but right now it is nothing but a bad joke.

>Reduce supply
>Uptrend in sales for the smaller consumerbase
Yes, that's how supply/demand works: You milk the suckers until they finally give up for being retarded paypigs.

Patreon is ridiculous, the next TES is going to have a very shitty mod scene out the gate because of it and it crippled Honey Select modding.
Money changes everything and greed is contagious. Patreonkikes just don't understand or don't care that you can't have a fucking real community with paywalls everywhere.

Poorfags actually believe saving like 200 bucks over 5 years makes them super intelligent.
Like any job that isn't garbage can't cover that working some OT in 1 week

Yea, it's tiring in comparison to sitting on your ass, especially since I'm an out of shape lazy shit. That's the only thing that limits my playtimes.
Wearing comfy sneakers or running shoes helps a lot with feet fatigue. I use to play barefooted at first, and that was torture after couple hours.

wear shoes and stand on a rug (helps keep you centered too) and fucking stand up straight. Also probably good to take breaks, I get carried away and do 8 hour stretches sometimes.

VAM with some setup
I recorded some footage like that for the lulz but it looks too much like a snuff vid

This new Master Chief helmet looks awful.

You should elaborate some more, particularly which mods and scenes would work best.

Once again, just for pure interest, and whether that should convince me to move my love seat out of the way and set up my vive again.

So realistically speaking, how much am I gonna need to pay to get an Oculus, Elite Dangerous VR, and a PC good enough to run it all decently?

The Forest VR
The Talos Principle VR (you may already have this)
Arizona Sunshine
The Blu
Ocean Rift
Vox Machinae

There's a modder who released functioning guns (they actually fire physics-enabled capsules) and you can easily set up a girl to ragdoll on command. Hell you could even simulate blood with a decal swap if you wanted. After that you can do whatever you please to the ragdoll, though I'm still experimenting with parenting mass-enabled objects to the "corpse" to make the ragdoll less floaty. You can only get so much done with a constant turboboner though.
>reddit.com/r/VAMscenes/comments/ahjci5/call_of_booty_black_cock_4u/
There's a tutorial series on Youtube that explains the basics of VAM. Even though it's totally outdated there's not a whole lot of other tutorials.

I got 20k saved so it wouldn't hurt but I can not justify spending 500$ on something I will barely use.

Rift S - $399, but if you primarily playing sims then I'd recommend Samsung Odyssey+ for $299
Minimum capable PC (Ryzen 1600, Rx580) - ~$600
Decent capable PC (Ryzen 2600, Gtx1660Ti) - ~$720

The main problems with VR are the price and the small library of actual, finished games. It's a great technology, its potential just hasn't been fully utilized.

Attached: VR Bullying.webm (700x442, 2.93M)

$1200ish probably, assuming you have the slightest idea what the fuck you're doing
And if you don't, VR is probably beyond you anyway

>tfw have vr and full body tracking just to dance in vrchat on slutty loli avatars

Let's assume I am a total newfag in VR world, which controllers are the best as far as accuracy/finger tracking (? is this a thing?) goes?

based

Came here to ask this.
I got a GTX 960 6gb. What VR set can I use with that

I'm just too lazy. That's the fucking problem. It's not the games' fault, or the hardware, it's me literally sitting here on my ass shitposting instead of flailing around in GalGun or something.

1400 is the easy number. A grand for the PC and then a new Oculus for 400. You can build a VR machine for way cheaper than that but if you're building a hot new PC in 2019 just build something good. Last thing you want is for newer VR games to start chugging, because that shit is way more obnoxious when the screen is half an inch away from your eyeballs.

Valve Index is currently the best on the market. As far as I know, it's the only one with finger tracking at the moment as well, though that feature isn't really utilized by too many games as of yet.

damn i tried out 1080p vr set and i would give my finger for RE7 on that.

960 is pretty bad, closer to minimum requirements but still playable. Now almost all basic VR sets have the same requirements - Vive, Rift , Rift S and all WMRs.
Only Vive Pro, Index and HP Reverb have higher requirements due to increased resolution.

I won't be able to afford VR for a long while, but even if could afford it, it's not what I want. I want true VR, VR where I can feel everything, the wind on my skin, the heat of a campfire, the thrill of fighting a monster with sword and shield in hand. That is what I want.

Attached: RAWRAW.jpg (630x345, 52K)

Why did they take these things off of the home market and make it only available for arcades? VR just isn't VR without some sort of real walking system. Don't give me that "move your arms back and forth to move", or "slide your feet back and fourth on a plastic mat while seated to move" horse shit. That is not immersive, which completely defeats the purpose of VR.

Attached: Virtual Reality.webm (720x404, 2.44M)

Just because you want unrealistic tech that will never exist in your lifetime, doesn't mean you can't enjoy the immersive gaming of current VR

VR runs generally pretty okay on 1060 6gb so I'd guess you'd just have to tone stuff down a bit more. VR specs are habitually overstated because a little bit of framedrop can make some people very sick.

Only Oculus Touch and Index track fingers and Touch is objectively inferior but not by a lot unless you're really interested in flipping people off. Oculus also ditched external tracking for inside-out and while their method is the best on the market, inside-out comes with a lot of tracking caveats.
Index controllers will work both with the Index HMD or Vive.
Also keep in mind that finger tracking is jank as fuck and will be for some time. There's also Leap Motion though it's sort of a DIY thing and not widely supported.

VorpX and Depth3D should run RE7

Attached: tFJuCV5XH.jpg (3840x2160, 3.75M)

You do realise that shit doesn't feel like walking, right? It looks like it, but it's just like sliding around on a shiny floor in socks.

That sounds pretty pricey desu. How do you guys manage to afford it? I'm nearing 30 years and I've got a mid-tier job as far as $$$ money goes, and I can't imagine being able to pay for this until next year. I need to buy a fucking apartment first. Someone please help me with adulting

NaLo does support leg trackers nowadays, you can even use smartphones as trackers
The thing you posted looks really uncomfortable and VR is enough of a pain in the ass to engage as it is

Can you use the oculus touch with a non-oculus controller? How good is the cross-device compatibility for most VR games? I'm afraid to get into VR because I'm skeptical at how hacky/tinkery it is to make controllers and headsets from different vendors work on different games/apps

I can't imagine being so fucking bad with money that you can't afford a thousand dollar expense when you have a job. What do you do, waste it all on booze or something?

Yeah, I actually didn't mean to post that, as I hate the "sliding your feet" idea in general. I was referring to actual treadmills. Something like the Omnideck, but small enough to fit in your house and also with a safety harness of some sort, what the fuck. youtube.com/watch?v=kkzBvg-2784

I get paid about $5k a month net, put ~1.5k for rent + food/utilities, and ~$3k in stocks/investment (after keeping a fixed ~$15k in savings in case of emergencies), the last $500 I have every month goes towards my fun budget. Sometimes I decide to put less in investments and decide to buy myself something nice for ~2-3k (a new guitar, a new PC, or in this case a VR headset) if I feel like splurging a bit.
I got a pretty nice job as a 29 year old.

I can't leave my house because I am too shy and I want to lose weight, will VR actually give me a decent cardio work out if I play something like Beat Saber?

The fundamental limitations of materials make that kind of shit unfeasible on a small scale. That's why these things are always massive, because that's the only way to get them working in a respectable way.

You're better off getting some inside out garbage and running around in a warehouse or field.

We already had nice computers and have sacrificed the dignity of normalfag adulthood (very expensive) for being VR morlocks

The Oculus Touch is the controller. And specific Oculus HMDs use different versions of it with no exceptions.
There's a big divide with Oculus' nasty walled garden but you can sorta get in with ReVive. SteamVR on the other hand is open to everybody but stuff can be a bit fiddly especially if you're on WMR.
Most VR stuff does just work but knowing how to tinker a bit goes a long way and it pays to do your research.

Unless you're over 500lbs, not really. Beat saber sucks by the way. If you just want to swing your arms around to get "cardio", you might as well play something fun like Skyrim VR.

Beat Saber is fun, you cynical fuck.

>You're better off getting some inside out garbage and running around in a warehouse or field.
Sounds like a good way to break an ankle or get murdered

Jesus Christ are you retarded? For one month put ~2k in stocks instead of ~3k - that won't fucking bankrupt you and you'll be able to afford VR.

Thrill of the Fight or Creed are the most rigorous VR workouts by a mile

Did you even read my post? I'm not you dumb fuck.

My bad I tough you're that guy.

>The fundamental limitations of materials make that kind of shit unfeasible on a small scale.
Well, these lazy ass engineer motherfuckers ought to take care of that then.

>getting that first expert+ clear

VR is rapidly shifting to cater to the lowest denominator which doesn't even have roomscale set up much less be willing to put a fucking VR treadmill in their cramped hovels
Thanks Oculus

>I was playing shit in the arcades 25 years ago that is miles better than anything in VR
You really haven't.

Has there been a half-decent MP boxing game yet? I don't want it myself, just seems like something fairly obvious

Wat? Rift S and Quest do roomscale much better than Rift 1.0

Astro Bot.

arms on the switch

That's not saying much given the CV1 wasn't even originally specced for roomscale and only hastily added it because HTC one-upped them.
But specs aside I'm talking about where the focus is going and Oculus does not want people to be anchored to their PC and I guarantee they've come to loathe the sort of enthusiast and tinkerer who would actually use a treadmill.

I just wanted to say that playing The Talos Principle in VR was a magical experience. Felt like I was really taken to another world. Absolutely surreal.

>tfw can afford VR
>but linux
>tfw quarantined to beta zone and can't use steam home with anyone
At least I can play beatsaber and HHHG

Oh it is and it works with linux, and it gets way more fun when you introduce mods into the mix.

>he never heard of dual booting
Just get windows for vidya, linux for everything else.

Attached: 1464714866776.jpg (2000x2000, 229K)

Fuck dualbooting, I'm not gonna enable microsoft's bullshit.

>Beat saber sucks by the way
>play something fun like Skyrim VR
Jesus christ.

This is literally for the best, the biggest thing holding VR back is the fact that not everyone wants to be anchored to a gaming pc to play on their few hundred dollar toy thus heavily reducing the amount of people willing to put money into the technology. The rift s is better than the cv1 in literally every way and inside out tracking is honestly the best possible direction for vr to go.

Thanks marketer-san, I can't wait for VR gacha

Why can't we find jobs in modern society? It isn't fair, bros, fucking TRANNIES are holding us down! I knew jacking off to linetrap was a mistake, FUCK

They hate poor/uneducated foreigners who don't speak their language. If you are fluent in the language, are not a disgusting English teacher, and have enough money (like I do), then you're in for a very comfy life full of privilege.

Gee golly Billy I wonder why people treat you like garbage IRL

Imagine being scared of trannies LMFAO literally cant relate

Delusional goblin

Yes. Playing for a few hours will get you sweating like a pig.

When it looks like a 2d picture?

No. Get a treadmill or something like that fatty

How do you have arguments in real life, when the person clearly isn't a tranny?

I have a dick son, my shit ain't snipped.
Good luck trying to drag this non argument around every time you get BTFO for being a poorfaggot throwing around opinions you don't even fully understand

No, you dumb fuck, that's disposable income, not savings.

Why did you shit it up, tranny?

Really makes me go "hmmm"

Why does that word make you so angry if it has nothing to do with you?

Attached: 1367871180197.jpg (788x761, 351K)

Banks in Japan use the word "savings" to mean the checking account that you withdraw money from (like at an ATM).
see: digi-joho.com/living-japan/165-opening-bank-accounts.html "types of accounts"
The more you know.

Ran this by a Japanese friend on Line and he says you're full of shit, stinky American pig

>tranny starts replying to himself
Now I understand the tranny = mental illness meme

Look, if you just stop projecting for, like, 3 seconds maybe you'll get it.

If you want a good experience you don't buy an oculus you buy a Primax or the StarVR at least. So you might add as well 1 grand on top of that. I really don't get why people settle with the oculus. It's fucking garbage

they have no market. and for arcades they can charge ridiculous values and still make some profit
i certainly wouldn't pay for this shit. artificial locomotion is a lot more practical and responsive

>i-i know you are but what am i
Come on dude...or thing. Sorry, what pronoun?

Why should anyone respect you, NEET? We're listening

VR is a gimmick that needs another 5 years to start being viable in terms of games and technology.

>StarVR
What the fuck is this, I've never even heard of it

Who are you quoting?

>tfw bought a Rift S

This.
It was really cool for the first few times I tried it, but it's so tedious to set up and not worth it at all

Careful, you'll upset Oculus' viral marketing division

100% this. Gilded!

See what I mean?

>Weeb friend
He's native jap, you faggot pretender

www.starvr.com
How?
It offers you about the same FOV as the Pimax. You can't buy it anywhere tho (in my country at least).

that literally is the lobby screen of a literal game

No it's 7 years actually.

I'm not kidding. If someone had reminded me that Oculus is legit Facebook owned and monitored I would have thought twice about buying it. Not even that paranoid, but there are a handful of companies out there that you should probably try to avoid.

still really like the Rift S though, but the more I can separate it from who's actually behind it the better. which is kind of hard since everything goes through their Oculus platform/store/"Home :-)"/space.

Why don't they just make VR but smartphones. In a way that you just buy a helmet for holding your smartphone which has charging and cooling for the phone. Develop shitty games vr that can run on a server and stream the gameplay for you in first person/third person what ever and problem solved. Kids would eat that shit by the shovels. No need for dedicated PCs ecery kid has a phone and they all leave PC gaming and console. If they would run a game like fortnite in VR kids would be playing that on their phones non stop.

He'll only give up if you take a picture of outside or something

Yeah bro that's totally not me *wink wink*

Stop responding to the shitposting Oculus shills, dumbass.

VR sounds like it'd be cool for a little bit but then just get boring now matter what the content is
that's why I'd never buy it

Just use oculus tray tool

I can't afford it either, I'd really wish these marketers would stop talking about it, I literally can't stop getting mad when I see a tranny oculus thread

that already exists and it is poorfag shit

>Develop shitty games
vr games are already shitty enough

>stream the gameplay
the latency would be retarded

Haha thanks fellow 4channer, it's so nice to fit in
