It's another remake of aimlessly shitting visual effects over everything indiscriminately with no regard for how all the choices blend together into a final portrait or how it changes the tone or meaning.
Like taking the obviously cartoony and illustrative Crash and covering him in detailed fur.

god of war 1,2,3 remasters were good. better framerate and they even made the character model and textures better.

Comparing Silent Hill HD collection to anything else is not really something you can do, never before was a restorative process of a video game handled so poorly, I doubt anything will ever top it.

There are more good ones than bad ones, Spyro and Crash look great, OoT3D and MM3d look good, as does the 3DS version of Snake Eater. for HD collections you have the Jak trilogy, PoP trilogy, Sly trilogy, and God of War collection. I've heard people say the PS3 version of SoTC is the best available.

Only bad one I can think of aside from SHHD is the version of Snake Eater that's in the HD collection. Certain aspects of FFXHD are fucked too.

Pretty much the entirety of Sierra adventure games that were done in the 90s. I didn't care for the Space Quest upgrade but the others were all much better looking. But sure, zoomie, only the last few years count.

DS1 Remastered is hit or miss. Some parts genuinely look worse (i.e. metal armour), but some really do look better.

Starcraft perhaps? Literally all it did was up the resolution and fidelity. I'm holding my tongue on Age of Empires DE since the devs insist on showing it with the optional bloom and fog turned on. I believe that it can look better with those settings turned off.

the reamake looks more realistic but the realistic depiction of a 60 year beach bum thief isn't something that's gonging to look pretty
