You have 10 seconds to explain why you don't play indie games.

because they're shit. the only exception are japanese doujin circles.
because theyre reddit and suck chunks
I play nearly all indie games that I buy during Steam sales. I just got Enter the Gungeon for $7 and it's been a lot of fun.
they are mostly basic and boring with a few exceptions.
What are AAA games?
Most of the ones I play from the genre I'm interested in, platformers, all share the same issue. The game's too zoomed out. I find games with small character sprites extremely unsatisfying.
Why?
They dont all have advertising that reaches me, devolver, northernlion and bisnap are my portals for indie games.
Something about the visual design associated with these small sprites is also usually disproportionate to their size. It seems Indie Devs know this issue but still try to convey satisfying visual design as if their sprite was SFIII kinds of good. It's non sensical and its always bothered me. It's also highly conductive to puzzle platformers ( The die & retry kinds of puzzle platformers ) more than anything which i'm less of a fan of than other platformers.
I do but they are more miss as of late for me. Spelunky is my goat. Trying dead cells on gamepass friday. Glad I held out.
But I do!
Oh boy this nigger plays obscure unplayable indies that instantly turn to shit when someone else plays it
Oh boy this retard has down syndrome.
Im a straight white male

>no underrail
>no cave story
No replayability
What gaem
rogue legacy has terrible floaty combat and platforming, its a terrible indie game
I like to ignore all games that aren't AAA big releases that spend all their budget on marketing while complaining about the state of vidya on Yea Forums.
Why would you list Sine Mora alongside games that are actually decent?
>its a terrible indie game
Indeed. But it's great to spot absolute retarded with no taste in anything.
Because it's a great game.
Is butcher any good? It's on sale for like 3.99
So, you pick one really old indie game, a freaking "artistic" indie game that no one remembers, i honestly can't think of it's name right now, and say that's how all indie games look like?
Despite, you know, the fact that almost every other indie game, particularly the 8-Bit themed ones, look nothing like that?
Also, let's ignore the fact that a lot of games are "retro" inspired, AKA, they are inspired by the look and gameplay of old games, and not exactly making 100% copies of old games and how they looked.
And some games do look great, OP even put some such games just for some examples.
i owned that fucking game
Aren't you the same mouthbreather that already got BTFO in the other thread?
Usually sidescrolling horizontal games where you continually progress don't have floaty mechanics, but games that take place in one space for a more extended period of time typically are floaty to allow you to dodge enemies and attacks. In Rogue Legacy, your jump is your main source of avoiding enemies and their bullets within a confined space, so you need it to be adjustable in height, otherwise it wouldn't really work. Also Rogue Legacy is very vertically focused with a lot of aerial enemies and is meant to be a platformer/bullet-hell mixture with open rooms, so that's another reason the jumping is floaty and adjustable. The game wouldn't actually really work at all with a very lateral nonadjustable jump, and the enemy design and map layout would need to be totally changed.
which one of you is the dumbass who beat two bosses and then quit because you kept dying and sucked at the game? You chalked up as the game being bullshit and unfair because you thought it was forcing you to grind, when in reality, you were just trash (the fact that you are complaining about a floaty jump probably means you didn't use it as intended to avoid bullets and enemies). You also complained about enemy variety despite these being 24 unique enemy types (not including bosses or remixes) and 70 when you include the upgraded variants (which have completely different sprites, damage, health, attacks, and movesets).
