Junko's the bitch who loves to see hope try to prevail in a system of utter despair. It's about exposing the worst in people. She became so bored in herself and her own despair that she threw herself entirely into the persona of Monokuma.
Junko's endgame is using the reality program to try to create a batch of hosts to download her brain into.
It's against Monokuma's character to condemn Chiaki as a blackened.
Just like how it's a pretty fucking weak in V3's case 1 that the first incentive is just "uhh do it or I'll kill all of you."

Thats fine. DR is one of the best series of the 2010s...unquestionably. The name and premise might scare some normies off but I've never seen anyone who plays it, hate it and want to stop. DR2 is more memorable with its twist, Nagito shenanigans, a more lively set of characters, color and variety, and longer trials though. That doesn't mean its better automatically but it does make a stronger impression. The part at the end of chapter 5 when you can physically feel that the world is ending, everything is corrupting, you start to see dead characters, the screen gets blotchy, the sky changes color all after an emotional trial that knocked out two prominent characters is one of the best moments i've ever seen in a game

Do you not understand how much despair it caused the rest of them to have to send innocent Chiaki, the embodiment of their hope, to her death? You've got Junko's ideals mixed up, the only reason she wants them to feel hope is so she can pull the rug out from beneath them at their highest point and mash her fucking bean until it's raw from the looks on their faces.

You need to go back and play DR1 if you think that.

agreed, better overall atmosphere and I felt more immersed with 1. I liked 2's chapter 6 more though

The atmosphere changes in each new area, and past the second one they stop even trying to make them seem related to the theme.
Also the whole purpose of Danganronpa is to be a thriller where suspense and intrigue make even mundane actions investing. Both 1 and 3 do a far better job because their settings actually fit the tone they were trying to go for

Suppose that's fair. Detective-ing is the main part of AA, though always has a large focus on characters and the change and developement. With a bit on the courtroom drama, so if you try it again you may like it more than you'd think
