Why? Theyre convenient and many retailers let you handpick what parts you want. Ive always bought prebuilt and never had issues. Building is for enthusiasts or people who would trade convenience for saving $100. (And theres nothing wrong with that)

Building still allows your to curate your parts to maximize your performance per dollar. Prebuilds are just "the best" in that price range which can result in bottlenecking. Price isn't the only reason to build.

Insurance and warranties are different things user, despite being similar. Plus, insurance is required to operate a motor vehicle by law. Yes I pay health and vehicle insurance, but those are basically required in this day and age.

How many warranties have you paid for and how many have you used? I would rather take the risk.

washing machines, dryers, a corsair waterblock, a motherboard, at least a few others I'm forgetting. The point is, if you buy second hand stuff, it's usually shitty and you'll have to replace it in a year or two anyway, or if you try and fix it, you spend more than you would if you just bought a new good thing that would last longer.
