I'm just starting on EDF 5 but if 4.1 is anything to go by, Fencer is the fastest class, just get the Javelin Cannon and never go slow again.

I know how to dash cancel in 4.1. In EDF5, there's no dash cancel anymore, they added it into the gameplay.
However, the low level dashes aren't much, and the consecutive dashes can't be spammed. Not only that, but most weapons feel likeluster.
I don't know. I love WD's lance and constant dodge mechanic. You can handle queens alone, trash, fly all the time, and go fast as fuck.

The plasma gun drains your core so hard it's not worth it. There's recoil, but not that much. Plus, the range of the explosion is damn big.
Graphic card is Nvidia or AMD?
If nvidia, it's in your nvidia control panel.

It's a Nvidia one and apparently it doesn't even have G-sync for it is a Geforce 630. Again, game runs fine but it's just the wilderness (Beach/Mountains) areas that are problem

Run windowed and deactivate vscun in the game. Try deactivating the shadows too.
It's likely that the drawing distance is taking a toll on your gpu, and your frame rate suffers from that.
Try looking at the sky/floor when it happens. If you get normal FPS, then you know it's the shit in your range of vision that causes it.

Don't forget to make your game borderless windowed with a software (Borderless gaming) or any other method, like installing special K in the game

Then that is the problem. Draw distance. Looking at the sky puts fps back to normal. Is there a way to limit Draw range or should i keep playing whack-a-mole on those missions?

Not really. Your pc is just not powerful enough. Maybe one could find the config files and play with them, but it hasn't happened, so it's either impossible or nobody cared enough.

Just deactivate vsync, shadows and anti aliasing, that'd do some things at least.
You could get nvidia inspector and set up a profile for the game and add more personalized settings too, tp draw some fps.

You can downscale the resolution as well, that's one of the most effective ways to get fps out of a game. It'll look like shit, but it'll be playable.

Yeah, it's the shit on screen that's dropping the fps. There are ways to squeeze out fps, but even with them, you'd hardly get 30 fps.
