My parents were super strict with mature games. I wasn't even allowed to play Doom shareware, I had to play it at a friends house. I got the Duke 3d shareware from a PC gamer disc I think, and I was at the computer store with my mom the next day and I brought over Duke3d and I said I wanted it and she said OK fine. It literally had a screenshot of the stripper chicks flailing their tits on the back of the box. Lucked out with that one.

Couch co-op and multiplayer with my best friend in Halo 3 was the happiest times of my life. This could be taken as kind of a sad thing, but I think it's more of a case of I reached peaks of human happiness that I don't think many people can even imagine are possible.

Very fond memories of Star Wars Battlefront for the same reason, but Halo 3 was just a better time. Crash 2 is the first game I have real memories of playing. I had other games like a PS1 Nascar game, and I think I played Croc and Sonic Adventure at some points in my early childhood, but I barely remember them. There are some murky memories of a PS1 diving/treasure hunting game. I also spent a lot of time as a shota at sleepovers playing N64, and later PS2 and Xbox. I had a good, bittersweet, childhood.

Sin and Punishment is currently my favorite game. I played it fairly recently. I quite like Nier: Automata as a modern game, I like MGSV and BOTW, I have some odd games that have stuck with me that I consider favorites, from previous gens, but Sin and Punishment is currently my favorite. It's pacing, insane story, and aesthetics ... it's an eye opener. Incredibly fresh.

Halo 3 got boring for me pretty quickly but I agree with you, there's not much better in this world than playing vidya with your friends. They did at first; however, as we got older, they quit because their interests became more hanging out in real life, playing xbox, and team sports. I was the only autist in the group too addicted to MMOs. So I did not join sports, buy an xbox, or hang out after school. They never truly rejected me from the social circles, but I became more and more irrelevant/ignored to a point in senior year I realized I was no longer truly cared for.

I also remember avoiding the Disney Channel like the plague. I was always somewhat of an outlier when it came to my generation. I've always had more of a soft spot for the late '90s early 2000s. It's where a lot of the music I grew up with came from and where a lot of the video games I grew up with cane from. I just turned 18 not even a full month ago but some of the defining games of my childhood were Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, and the NES Mario trilogy. Wouldn't change a thing about how I grew up though.

the game had different worlds you could go to, and each one had a theme, like greek mythology or time travel, and each world had a plot you had to do. so you had to go around those worlds and collect items and do certain things to progress. like in the greek mythology one, zeus went mad with power so you had to go to different gods and get items that would help you defeat him and make him stop being a dickhead. each world was isolated from others as far as i remember so items you got in one world wouldn't have any effect in another
