Am I sure glad I didn't buy on release

What is the main feature of the switch and how would you utilize it in a game?

being able to plug your handheld into the tv isn't a gimmick
its a feature

right side looks like it was made by Fisher-Price.

Joycons

Holy shit imagine being such a contrarian that you’d rather have the 2DS than the 3DS

2DS is not sturdier at all, it's cheap and flimsy.

It's not a contrarian pick
It feels better in the hands, it's more durable, it looks better, and its cheaper

You can use them to play any game and there's tons of coop/versus games on the e-shop. What's the issue?

>Switch Mini
>Same joycon joysticks without being able to get new Joycons
Nintendo's gonna fucking eat your wallet dude

>switch lite allows you to connect seperate joycons
>theres no ports on the joycons
?????how the fuck do u charge them

>It feels better in the hands
no
>it's more durable
lol no
>it looks better
no
>and its cheaper
the only accurate point

retard alert

The mini version also has the extended battery or it's the same shit?

I got a switch for free and it's hackable.

I know of a couple games you can't play without them, like the new Mario Party

>standard
hackable
>mini
unhackable
yep it's pretty clear which one is better

its optimimized differently

the base 2ds is my favorite handheld. so solid, good battery life, and it plays dragon quest 4-XI

Buy a charging grip goy

Any chance at all that the mini will get dock support? What the fuck is nintendo doing? Even the fucking vita had TV out. My fucking phone can do TV out. Maybe a 3rd party dock can do it?

$10 says they will do a New Switch model like with 3DS with the New model line up.

The gimmick is the part where you "undock" it for an entirely inferior experience. Considering how shit the switch is, that is saying something.

They took the gimmick further by forcing retards to think a switch poor edition was worth it.

I wish the switch didn't have the soicons, but a controller with a proper d-pad like the lite but with TV out.

Zero. They make the hardware so it cannot do it by design, it's very easy to do. The 3DS systems don't have TV out, you literally had to pay extra for modified consoles from a 3rd party from America or Japan to be able to stream them. But people still ate it up because it's muh Nintendo

If it did no one would bother buying the more expensive one.

>Regular Switch can host Smash Bros parties with your buddies on the big screen
>Switch Lite is cucked and unable to do that

So can the new switch be docked?

Tyrone thanks you for getting the mini. Don't forget the noise cancelling headphones I got you bro

>no hax
>"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""better"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

>2DS
Superior clamshell design was released later. That one looked like a literal toy for babies
>switch lite
While I do see the point of a smaller switch, I don't see why it doesn't fucking SWITCH.

No. It is really an all around worse item. To keep their old overpriced unit at the $300 premium.

enjoy not being able to hack your switch

Me too, can't wait to get the Switch Lite.

Stay seething

>2DS

you mean 2DS XL

Why yes, I, too, love the exquisite design choice of shitty flimsy Chinese plastic that feels like it's bound to get damaged, how did you know?

Remember you can do wireless communication with the Switch.

8 people all using their Switches in portable mode can still do 8 player mode in Smash with the wireless lan communication.

Be a chad and have 2 3DS
1 was my monster hunter machine the other was my animal crossing machine

But the gimmick part of the switch is becoming a handheld, by releasing a version of the switch that is only a handheld, it is effectively stuck in gimmick mode.

The Switch can be hacked again? I thought they fixed the hack a while ago so if you buy one now you won't get a hackable one.

It'd be worth it if the nu-switch was sold with an adapter to stream games to tvs.

For what fucking reason can this not connect to a TV? I have a switch, but the lite has a better form factor, a fucking dpad, and I like the aesthetic more. I would buy a lite if it would just fucking work like an actual switch jesus fuck

The gimmick is the useless tv out

>Clamshell
>Superior
Sure if you don’t mind the hinge becoming wobbly shit after a few months.

Because nintendo doesn't want you to.

All pre-revision units are hackable thanks to the hardware bug.
2nd generation units are hackable if the firmware is low enough. 7.0.1 iirc
New Mariko based units seem to not be vulnerable to current software attack vectors.

Only the ones with the 1st gen processor.
Market segmentation.

Nobody I know who has a switch ever uses it is a handheld.
They should have released a dedicated tv only switch.

Most people play it in handheld mode.

New Switch that’s basically a New 2DS XL

source?

Have you tried knowing people that are less... stupid?

Yeah the new Switches aren’t hackable

Nigga I like playing my Switch in handheld but I wouldn't touch the thing if it was a Lite on release a couple years ago.
That's like saying the Vita should've been the PSTV.

No.

thought so, glad you admit defeat.

Nintendo made a handheld tailored to my needs so who really won here?

>well I LIKE eating shit, so I win!
Alright then, user. Whatever you say

>noobody uses the main feature of the switch
Better tell that to roughly 70% of owners that use it in either portable only mode or both portable and docked.

>Better battery life
>Better performance
>Better screen
>Proper D-pad
>”buh.. buh it can’t connect to my 4k TV to show all those muddy textures on the big screen!!”
Lmao k.

It also can't connect to your CRT to give games an extra dose of soul.

Still has nothing to do with your original argument, but keep deflecting I guess.

>2DS
>Mushy buttons and monospeaker
>Switch lite
>Loses the main point of the console
>Better

Neither did your post I responded to, but keep backpedaling.

See

So to be clear, you CANNOT prove that more people like to use it in handheld mode, correct?

>>Better performance
>Can't even dock it

Switch can be played anywhere
Lite can be played anywhere
A tv out only allows you to play in one place, a place where you can already play without it.
Pretty pointless. Not to mention the stupidity of a tv out only switch

I can neither confirm nor deny that at the present moment.

What kind of inbred plays in the inferior mode when there's a TV around? Lite's not worth shit.

I don't regret my 3ds launch purchase. If I had fun with it then it wasn't a waste. The only purchase I would have regret that I can safely say would be the xbox one since the only games I wanted on that eventually hit steam.

Girlfriend might be using the tv.

It's for parents to buy their kids so they can watch 6PM news without their kid arguing over the TV.

Imagine playing video games in public spaces.

An ungimmicky switch would just be a box you plug into the tv

Inferior to you, maybe.

Thats 8 switches vs just one

Not everyone’s a reclusive neet afraid of the outside world and women.

>they will never make a gamecube 2.0
None of Nintendo's gimmicks have ever been good

I have both (pokefag) and I'd say 2D feels sturdier but is so much shittier aestetically, holy shit. The og 3ds is also very elegant, 3ds looks like a toy.

Even with a docked Switch, a Switch in portable mode can still wirelessly connect to a docked Switch.

I nearly always play my games docked so it's much better then the ds.

>3ds looks like a toy
2ds*

I wish this picture was real

It can be if you go outside.

I did and there werent any cute girls watching me play with my 3DS XL

Why do you lot care so much about aesthetics? Vapid twats.
It doesn’t matter how it looks. Nothing will change the fact it’s mostly plastic with not a shred of metal or glass to comprise its housing. Until micro PCs like the GPD Win take off every handheld apart of the OLED Vita is going to look like and be regarded as toy by normies.

Normies think the Vita is a toy too. If it's a dedicated handheld gaming device it's a toy. GPD gets a pass because it looks like a PC.

They look like they're having fun though.

I work in a restaurant, and I see kids bringing their Switch all the time and they have a parent or sibling use the joycons. It definitely serves its purpose

It’s a pretty sexy toy tho.

I play with the 3D on and I DON'T get an aneurysm. I can also hold the 3DS while playing Kid Icarus laying on a couch. Bow before your god, mortals.

Attached: i have special eyes.png (1440x900, 1.38M)

if this is your primary concern then you shouldn't be buying nintendo's eggshell shit in the first place

I hacked my "experimental console" tho to get free shit. Good luck doing that on the new one

The N2DSXL maybe, but the original model is fairly resilient

Hence I'm not buying them

But.. the Switch's gimmick is it being portable

Main feature is to be able to "switch" between a home and portable console. Doesn't really have a gameplay aplicatio. i can think of.

I’m more interested in your special hands.

>Switch original
>has great emulation and piracy scene
>can run docked and get better resolution and performance

>Switch lite
>no piracy
>no emulators
>can't be docked
>if a portable game runs less than 720p you're stuck with it

>tfw first gen switch that's hackable
>will retain value because of its lower serial number

I hope you made a clean eMMC backup.

The Switch's gimmick is right there in the name: it can switch. It goes from a TV display, to a tabletop display, to a handheld device. The Switch Lite only does handheld mode natively. You could technically do tabletop mode with additional accessories, but the small size and missing stand work against this.

>switch original
>has a strobe app

>switch lite
>has no strobe app

man wiiStrobe was absolutely fucking based

>2ds
>better

lol no, that's the poor 7 year olds option. Switch lite at least isn't a retarded redesign, but still lacking a feature is not "better".

The key is to support it by the pinkie. Then you can aim with the stylus and use the ring and pinkie fingers to further support the 3DS.

Attached: DSC_0129.jpg (4608x2592, 2.71M)

why would you buy joycons when you can just get a regular controller?
