Well?
Well?
All of them.
Gaia Online and Neopets
This is a stupid way of asking for "What do you think are the classic PC games?"
But... I can put them on my PC. Right now.
Stupid fucking consolefags
I would put a bookmark to piratebay and bittorrent on it
emulate new pc, have all of them
Command & Conquer
Age of Empires
Quake
Doom
Minecraft
Counter-Strike
Half-Life
Diablo
Warcraft
Yo mama porn collection XXXL
The Sims
fpbp
And half of these wouldn't run on a 486
they should engineer a tiny singleboard 486, then you could install anything you wanted
wut?
just buy a cheap windows 10 tablet and bam, here's your pc classic
Steam.
3D Pinball
Wizardry
Ultima
Might & Magic
Bard's Tale
>What games would you put on a Classic PC?
>CLASSIC PC
why have a classic PC when I can emulate everything on a modern PC
Chips Challenge
Solitaire
None, because I'm smart enough to just install dosbox instead of being a retard who'd pay money for that shit.
Then I'd probably play C&C or Tomb Raider for nostalgia.
well since we're doing this i'd rather have a fully functional PC that uses the pinnacle of older tech thats probably incredibly cheap to produce today
>Doom (including 2 and final doom)
>Duke Nukem 3D
>Descent (and 2)
>Mechwarrior 2 (and Ghost Bear but fuck Mercenaries)
>Tyrian
>X-COM
>Prince of Persia
>The Secret of Monkey Island
>Wing Commander 1 and 2 (maybe 3 I guess)
>Star Wars X-Wing/TIE Fighter
>Ultima Underworld 1 or 2
>Ultima 7
>Terminal Velocity
Assuming it doesn't have to work good on a controller:
>Command & Conquer (and/or Red Alert)
>Warcraft 2
>SimCity
stupid ideas need to be responded to with a slap
PC has no gaming identity of its own, name me 5 PC mascots? Oh yeah, you can't...
How about one that just plays Doom and only Doom (and megawads)
It could be a floppy disc with a micro HDMI port on it
stfu pirate scum
buy and consume products
warcraft
and by warcraft I mean TFT
and by TFT i mean just the custom games
and by that I mean just dota
This.
>people choosing Doom instead of Blood
Embarrassing
What controller should it use?
I vote the prototype Steam Controller that used a trackball. It's the most 90s gaming peripheral despite not being made
>Ever felt nostalgia for something that never existed?
Escape Velocity Override
Like Blood or not, it's inarguable that Doom is far more influential to the genre and industry as a whole and could never be left out of such a collection (bethesda jewry aside). Literally nobody knows what blood is in comparison
Also
it's not worth wrangling with atari just to get blood
System Shock
How about a mouse and keyboard faggot
This one
Doom guy
Nazi fighting guy
Guy that says "a bomb"
City planner angry about funding
Gandhi
You can't aim up and down in doom. People that worship it are cargo cultist.
that would be good for early Windows games because it's hard to emulate these OSs
>the console is built into the keyboard like a commodore 64
That would be slick.
You don't need to.
Also, blood's mouselook support was total ass and has vertical autoaim anyway.
based as fuck.
I would put DOSbox on a current PC, and then you can play ALL the classics!
Came here to post this
based
The chips challenge everybody played was the Windows version though not DOS
I'd put Classic Games
Unless the retard who wrote that headline defined what the fuck does he mean with "Classic PC". Is it an MMX? Is it a 486? Is it a Spectrum?
It says 486 user.
>Star Wars: Dark Forces
>Gabriel Knight.
>Warcraft II.
>Doom.
>System Shock.
>Kings Quest VII.
Hexen
Redneck Rampage
Funny enough, out of all these, the one that would kick the PC's butt the most... is minecraft.
yeah, but you'd have to include a crt with that, otherwise many old games would have fucked up aspect ratio on modern screen with square pixels
they haven't even made a PC 2 yet
C&C Red Alert
Shogo
Quake II
Blade Runner
StarCraft
Rainbow Six
Full Throttle
clippy
bonzi buddy
the PC strawman from those apple ads
that stupid penguin linuxfags have
jackie chan
Worms. Because no one mentioned it :(
I'd actually love to see modern refresh systems like the NuXT clone that Monotech makes, but for like the Pentium 3 / Geforce 3 era. Somewhere from 97/98 to maybe like 2002 or 2003. There are lots of games you can run from that era on modern PC's with workarounds or things like Nglide, but that's really the PC hardware generation that doesn't have good emulation options and also still has lots of issues running on modern PCs. PCem is great for running Win95, but it maxes out at like 300mhz and Voodoo 2. Still probably easier to just go out a build a system from that era though.
Doom
>minecraft
>486
what level of retard is this
Shogo is fuckin terrible, why do people like that game??
Catacombs 3D and Catacombs Abyss for sure
also Jill of the Jungle, Duke Nukem 3D and most of the adventure games from Sierra and LucasArts.
meet n fuck street race
Remember PC 1, oldfags? Such a good platform. Not like the piece of shit PC 2 that they make nowadays
Thinking Things

Bugdom
The Oregon Trail
Kid Pix
Mavis Beacon
Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego
Rollercoaster Tycoon 2
Doom

I remember the magazines hyping that shit for months when it was still 'mobile armor combat'.
Magic Carpet

Sneaking down to the family PC under cover of darkness to touch myself while browsing ancient porn sites. Listening for the slightest sound in case someone walked into the kitchen to find me mid stroke sweating profusely ashamed of myself.

Hercules card I imagine. The card for real machos.
Ahh, now THAT was a card! Youngsters these days will never know the blessing that is an 80-column screen
>486 mini
>with turbo button
Warcraft: Orcs and Humans
Pizza Tycoon
Colonization
Sam & Max Hit the Road
Sim City
Minesweeper
It depends on what time period you consider classic. "IBM-clone" period? MS-DOS 6? Windows 95/98?
dungeon keeper
that's all you need
Nigga, just get a raspberry pi.
Solitaire
Free Cell
Minesweeper
3D Pinball
Jesus christ thats the first thing that came to mind when i saw the thread
>miniature ASIC-based 486 PC (so, better accuracy than you'd get out of DosBox on a RPi)
>USB and Bluetooth support
>serial link and IPX emulation over Ethernet (a la DosBox)
>new DOS version with FAT32 support, ships with a Norton Commander style shell
>curated selection of games included, but you're free to install whatever you want
Skyrim lol.
ITT: kids post shit from 1999+
>It could be a floppy disc with a micro HDMI port on it
Make that a USB C port and/or a Bluetooth adapter and we are in business
Then you can hook up mouse and keyboard as well
ski free
>minecraft
>classic
Chip’s challenge
>ASIC-based 486 PC
>USB and Bluetooth support
I'm afraid that ain't how it works, senpai. It's literally easier and cheaper to just uses emulation on an ARM-based meme machine.
A poorly coded nintendo 64 emulator
> not going for maximum comfy
PC2 when?
Sometimes i miss DOS
late 80s/early 90s stuff like Quest For Glory, Prince of Persia 1, Wolf 3D, Police Quest, Treasure Mountain, Mario Teaches Typing
>Solitaire
>Minesweeper
>3D Maze Screen Saver
>MS Paint Classic
>Are you sure you want to activate sticky keys?
>It is now safe to turn off your computer.
Fuck, i feel like a zoomer.
My first games were Wolfenstein on dad`s work PC (no idea about hardware) and Half-life on home Pentium 2.
I had plenty of old pixelated games (like Lands of Lore or Goblins), but never owned 486.
Were there gems that could not be played simply with dosbox?
Thief 1/2
Deus Ex
System Shock 2
Age of Empires 2
Doom
all of them
You know what I want.
Everyone always says the oregon trail but the yukon trail was the better game.
>no pinball
Solitaire
>Solitaire
>Minesweeper
>3D Maze Screen Saver
>MS Paint Classic
>Are you sure you want to activate sticky keys?
>It is now safe to turn off your computer.
>Pinball
would it have a keyboard and mouse?
Leisure suit larry
And that's a good thing, PC means total freedom, I guess that might be a little scary for nitentodllers and sonykids.
If I think 'PC video games' I think Doom and Team Fortress 2. I know they're not exclusive to PC but when I think of them I think of a computer.
Thank you
chex quest
No DOSBox can run virtually everything, and for the few things it can't like demoscene shit that uses hackery for cool effects you can used DOSBox X which is a more accurate branch.

hey this is kind of a retarded question but is there any kind of modern OS designed to be compatible with old games? I'm aware of DOSBox but what about a discrete OS?
don't be a smart ass and say Windows 95
Can Blood even run on a 486?
putt putt the car
>Bugdom
mah nigga
sorry i can't list every fucking pc game ever jesus christ
modern OS, no not really, there are things like Nglide which is a glide wrapper that lets you play voodoo supported games on windows 10. There is also PCem which is a PC emulator that scales from basically the XT series to a half decent windows 95 machine. As far as a native OS designed to run old software no not really.
Lemmings
Sim City
King's Bounty
X-Wing
Police Quest
King's Quest
Leisure Suit Larry
Loom
Wolfenstein 3D
>90% of the thread is pcfags jerking off over their perceived intellectual superiority and ability to pirate instead of just discussing classic PC games
Shocking.
Lego Island
Thats all nothing else
The other 10% is people suggesting running STALKER on a 486.
How is that funny, Minecraft runs like trash and is the newest by a large margin.
Freelancer. I don't understand why Microsoft hasn't re-released this masterpiece in modern systems, I mean atleast in Xbox consoles, so there's hope it could come to PC remastered.
I remember I used to imagine how it would be like living in a space ship, traveling from system to system, like a homeless guy living in his van, only his van has 10 torpedoes and 20 laser turrets. Like a space cowboy, Qadhs`xcnla`soqqawe`jqeqwalqdal. That's "YEEHAW!" in Klandasian btw.
Based beyond words.
It literally isn't, are we even in the same thread?
>Only 1 mention of Rollercoaster Tycoon 2
>No Zoo Tycoon
You are all a bunch of faggots.
>holocoaster tycoon
Kid's Choice was the shit.
They did, it's called 64-bit architecture. Backward compatible with 32-bit games but they dropped support for 16-bit games.
You forgot Homeworld
That's because it was written by a bot for MAXIMUM CLICKS
This
Total DOS Collection
>ARM
>emulating 486
They're more likely to do a complete rewrite of the game than attempt to emulate something only high-end phones worth upward of $700 can do acceptably at the cost of 4-hour battery life.
Diablo
We're already on PC 3 grandpa.
Skyrim
Fallout 3
Fallout 4
>classic PC
uh, what?
No one said anything about DOS. Windows 3.1 ran fine on a 486.
Windows 3.1 is a shell on top of DOS.
>phones
Which is irrelevant when you're talking about Windows vs DOS versions of software.
My point being you can't emulate 486 or even 386 acceptably on a cheap ARM device.
You're retarded, even the 700mhz arm cpu in the original RasPi could emulate a 20mhz 486 with SVGA and soundblaster 2 support. The newer ones could run even faster without breaking a sweat. There is a fucking 386 emulator for nintendo ds retard.
add descent
>tfw emulating XP right now
So many games
Fuck I can hear the music in my head
what a fucking moronic article
