I remember a time when I was actually interested in Gacha games as a concept. I liked the idea of being given a set of characters to play, and having to make due with them through a game. I thought it would be a neat challenge, and wanted to see how it would be handled.

Alas, the audience is all about getting the one the want and chucking aside the rest, so the games are made with that behavior in mind.

If you're just in it for the story and want to practice what you're learning, pick up the nip version. I think Global's on an accelerated schedule since we don't really have dead weeks, so it should catch up eventually. Every content added is permanent, so feel free to just play at your own pace.

I think emulators were frowned on by the devs, but no one reported being banned for using one so far, so it's up to you.

Of my gatcha games I’d recommend Destiny Child the most since it’s by far the most generous out of all of them. Fate Go is Fate Go, Grand Summoner is fine, King’s Raid got full 3D which is neat, I rarely play Azur Lane anymore, and Buriedbornes is the phone game I’d recommend to people who hate gatchashit.
Of my offline games Cytus is the only one worth talking about. It’s got great music and it’s a pretty good rhythm game

The 5* rates are awful, so prepare for some reroll hell if you want to start with one. God save you if you want a specific 5* waifu to carry you through.

Impressive specs for what can be found at $190-$210 shipped after a bit of quick eBay hunting. I have a Samsung S10+ myself, but that's only a modest bump in all areas for a significant price increase. 64GB -> 128GB storage, 6GB RAM to 8GB, and SD845 -> SD855 CPU. Can be found for around $500 used/OB. I guess it makes sense when you consider all the other things too, like the display, battery, wireless charging capability, and so on.

It makes me wonder what Sony smartwatches would be like, since I enjoy and use my Gear S2 very frequently. An open-source smartwatch manufactured and supported by a major company like Sony sounds pretty nice. I hope smartphone manufacturers work on implementing more desktop environment systems like Samsung DeX though, so cool.

I really just can't stand using onscreen touch controller for menu based games. It feels fucking awful, is way slower, and half the time your fingers will cover text you kind of need to read.

How should someone who is addicted to p2w/gacha mobage heal and recover from said addiction? I haven't been on the games too long, and have managed to only spend $1 of currency I got for free during sign-up. However, it's become something that's consumed my days for the past several weeks, and put a halt to personal progress in my creative projects and training. I understand and realize that it's not going to make me happy ultimately. However, I also believe that it's helped improve my broken libido somehow, possibly due to the constant dopamine hits and erotic game elements. So, I have concern that if I eliminate these games, my libido and sexuality may be lost, of which I believe to be very important to my creative endeavors.

It bothers me to give it up when I have made a lot of progress in the games I've played (though that's likely a sign of it being an addiction). Moreover, I'm concerned that I don't have anything that is similarly rewarding, and neither exercise nor creative endeavors reach success enough for me to feel any kind of consistency and satiety. I realize it is in my best interest to stop, but I don't want to feel like I have 'nothing'. I'm not sure what to do. If you have any thoughts about this after reading my post, please do express them to me. I want to save myself from this Hell before it gets worse.

I started playing castaway paradise, it's what animal crossing pocket camp should have been, it a good time sink game if you don't mind seeing ads for freebies.

You get used to it, at least I did. Those Sonic ports are the best so I powered through it.

If you can handle aggressive gacha/stamina bullshit and designs that are attractive but not unique, Honkai Impact 3rd. The gameplay is very good; it's a simplified Bayonetta-like with a 3-girl team mechanic with hotswapping. It runs at 60FPS with very few dips on my phone, when I care enough to play it.

I literally couldn't get addicted to them even if I tried because their all just shallow as hell RPG's tied with the most god forsaken hell-birthed anal shit smear of any videogame mechanic ever created.

I play two mobage with heavy p2w elements, but I've grinded them enough that difficulty has become largely trivial, so it's just tapping and repeating the same monotonous actions to see numbers go up and unlock pictures, skins, and so on. I think I'm at the point where I can break away without it bothering me too much (I can always look up image sets online, after all). The issue is that it has, by waking me up to my libido, made me realize how little my internal reward mechanism is activated every day. I knew that I didn't find anything rewarding in my day-to-day life, and I don't really find the games rewarding either, but what they do offer is consistent progression in something. It reminds me of when I used to lift before some injuries and chronic health problems.

Ultimately, if I could find this instead in creative endeavors, I would. However, I find that I'm too un-stimulated and mentally blocked when I try my hardest in them. Arena of Valor is basically Heroes of the Storm with its emphasis on teamfighting/skirmishing except actually good. It just got fucked because of Chinese P2W greed, with every new hero being overpowered and then getting nerfed.

user, I’m going to be really serious here and say that your problems run deeper then what I can help with. It seems to be that gatcha was the catalyst you needed to discover this fundamental issue that you have, and that at this point you may really benefit from some professional help. I’m not saying you need a psychiatrist or even a therapist, but a counselor may be the thing you’re looking for. Think of a counselor as a casual-level therapist. They’re not going to prescribe you any pills (the most they’ll do is give recommendations), but what they can do is help you identify your problems and help you come up with the best strategies to deal with them. I went to a counselor and it did wonders for me, so I really think you should give it a shot
