the camera zoom is horrible with the pc version but you can probably mod it out. aside from that I thought it was okay. was my first ever playthrough and I did it on hard mode which was pretty challenging for a ff game

Nope. I re-installed the original 2000 PC port the other day. Works absolutely perfectly on Windows 10 without any tweaking, but I also grabbed a patch to allow it to render at native 1440p and one to replace the butchered MIDI music with the PS1 versions. Fuck remasters.

To hell with the shitty "remaster" with blurry backgrounds and silly faces. Just emulate the original. That gives you a vastly superior experience to the so-called "remaster", both visually and soul/feel wise. Also it looks better than native PSX hardware in some ways (more detailed faces etc). Pic related is the best way to do it (any other settings only degrades or muddies the graphics). If the pixels are too big for you just use 640x448 instead.
