Is balanced really that bad? Feels like a very slightly slower version of the acceleration class. Turning and drifting feels mostly the same.

Can't play turning class worth crap though.

Turn and balance need a buff of top speed. Accel and speed need a nerf that actually makes them have less optimal turns. Maybe not both but accel and speed don't have flaws, turn and balance do just by not being able to go fast enough.

You're insane if you think accel and balanced feel remotely similar. Balanced has a weird input lag thing going on along with always feeling like you're driving on ice.

It only feels bad if you go from playing a lot of accel then switching to them. On their own they feel okay. Turn characters are the weird ones because they're so slow they can't make some jumps that other classes can without turbo

I don't think I understand what you mean. Whenever I hop or drift it i've never felt a delay between my input and what happens on screen. Speed never straightened up like I thought it would when I initially played if that's your meaning. It's a problem on my end user I don't know what you mean when you say lag.

I really don't like it. Why did they go with the .jpeg warps instead of a nice scenic drive around one location? The 90 degree turns make it even less enjoyable for me. Also its very easy to go off the track, even though it looks like you should be able to drive beyond the wall.

Beenox said they explicitly designed it so there wouldn't be any intentional shortcuts. The closest thing to it is the minor cut through the patch of grass in the wizard duel section, but you have a 50% chance of falling on the stone railing and Sparx will save you even if you made it over the grass. You won't bounce off the railing.

I went from only ever play acceleration, did all platinum relics and oxide challenges with acceleration and placing top 3 consistently to playing balanced this GP and I'm still most placing top 3.

Tbf my overall performance has gone down some, just not enough to be worth noting. It just feels like acceleration jr to me.

Speed feels drastically difference and I do alright with it.

Turning just feels like absolute dog shit and I can't perform at all.

Meh. The skin can be buy separetly. That's what I did for Wizard Komodo today. The paints aren't that good to be honest, because the decal are barely visible with them. I have not gotten a mask in first place since the update. Although I have gotten back to back shields way more frequently, especially in second as it seems they've removed mask from second place's potential items even though sometimes they're the ones who need it the most if the gap between them and first is too large.

It used to be, until they changed edge collision detection half way through the last GP. It's very easy to take that shortcut now.

So long as he holds SF and gets around corners faster (which getting Good boosts does; chunks your reserves but tightens your turning arc slightly, a lot more noticeable on Turning/Balanced than Speed, but is inferior in general to correct u-turning) it does not matter. Optimizing this map as Balanced without the glitch shortcut is literally getting as tight of a snake as you can in the first lap until the first turbo pad. 47 second first lap is pretty standard, 46 would be very good.
