Not that bad just feels empty of stuff to do. I was playing in the weekend and I've found and made every resource available without evolving once and you can't command npc monkeys well enough. And bare bones fighting system where you are only reactive, never the actual attacker.
And that chains into this if you give players a tutorial explaining basics they have done 30% of the game already so it's necessarily about trial and error.
If they keep developing content for this it can be subnautica ape version and call itself an odyssey

The game isnt bad, It's just a rather new genre combination so its lacking in some ways.
It needs offensive capabilities instead of just counters
It needs aiming when throwing
The monkey AI needs huge improvements, enemy AI less so but still
There need to be actual consequences to dying, especially getting your base overrun by a tiger, they just refuse to kill off AI except through status effects
The cutscenes are okay, the quick time events during crafting are fine but the quick time events during combat make the game way too easy once you get some evolution going

The exploration is fantastic,the movement is great.
The graphics are good
Nice progression speed
Just climb home to the pack and switch to an adult?

12hours in and I'm liking it so far just wish they'd make some qol improvements like managing your clan which is a chore right now, I always play solo and my clan is for reproduction purposes only because I don't want to deal with really retarded apes

That's correct, because prior to 2019 the game didn't exist. It couldn't have been the worst game ever made in 2018 because it wasn't out yet.
