Play Thief.
Play Thief

More like...
play dishonored

WHAT DID I TELL YA
IS THAT A THREAT? YOU SHRIVELLED OLD MAID! YOU GOING TO PRICK US WITH YOUR SEWING NEEDLES?!
The fucks a taffer
which FM is that?
>beat the first two dozens of times
>played all of the "high rated" FMs and a lot of the shitty ones as well
I need more
GIVE ME MORE
T2X?
Done
Looks like cybertrash 2077
But I already have dear.
Dark mod?
a fucker
they are still making FMs for 1&2, you could try new ones
also did u know you not only have the dark mod, but also thief 3 FMs as well? someone even modded rope arrows in
I've had mixed feelings while playing DM. Have not been able to finish it, same as T3. Also hesitant on playing Thi4f.
I use thiefmissions and the latest FM for the first two was Christmas 2017. Neat about the rope arrows.
Particular theme?
Already am, Taffer
It's fun.
Hammer, anvil, forge and fire, chase away The Hoofed Liar.
Roof and doorway, block and beams, chase The Trickster from our dreams.
Thiefmissions.com isn't updated anymore, it doesn't even have the 20th Annversary contest missions.
Which site do you use?
taffersparadise.co.uk
thiefguild.com
There is also this.
ttlg.de
Thief was really popular in Krautland for some reason.
Were you the user looking for a gothic city game yesterday?
Thief
In a few respects 4 is a Dishonored ripoff although it plays way differently and worse. Ultimately Dishonored feels more like Thief than 4 despite its simplified stealth. It sucks.
Damn. Does the story suck too? I managed to get through the Thief 3, which was a big push back in almost every gameplay aspect (the open world maybe had some potential, but was only pandering int the end), only because I got invested in the City.
The story is incoherent and the worldbuilding of the originals (Hammerites, Keepers, pretty much everything) is ditched aside from a few references.
Nothing feels better than finding secrets
Especially in these older, more "primitive" looking games.
Custom maps for old games are really appealing to look at and it's hard for me to explain why. I think it's because you can actually interact with all the fancy architecture.
It's because they often use high res textures; Low Poly + High Res is really underrated.
The fact that they also don't use shitty fancy post-processing bullshit, also helps a lot.
Opinion on Thief 3? Only one I've played.
Who owns the rights to Thief right now?
It's only a matter of time before they attempt to make a Thie5
The weakest of the three good ones. It's not horrible, but it's a typical example of a new game wanting to do more and ending up less enjoyable.
Play the first two
Actually better on xbox than on pc, low point for the series.
Doubt it. The last one tanked and previous ones are getting progressively older. Still better chances than Arx Fatalis 2 tho.
If you liked it in spite of its flaws make sure to grab 1 and 2. TDS was my introduction to the series and playing Gold and TMA after I discovered some of my favorite games, both have much more massive and complex levels, better movement controls, rope arrows and generally a better execution of the setting.
Thief spawned entire generations of its own fan missions, search for Thief FMs and prepare to be amazed, there are practically more FMs than custom Doom maps at this point.
Chalice of souls, it's really good
>I've had mixed feelings while playing DM. Have not been able to finish it
What were you playing? The default missions?
What's really awesome is the new mappers joining the community. Around 2010 a lot of the old TTLG folks quietly retired and I worried that someday FMs would die but the anniversary contest brought in a lot of talented new faces.
learn DromED
>Hey, I'm going to play Thi4f tomorrow. Ya wanna come with?
>T-uh! Couldn't pay me enough!
>Whaaat? You soft-belly! The thief have got these new stealth skills with slow-time. Last time I was playing, (almost laughing) there was a real murder spree.
>Nah, nah! It makes me sick! When I was a kid--
>Huh! Surprised you're even in this hobby.... (Falsetto) 'Oo the blood, it just turns my poor tummy!'
>Shut up, you taffer! You want stealth? You should've played it years ago! Tell ya...the thief then? They were something to see. That thief, they didn't need no slow-time and cinematic-takedowns, and upgrades, and all those gimmicks you straps to 'em now!
>No slow-time? What'd they do? Just swing at each other?
>Huh! Naaah! The thieves back then, they had skills to not be seen at all! And manual combat!
>Thieves? Yer taffing me! They look pretty mangy harmless, long as they're not using auto-aim.
>That's why I can't stand the games now! You don't know what you've missed. They just don't make thieves like they used to....
>Whoa.... sneaky thieves. Woulda liked to see that....
>there are practically more FMs than custom Doom maps at this point.
nigga you been living under a rock for the past 26 years or something?
still FMs are fucking great though
Stop taffing, he's going to believe you and have a wrong conception of the meaning of the word for his entire life
Oh yeah I really enjoyed 3, awesome atmosphere
It's not happening.
what's this
> play Thief
> posts subpar fanmissions
Absolutely plebeian.
I just beat 2 for the first time, AMA
Did you like Casing the Joint and Masks?
Did you skip Soulforge?
I don't like playing fan missions because they don't have Garrets voice actor doing the intro and in-mission monologues.
having french dudes trying to play characters is really funny and endearing
also notstephenrussel neural network thingy when?
>Stephen Russel neural network
That's a brilliant idea
I'm afraid Peterson being butthurt about it set that plan back by quite some time.
I did, but they seemed kind of lackluster in terms of things to accomplish during a mission, even though I played on expert
Do you mean the last mission? Hell no, it became one of my favorite missions. The mission itself seemed ok, learn how to control the beacon, lure the servants into the cathedral, fuck Karras over. But then it became much more exciting when I learned I had to basically make a beacon from scratch and change the settings on each tower. It took me around 2 hours, but I enjoyed it very much. Karras' constant teases and speeches were a nice touch and getting to meet him, although behind a glass, was a sudden but welcome surprise.
I tried playing it but I couldn't tell where I was going in the second mission.
I really enjoyed the first mission in Thief 1 and a few missions from Thief 2 though.
Just saying Thief has an enormous modding scene if you can even call it that when there are multiple entire campaigns and countless FMs.
It's not a good game. Dropped it on the zombie level.
Lmao he didnt even reach the maximum spook levels in the cathedral
I bet you'd like it if someone could make you say anything convincingly with your own voice.
Its just an AI stop being such a whiny bitch.
