EVERSPACE is probably the best space sim in the last 10 years.
Well, there's all the other Freespace 2 mods, as well as Freespace itself.
Aside from everything else that's been made in the FS2 engine, there's also the Wing Commander series and the X-Wing series. Ace Combat also has similar gameplay, only with jet fighters instead of space fighters.
Holy shit, what FS2 mod is that?
Damn, I really should get back to modding FS2
X2 if you need cabin, X3 if not.
It's called Diaspora, and it's not just a mod, it's a standalone total conversion. You can get it for free right now if you want.
To be honest, I didn't much care for it, but I really liked what it did with the gun sight, using a pipper instead of a lead indicator. I liked it so much that I learned how to modify the tables to use Diaspora's sight in all the FS2 stuff. I refuse to play without it now.
I played that mod. It was pretty good, but I wish it was a lot longer. I'm glad we got something for a BSG game at least.

i feel like space games come up with the best titles
Colony wars on ps1
X3:AP.
God why the hell can't they get a sequel right?
Halo's UNSC ship names are the best
Did anyone her play Elite:Dangerous?
Is it recommendable?
God I want more of that game so bad.
Ever played Euro Truck Sim? It's kinda like that but in space.
Depends on how many hours you're trying to spend in it. It's a great game for about 60-120 hours but you won't reach endgame anaconda fuckery, which is fine because that's when you'll start questioning if the grind was worth it.
I haven't played it in a while and there's been a few changes since then but, if you really love space sims, I think it's worth getting. You'd probably get at least around a good 20 or 30 hours out of it before you realize "Oh. This is all there is." which I think is a decent amount of play time. If you want hundreds of hours of riveting gameplay then look elsewhere. Ignore people who claim it's just Euro Truck Simulator in space. Combat is the funnest thing about the game and last time I checked ETS2 doesn't have combat.
>Combat is the funnest thing about the game
Combat in Elite has always sucked compared to games that focus on it.
I'm still not sure how to play this properly. There's like an RTS element where you can move your fleet around in tactical view. You can switch ships you're controlling at any moment. You can target subsystems of capital ships. Each mission takes maybe 5 minutes to complete. I think I'm having fun with it, but I'm not sure. Am I missing something? Or am I expecting Ace Combat in space, but it's not Ace Combat in space?
Erm, all of them? There isn't a special feature in your screenshot.
I didn't say Elite is the best combat game ever, I just said it's the thing that is most fun about the game. And it is fairly decent combat. It was better before engineers though.
>am I missing something?
Probably a vr headset
I saw a cool space game being announced at gamescom but I don't remember the name
everspace 2
most retarded post of the day
That's correct. But VR headset won't change much in terms of gameplay.
Is it any good on console?
