Are Dark Souls 2 and 3 worth buying? I suspect that Dark Souls 1 was the peak of the DS experience and the others are just chasing the dragon.
Are Dark Souls 2 and 3 worth buying...
When das2 came out I was completely disgusted with it: the graphics, the move sets, the controls, everything. Years pass by and I try scholar of the first sin for ps4 and I’m changing my mind. Having a good time with it desu. Das2 isn’t better than 1, but it’s not bad either. Same for das3.
They're on sale on the humble store, can't decide whether to buy them or just be happy that I played the peak of the series with 1 and call it a day.
DS2 is unironically better than 1. 3 is bad compared to every other FromSoft game but still better than 90% of games in general, which is a testemant to FromSoft's talent.
I was disappointed with Dark Souls 3. I hadnt played Dark Souls 2. But too much had changed from Dark Souls 1. If DS2/3 had the same feel as DS1 and had just been new maps and new enemies. Theyd been great.
But the poise shit. The framerate changes. The superfast enemies. I didnt like it. Especially ontop of enemies that were just mixtures of movesets from old bosses. It didnt sit well with me.
Dark Souls 2 and 3 are great.
That’s because DS2 was a huge let down at launch. It’s not a bad game but it’s not what fans expected.
Nahh for 2, yea for 3
They're both very different games, ds2 is more rpg like and the combat feels slower and more methodical and ds3 way faster and also more accessible. One of the things they both suck at is lvl design tho, you liked the huge interconnected world of the first game? Though shit.
they're all basically the same game
3>1>2
Imagine thinking 3 belongs anywhere but dead last of All FromSoft's soulslike games
>MSC image in OP
>DS thread
I hate when people use a pic unrelated to the content
But Dark Souls 1 is only good for the first 2/3 of the game, then is shit for the last 1/3, except for the atmospheric last boss fight.
the right answer
>see OPs pic
>think oh nice a MSC thread!
>DS shitter instead
What a shame...
Make a MSC thread, I'll drop in
I’m not gonna give my opinion on which is better because that’s not gonna help you come to a conclusion I’d say buy em all they’re all enjoyable and fun games in their own right, definitely worth it.
3 is the most polished and features a generally consistent level of quality over most of the game unlike das1, which starts off incredibly strong and falls off after O&S.
Das2 isn't even really on the same scale. You can tell it's the B-team making it. It's good, it just feels like a 75 to Dark Souls' 90.
DS1>DS3>DS2. In 1, the enemies movement was balanced around the players but in DS3, the enemies move around much faster than the player can, a lot like Bloodborne but the player character still moves at the same speed he did in DS1 which makes catching and punishing bosses difficult. DS2 is still worth playing but it feels really disconnected compared to 1 and 3.
