I got into the genre recently and really like it. Looking for recommendations what would you guys say is the best one?
What is your favorite survival horror game?
based
This is one of my personal favorites. I also recommend the first and third game, as well.
most scary: fatal frame 2 and silent hill 3
best story: silent hill 2, rule of rose
coolest puzzles stuff: haunting ground and resident evil 1
This movie actually wasn’t bad
Would you happen to know if the Final Frame games emulate well?
Honestly not sure, but I'd say it is worth taking a crack at it.
How was the movie?
Bad, they just try to tie the monster designs to a cursed book and they pop out of the book and go "boo spooked ya"

is this a sequel? Or is it just a remaster of the original?
>silent hill 3
I thought silent hill 1 was the scariest.
3 had some cool stuff like the knocking and the really aggressive atmosphere and enemies but sh1 just gets to me more somehow.
I think it's the soundtrack
It's a REMAKE.
You don't need to play the original, 2 is better in every single way.
If you can get over how primitive it is to play, SH1 is definitely #1.
Though personally SH4's atmosphere worked best for me. Not as straight forward scary as the other 3 but I felt more immersed in and affected by the atmosphere.
I think I should absolutely say the original Silent Hill series, but honestly I don't really feel like any of them are really SURVIVOR horror games on their default settings
like the elements are there, but you have to play them on hard or very hard to even struggle with the enemies or have to think about using your resources a bit, if you play them on normal you won't have to think about ammo or health items, you find a shitload of them and the enemies barely try to attack you
it's still my favourite overall horror series and they're great psychological horror games, it just doesn't feel like they're really about surviving
if I'd have to pick a favourite survival horror game it would probably be one of the resident evil games or maybe the evil within, TEW 1 and 2 were both really fucking tense on akumu and classic mode
I heard Evil Within 1 on Akumu was kinda broken. Like the game wasn't really designed for it and feels cheap as a result.
I wouldn't call them survival horror either really. Especially 2 and 3 you're flooded with ammo and ampules as long as you're not taking every single fight trying to clear out random trash in the street you can easily run past.
4 handled it the best where you had very limited resources and couldn't defeat certain enemies by just attacking them like the subway ghosts which I thought was awesome and wish more games would do that.
i enjoyed cry of fear. decent fps gameplay, some genuinely creepy environments, and mixes in just enough jump scares to keep you on your toes (the first one is silly, though). conversations are basic but feel authentic because of it.
