SAM is fun and easy. As long as your pressing buttons you'll be doing okay. Ignore the other poster, it's the "easiest" one to do high damage with because you can't really screw up to badly with SAM.
DRG is the easiest and the only pain in the ass is using dragon sight. Bit punishing if you lost BoTD but it's almost impossible to lose unless you're braindead.
NIN is the big brain DPS and you gotta remember your mudras by hand. Wait till 5.1 to play it imo.
MNK is the simplest to play but really easy to screw up. It's kinda like playing DDR but once you remember the chart it's pretty good. Your battle plan is really easy to remember.

That's not hard or "big brain" in the slightest though. The only button inputs you actually need to remember in a raid setting (where shit actually matters) are 1-2-3, 3-2-1, 1-2 and maybe 1 if you have bad ping. You can literally memorize this shit in 30 seconds of just pressing buttons.

Lorewise a Nuhn wouldn't be going out and adventuring, they are sometimes the leader of the tribe and its main breeder.

Low skill floor, high skill ceiling. Your job performance is directly tied to how well you know each and every individual fight, since you need to move as little as possible to get the most uptime.

Try out both current EXs to get a feel for how the job plays under different circumstances. Titania you can preplan the entire fight, but Inno you need to be able to keep your rotation going while near-constantly moving, so it's good practice for weaving your procs and Swift/Triple.

Aether has a dead community but good for raiding imo. They're also filled with twats who get mad at literally EVERYTHING. Someone always has to bitch in LoTA during alliance roulettes.

Primal is a bit more active but they can get "Yea Forums-ish" and meme heavy. Apparently filled with mexicans but I think that's a recent thing.

Crystal is the most active but the raid scene is significantly lower than the other two. Players are a bit lower than the average but you'll usually do fine. World feels a lot more alive in here imo.

Everybody was caught off guard by that. It was really surprising and cool to have him become so prominent and to have being a Dragoon be so important to the plot. There aren't any jobs that are that related to the main story, but plenty of the jobs have some relation or deal with main story characters. Dark Knight is important for looking in on the character and personality of the Warrior of Light, Monk has a little bit of stuff dealing with Stormblood, Yugiri references Ninja stuff if you've done it, Summoner has you killing several Ascians and the training buddy is Y'shtola's half-sister, etc.

The issue is its mainly the western servers that have these problems. The japanese players don't see a problem with the system, because they have active communities in the housing wards of people using them to connect and interact with people as intended.
Western players instead see a house as a status symbol, so they get it and lock it so they can just claim they own one but rarely ever use it, and so wards on our servers are empty because they ignore their house and just chill in Limsa or other hubs.

onions definitely. I don't even know why they sell so well. Level 20 companion is a meme. Try to make gil from your crossbreeds on the way to making onions as well.

What I do is almonds + chocobo color food (from Allied seals) to make sylkis bud seeds.They all crossbreed the same so feel free to mix them up as you like. They will occasionally make mandragora seeds instead but that is fine because they are used in the other cross breed. The foods all sell nicely but it's a volatile market since it's so easily spammable.

This will require a bit of a sunken cost to get started but purchase 4 jute seeds off the mb. Cross breed that with mandragora seeds. This will almost always crossbreed into more jute seeds so it will eventually be self sufficient and you'll never need to buy more jute seeds. Jute sells nicely on its own but if you have doh leveled, you can make more money from crafting the luxury items used to make it, such as the pillow minion.

Once you have enough, breed the sylkis bud seeds and jute seeds together to make the onions and start the process anew.

If you need thanalan soil, don't forget you can exchange poetics in idyllshire for unidentifiable ore and trade that for soils in wondrous sundries.

Most primals can't because they drain the plane of aether. Rarely, you get ones like Ramuh and Odin which are beign aethericly speaking. And sometimes, you get ones like Good King Moogle Mog, may his pom be ever radiant, who can't temper creatures.

Most primals follow the rules, but most bend or break one or two from time to time.

There's not really a solid timeframe unfortunately and the devs have decided not to share any information on it at this time. So far, the only noteworthy indications of time passing that I can recall are that 2.1 - 3.1 is the span of two years and the first boat trip to Kugane is six months.

I first turned all of that shit off during SB when I realized the PS4 just could not handle all those effects going off on one notorious monster in Eureka. Then I switched to playing on my laptop and kept party/non-party member effects to a minimum because I was already used to the lessened visual clutter.
I'm the one who posted the screenshot; that whole instance saw half the players quit upon loading in and after five-ten minutes of beating up birds and skellies and standing in front of Mustadio, we came to the conclusion that less than 1/3rd of the intended players would have a hell of a time fighting the boss. We waited around for a while longer trying to get new players before resolving to just abandon.

They had no idea how long the game would last when they first started rebuilding it. They didn't even know if they would make it to one expansion let alone three. It would have been foolish for them to start setting up story threads that wouldn't pay off until 6 years later. Even the Warriors of Darkness plot in 3.1-3.4 was written in a way where they could have just left it as it was if they had to.

Even then they set up plenty of story threads and ideas they could use, and didn't end up using for several years. Omega, for example, was built-up early on in 2.x's patch quests and didn't end up being used until the very end of Heavesnward. FFXIV's story is remarkably well put-together for having things kind of made up as they go along.

mostly because everyone got their deepshadow, prior to week 6, the dps check was nearly impossible in pugs because all the good people cleared on Tuesday morning and all the people with work get stuck with the bads for the rest of the week that don't know their rotation. At least, this is my experience on Crystal.

The hardest fight was descent, followed by phase 1 titan. Phase 2 and 3 are super ultra easy, mechanics give you tons of time to sort them out.

Phase 1 was kinda "hard", but the rest was a joke as you say. The hardest thing of Titan is his enrage and healing check and that's it (and that only the first weeks, everyone got gear now)

descent is a joke once you remember which cycle does what and aren't unfortunate enough to be at the cardinal directions

dps check isn't even hard either, it's literally just "don't be a fucking brain dead retard, know how your rotation works" but this player base can't do that so we constantly get people that parse green or grey and wonder why they can't clear. Fuck I am so pissed how long it took me to clear titan, knew the fight inside and out but you literally can't do anything while you wait for the terribles to gear up so their awful rotation can bring enough dps to meet enrage.

North/South is fucked, but East/West isn't too bad, just Chaos is fucked but even then all you need to do is run out after the donut part.

yes, people don't learn though, I've had tanks laugh that they're in the bottom 9% of all tanks and then proceed to be exactly as awful the next week when I see them in PF. They don't feel any personal responsibility to improve, and that goes for the majority of the playerbase.

Susan Calloway piano version. At the risk of putting too much faith in the SHB writer, I feel like Heavensward was great but it would have been easily SHB equivalent in greatness if they had done better with what they had. The body horror of the aevis being Ishgardians whose blood is tainted by the original sin of the eyes consumption (or the intermarriage/love of man and dragon in the past, was never quite clear), the lost grandeur and wonder of the Churning Mists and how it seems like man and Dragon once lived side by side and built/dwelt together. They did a good job with Azys lla's surrealism and the mad science of the Allagans but could have done a more extensive job of it. Like I said, HW's story was great. But I think if they tackled it now with what they've learned and the writing skill of the SHB writer it would be twice as great.

Moe was a lesson in how not to write a character. Shows up and dies in either 1 or 2 patch cycles. Told why we should care about them (ex girlfriend of Urianger) rather than made to care about them. Just a macguffin designed to provide us a macguffin to defeat an Ascian who also had zero gravitas and threat about him. Just a random jobber who shows up during a patch and dies in 1-3 patches as opposed to a Lahabrea, a Edilibus, an Emet-Selch.

I worry about putting too much faith in her to the detriment of other writers, but she's written so much good stuff. She didn't do all of HW but again, if she did it might have turned out x2 as good.

I am doing casual raiding with my static friends. Only just getting to Eden this week but I enjoy playing with them. Am starting to run out of stuff to do in the game besides raiding but I will start to try and roleplay soon. besides that I have monk at 54 and I was leveling it to have a DPS class to do dailies with my friends but they stopped doing dailies regularly and it's snoozefest to do dailies alone.

Why are elezen literally the best npcs. And given Gaius and other Garleans use elezen bodies, they really are the best npcs. Giraffe as fuck of course but I really love them.

I should have clarified, some of the dungeons are ass to do, like Sohm Al with the second boss becuase it requires a lot of reengaging/unengaging for the slimes it summons. You can kill the red adds, but it's still annoying.
Most of it is okayish, just tedious. I do miss the engage exploit. Mobs aren't the problem, it's some of the mechanics that are annoying with a command squad.

Normally I'd say your concerns are unfounded but I've had a lot of bad runs as SCH lately for some reason or another.
The worst occasions are when I go through 9 stacks of aetherflow and 100 fairy gauge and the pull still isn't dead.

I run an unarmored pld with the Halicarnassus sword and no shield, but that's probably not what you're looking for.

NIN is definitely harder to play than the other 3 melee dps, but that's also partly because the other 3 melee dps have spent multiple expansions being simplified, to the point DRG feels only a bit more involved than PLD these days.

Savage are almost entirely the only fun one of the list you gave considering it's the only content in which you actually get to play. I'm sorry your willpower was thoroughly broken in 2 easy fights though.

While technically true, it sounds way more accurate if you just say 2. HW didn't simplify anyone. HW DRG was the best it ever was.

PLD has a lot of nice swords. Aettir/Aettir Lux are good if you like glowing weapons and can stomach grinding, Weathered Sequence is good if you want something ornate that still looks like a sword, Baldur Sword (or Heavy Metal Longsword) if you enjoy realistic weapons, Excalibur if you want a baroque cathedral shaped vaguely like a sword, etc.

I'd say they're up there in terms of optimization but in terms of actually playing them outside of memorizing mudras (even though you only need like 3-4) they aren't too bad honestly

Fair. I feel like my only problem with HW dragoon was too many redundant buttons (like power surge) but the core mechanic of BotD and Geirskogul was more satisfying as a core system than eyes/lotd, and frankly if they wanted to make the job more "accessible" they should've just removed superfluous buttons but kept BotD as it used to be.

I dread PF because selfworth issues make it hard for me to apply to even basic groups because I think I am bad and I am hypercritical of my mistakes to a point I evaluate my performance based on what other people think.Even tho I parse decently well (SMN not dropping under 10k in general).

I would basically need a static from my FC to get me invested to savages because I know the people and feel comfortable even if we did not do so well. But all our decent raiders are in their own statics and rest are kindly saying decent in normals but crumble in savages. Every week I feel bad for not even starting savages (did few runs with FC and we got nuked in ES1 because our healers are honestly bad) and week after week I feel even more shit for not doing them and week after week it gets even harder to even consider joining because I am so far behind so I would just be a worthless burden.

Mostly because if you were South you get the short end of the stick and an awful time understanding cycles and even once you figured it out, it was all about hoping the rest of the party can do the cycles and healers don't choke on heal check.
Time consuming while Levi is pretty easy mechanics as long as you're willing to lose a little uptime to learn them.

Do many people actually use mount music? With how frequently you get on/off your mount, to me it's just really annoying because it constantly stops/starts the song. And you can't even just sit on your mount to enjoy the music because for some fucking reason they thought it would be cool to make the music go super quiet if you're standing still.
