At what point in the manga is the anime's last ep? The one with those weird white electronic alien things all come together and become mushrooms? That was such a perfect and bittersweet ending I thought, but it'd lessen the impact if it wasn't the actual ending.

The ending of Vol. 4 out of 6. It's a good ending for a S1 but not the whole series. For example we wouldn't see the final stratum or what happens to Chi and Yuu even if it is obvious by that point where things are going, plus what this user said . In short read the manga if you haven't already, it's a masterpiece
