What's the best 2000s FPS game, Yea Forums?
What's the best 2000s FPS game, Yea Forums?
gWOhHHhHHuHGuhuh UHuhhu Chuuhuhhh COOOOOOMMINGGGG
Unreal Tournament 2004 and the first Call of Duty were good.
FEAR
Soldier of Fortune
Alien vs Predator 2
Red Faction
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Medal of Honor Allied Assault
Cod1
Postal2
..
fuck
Deus Ex or STALKER: Clear Sky
John Romero's Daikatana
technically was 1999 but that's basically 2000's
inclined to agree
>generous slow-mo
>vicious weapons
>reactive environment
i've replayed it like four or five times, can easily beat on the highest difficulty
love stopping after killing the last guy in a room just to turn around and watch the dust slowly settling down into the room you just completely trashed, fresh corpses strewn everywhere
loses points for terrible environment and enemy variety though, it's pretty much the same dudes the whole game with the exception of rare mechs and ninjas
and you're fighting them in like, one of three different areas
>abandoned factory
>abandoned office building
>abandoned science lab
yea
Halo 2
Gunman Chronicles
Escape From Butcher Bay
Red Faction
Painkiller
Area 51
Darkwatch
Prey
The Darkness
Wolfenstein 2009
this
BF42 and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
It was cool at first but replays really do a disservice to the game. Enemy AI is actually stupid and you can slow mo scissor kick everything to death even on hard.
>2000s FPS
for me it is bioshock
>game gets fucky above 60 fps
ITS NOT FAIR BROS!
They could also be underage. A lot of tweens call the 2010s the "twenty one thousands."
tpbp
okay, retard
Slowmo sucks
>Slowmo sucks
Wolfenstein enemy territory, if you don't agree then go check yourself at an clinic
Didn't Bioshock come out in 2007?
Yes.
well people posted halo and cod so you can suck my dick nigger
OP said 2000s
Doom 2016
Came here to post this, sorry OP but Monolith released better than NOLF2 in the timeframe you listed.
I love NOLF as much as the next guy but you can't really think it's the best FPS released in the 2000s.
Did you even play Serious Sam?
honestly, UT2K4, Doom3, Half-Life 2, Far Cry, are all up there...
but Crysis is probably the only objectively correct answer.
>Crysis is probably the only objectively incorrect answer.
ftfy
The gameplay is far supior in nolf compared to serious sam and waves of enemies are better in fear. Monolith was the best fps dev for some time
Never had that happen really plus the shotty was weaker than most of the other guns
>The gameplay is far supior in nolf compared to serious sam
Kek
Reminder that Crysis was never that good and the sequels are unironically better. Only delusional redditors disagree
Wrong. It's Timesplitters 2
>game no aim assist! game bad! ooga booga
I actually just finished NOLF for the first time the other day, and it's really not that good. It's a 7/10 at best with decent writing carrying it.
>console FPS
>Serious Sam
>better than NOLF
kys
>console FPS
>console FPS
>console FPS
But he's right.
>pc gaming in the 2000s
>a game completely barren of any content
>where everything is a bunch of copy and pasted shit
>better than NOLF
nu
>console FPS
Yeah those super niche games like TF2, World of Warcraft and Counter-Strike?
Oh yeah back in the day I would only play Gothic 2 and Morrowind all day.
more like super gay
>trading precision mouse control for nipple sticks
1. Unreal Tournament 2003/2004
2. FEAR
3. Timesplitters 2
4. Team Fortress 2
5. Timesplitters: Future Perfect
6. Half-Life 2
7. Call of Duty: World at War
8. Bioshock
9. Call of Duty 4
10. Halo 3
and did you have friends?
...just saying
you would be surprised, but I know I'm the exception
>console fps gaming in the 2000s
>waaaah this is too hard I want to click on heads like I click on firefox tabs
Unironically this.
The best PC player will always beat the best console player in any game.
Medal of Honor: European Assault
>shoot a shotgun pointblank in front of someone
>somehow hits everywhere but the person
okay pal
Halo 2 and timesplitters 2 are the peak of 2000's FPS.
Don't worry, none of the NOLF games are good, they're hipster bait.
>I'm only getting 143 fps and my mouse cable keeps getting in the way
TimeSplitters 2. No doubt.
Halo 3 was my favorite, I could still play it.
I do worry cause NOLF games are good and you have no idea what you're talking about.
Left 4 Dead
i know it sounds like an alien idea to your but PC based shooters (except casual trash like overwatch ofc) have pixel accurate hitboxes, and you're actually able to land those shots when you're playing it the right way
There's some .dll files you can download that make the game run fine. Google around for it.
I've played them several times, they just aren't very good. You need to get over your hipster phase and start playing better games, obsessing over bad ones is awful for you.
This isnt really a fair question OP
@476382393
the right way to play crysis is slowly moving through jungles and clicking on heads while in stealth mode and then hiding to recover your energy. Works every time, trying to have fun and use your suit powers will just make the game bad because they don't work.
>TF2 came out in 2007
I guess that technically is a 2000s FPS.
Tricycle chases, so zany. ha ha.
>2000 was 19 years ago
>clicking on heads
you can't click on heads using a pleb controller user...
That's okay. First person games that are designed for controllers know full well the fun isn't in the aiming, it's in the combat, navigation, weapon design, mechanics and level design. Doom and Duke3D were great for this reason, they didn't think more accuracy = better game. They knew they had to make a varied, interesting game. The problem with shooters today is devs keep listening to PC gaymers and shooters keep coming up short for this reason. They need to look back to see what makes the old ones tick.
It's not pointing & clicking, that was the cancer that killed the shooter.
Based and Powerslavepilled.
probably not the best fps game from the 00s, but def the one i spent the most time on.
didn't really become great until the 2010 halloween update tho
Now imagine if every one of those balls came out from the center of your screen and had perfect accuracy. That is the PC gamers dream, to ruin the fun and excitement of an item for optimization.
These people do not know what they want, and they've been getting exactly what they ask for and nobody likes it. Time to stop listening.
This gun trivializes the whole game but damn if it isn't fun as all hell
you changed subject whatever. you still can't click on those heads using a controller user
All of those were clearly misses you fat retard
>you still can't click on those heads using a controller user
You don't want to. You want to do anything else but that. Try and keep up.
worse
that isn't even a mouse
>nonsense post
okay but a miss a miss
>okay but a miss a miss
Now I'm really hitting the target. Poor thing.
Cringe and retardpilled
the webm shows otherwise
Do people still play Quake Deathmatch or the old UT games? I always wanted to get into them but could never find a proper match with human players.
Right over your head.
>Right over your head.
definitely a miss without aim assist
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
>Do people still play Quake Deathmatch or the old UT games
No, not really. You can do the IRC meme (or discord if you're dilating) but it's a pretty dead scene.
Don't worry, you're not even smart enough to keep up.
>more nonsense
a miss is a miss though
Fuck. I feel like i should kys myself for not thinking of FEAR.
>he can't even make sense of what is going on
PC kids.
yes, you can't make sense
Pathetic.
Based.
so are your attempts to shit on crysis and retarded reversals
>reversals
this kid, man PC gamers just aren't very smart.
mw2
OH NO BURADU PITTU NOT AGAIN!
>PC gamers just aren't very smart
>coming from a literal subhuman
is powerslave on pc?
There's a port of the not-too-stellar PS1 version and the port of it is not too sellar either. It gets certain aspects such as collision detection wrong in the game. The best way to play is the Saturn version.
