Basically MS1 on the switch has more severse framerate issues than the original.
All the other games run as their original releases, but MS1 has performance issues.
Not input lag, but heavy framerate drops during hectic segments and with too many explosions (the original already had those framerate drops, there's just more severe of them).

I've seen memes about how it's just a waifu game now but I want to be sure.

I've always liked 1 the most, it's simple and to the point, I love the alien and supernatural stuff a ton and especially the Final Missions of 2/X and 3 but I think the series veered too much into it at a certain point and kind of lost it's charm. The enemy design by 3 has some real issues at times too on account of how weird they get, they are hard to predict and 3 definitely eats your quarters more than the rest of the trilogy.

No one is asking for Marco to be a Mii Gunner clone. But Mii Gunner's kit has a lot of moves that can be changed a bit so you don't have to start from scratch. Also I'm calling bullshit on the use of Metal Slug weapons not looking like some of Mii Gunner's kit. There are moves that look similar in function and execution, as well as move from other characters currently in the game that can be used to make Marco's move set.

Honestly something i really wished these games had was giving you an extra life for scoring a lot (like 1million=extra life), would make trying not to die (for the bonus at the end of a stage) and looking for pows and secrets that give you extra points worth something besides bragging about high scores.

FTilt: two hit, stab and cross slice
DTilt: two hit, stab and cross slice from a crouch position. Sends up
Uptilt: two hit, swings gun upwards and blasts out a puff of flamethrower
Smash: SHOT GUN
D-smash: ENEMY CHASER. Longer charge means longer distance. Shots one to both sides
Up-smash: HEAVY MACHINE GUN
All air attacks are just directional shooting
Side b: Rawket Launchair. Can shoot two in rapid succession
Side b: lob grenade, explodes on hit
Up b: use FLAME THROWER blast to launch upwards.

I hope that rather than go to the normal victory screen, MISSION COMPLETE comes up over the stage at the end if Marco wins, and the stats come up like the end of mission ones in MS.

The forward and down tilt should probably be more pistol shots just like Mega Man to better represent the run and gun nature of the game. In fact the up tilt and all aerials could be as well for maximum authenticity. You could reasonably recreate the feel of an actual Metal Slug game that way. The gimmick could be ammo types that change how this otherwise really basic moveset works. It's a DLC character so this kind of bullshit would be okay.

We know it's an SNK character. Metal Slug is pure dreams since no one outside of Mexico really knows any other SNK characters
