I played the Japanese version and I really recommend you just replay the original game instead. In fact, it was recently ported to steam if you don’t mind playing with the English voices.
All of the added story elements in full body are bad. Catherine is one of my favourite games of all time, and I really felt like Full Body was a downgrade in terms of story. The added character (Rin) ruins the perfect Law vs Chaos balance the original game had going with Catherine and Katherine, and pads out the story with unnecessary bullshit. All the new endings seem like bad fan fiction and completely miss the themes of the original game.
The new “arrange” mode is good because it makes the levels feel fresh again, even though it really only adds one new block type. The new music is good, and there are also some new characters that you can encounter in the nightmare and in the bar, which are well written. It’s really only the main story additions that are shit, but they’re so shit that they completely ruin the pacing of the original game. Give it a skip and listen to the music on YouTube.

I heard the extra gameplay features like online seemed fun. I enjoyed watching some competitive catherine from time to time + some "speedruns" of babel. But alright I'll try the original first.
Was there ever a release which didn't have bad plot add ons? All I can think about were Persona 2's climax theatre stuff or DeSu games and EO Untolds

I personally think the added content in Strane Journey Redux isn’t bad, but it does kill the pacing a bit.
Overall, it’s almost always better to just play the original release with Atlus games.
Also, you could always just pirate the original game, play through it, and then buy the shitty full body addition if you’re still interested afterwards.
