Fire Emblem thread

FE6 is the best Fire Emblem by far, I just beat it. It's fucking great. It has flaws but so does every other FE game, if you want to completely disregard a game based on its flaws then every FE game fucking sucks. The point is that FE6 is just straight-up fun.

I'm gonna play FE5 next. It seems kind of daunting though. What's the top shit you need to know before going in?

The story is connected to FE4 so you should play that first. It's best to go in without being spoiled about maps and stuff but it can help to know some game mechanics: crits double attack before subtracting defense, staves have 60+(4*skill) accuracy, you can steal if your speed is higher and your bld is higher than the item's weight, tome weight isn't offset by bld, capturing halves your stats other than luck, you can capture/rescue characters with less bld (horses count as having 20), your movement is halved if the carried unit weighs more than half your bld, follow up attacks have a critical multiplier that depends on the unit.

I've played FE4 to chapter 8, I heard it takes place in between the generations to I should be fine right?

I've interacted with many users. Posts don't exist in a vacuum. People look down on FE6 heavily because of its flaws.

3H and Genealogy are better

3H is a fucking shitstomp, nothing poses a threat to your army at all, warpskipping is the extend of its strategy and even that's extremely easy in this game because instead of having seize every map (something FE6 is derided for, btw), they have kill enemy commander which is just seize with less steps
Genealogy is a cool game and very interesting, but it can be kind of a slog in some places.

roy fucking sucks, he's only good with the binding blade. you don't even need to train him at all since he can 3rko the final boss at base, and that's all you really need him for desu

After i Finish replaying 5 and this hack of 8 i found.

3H is definitely too easy, but the fantastic story and writing more than make up for that. Also, we're getting Lunatic soon, so hopefully that fixes things

any freak unit stories, anons? On my first playthrough of 6 pic had near perfect stats. He was a monster; my strongest unit, high def, and high speed. My most suprsing unit in any fire emblem since i heard he was a worst uniy then Gonzalez

I gave up on Roy completely I think after chapter 12x. He got one kill in chapter 19 but other than that he didn't get a single kill from 12x to promotion.

I wasn't making the threads, but coincidentally I started playing FE6 recently as well. I've only played 7 when it came to the US so I don't have a really good frame of reference to the other games, but I am enjoying the shit out of 6. I'm going to go through the other GBA games then go to the SNES era FE

For people who have played Three Houses, which house has the best girls? I'm between Claude and Dimitri, Edelgard girls fucking suck.

Blue Lions route is more about the dudes desu. Not in a gay way it's just that they're very well-written among Three Houses characters.
