So who at Platinum started smoking DMT and decided to make a game about fighting with the entities there? Some of the stuff in the plot and the machine sci-fi designs are straight breakthrough inspired

Probably the majority of the staff considering the game is locked to 30.
Why do you think that anything even remotely creative in any media comes from doing drugs?
Are you that boring of a person that you can't imagine half the shit you see in most games in your head, on your own, with no chemical aid?
Hell, technically you should be able to imagine on the fly shit that is hundreds of times more out there and experimental than what you see in most games.
Is everyone's imagination broken or something?
Is it because you all spend your free time reposting the same shit over and over again for weeks and weeks until your brain just breaks and you become soulless?
Because there is legit correlations there you fucking cunt. The hint is in the title of the game - astral. Dip shit.
fpbp
There's 4 individual IPs in this thread, you just replied to yourself.
Kinda sad.
If seems it was Nintendo as they originally wanted to do some fantasy thing but Nintendo told them that, at the moment, fantasy was overused so they went cyberpunk.
Source?
is there a guide for unlocking more outfit parts and shit
I just started out and I keep getting a D grade on the combat sections...Help
>mission 2
>think the combat is too simple
>mission 4
>suddenly overwhelmed by options
I only have two Legions, but I can see this being one of the most complex action games once you get all five. Shit is wild.
Also, what are Command Moves? It says my baton has two Command Move slots, but I don't think it ever told me what those even are or how to use them.
i guess all of snoy studios are fucking stoned because their games don't even reach 30 fps on the trannystation pro.
Yea Forums convinced me to buy this and to be honest I'm not really liking it. Its boring. I like the combat but everything else in the game is annoying and tedious. I just want to fight.
How do I beat the gorilla dude in the file 3 expert training? Should I just replay when I have more legions?
It will get infinitely easier to S rank by mission 3; your combat options will nearly triple from mission 2 to 3
They literally admit that they themselves came to the conclusion.
Let me get this straight: this game has a "reach chapter 3 before making judgement" rule?
Yes, mostly because you don't have your full moveset and movement options until then.
Wich is a pretty questionable design decision, to be honest.
How do I get good?
Reach chapter 3.
Yep. You get 4x the moves right at the end of chapter 2. I thought the game was basic and kinda boring, but I'm at chapter 4, and I think it might be one of the best action games I've ever played already.
You can only post in this thread if you gave the little girl a perfect Avalanche.
What is the best way to play the game? I did the first mission using the pro controller and melee feels awful. Should I remap controls or is it better with waggling pads or something?
Chapter 3 unlocks a lot of combat and movement options that make the gameplay infinitely more fun. I love the game at the moment, but I don't see why they make the tutorial two chapters long.
Yes, first two chapters are tutorials, three onward is when you csn start unlocking the real skills, and also when it's worth replaying the first two missions
I think they were the thinking in the casuals/normies, those could be overwhelmed if the game starts with all the options.
>That one fucker on the stairs.
AHHHHHHHH
You'll get used to the controls once you have more options, the Legion is bound to the shoulder so you can hold it while moving it around easily
get auto sync attack ability
where do you get the hoodie
i wanna look like a comfy cop
I'm past chapter 3 mate. I have the arrow and arms legion.
Male or female, I am torn.
>buy hermitonic
>100k
>start game as female
>she never talks or anything and its all just her brother prattling on
>but you get to customize her and see her in the action cutscenes
It is a hard call
Also, what are Command Moves?
They are especial moves like "hold ZR for charging an attack", "delay second ZR hit", "tilting back and forward, then ZR for a lunge attack", etc.
And yes, shit becomes pretty crazy later.
New legions, new command attacks, new legion skills, new sync attacks and more.
The investigation aspect is a big part of the draw and police vibe of the game. If you like the combat, it's probably worth sticking with it just for that combat - but if you're not a fan of the policing aspect, it might become a slog for you
I love it all, honestly
honestly it mostly changes the theme you hear in certain circumstances and the secondary character that talks a lot, as you're just gonna hear your protagonist's moans and grunts mainly
He got you, too, huh? That fucking prick, I swear
Any pics of the costumes?
Who has the better voice?
You can change it later by replaying file 1
oh you can get it for 10g
I really hate everything thats not the combat. I hate the cut scenes and story and skip all the cut scenes that it lets me. And i hate all the boring talking and police exploration and quests stuff.
i agree, i have never, in my entire life have wanted to fuck a vending machine, and yet here i am, wanting to cum inside that tsundere vending machine that blushes when you buy something off her...
>"fast" paced action game
>Can barely hit 25fps at any given time
>720p blurry trash
Wonderful "game".
Meanwhile, in japan...
This game is not for you.
you say that like Metal Gear Rising wasn't on the 360/PS3
Astral Chain before Chapter 3 would be like if Bayonetta started you out with no Wicked Weaves, Witch Time, or Dodge Offset.
What was his plan?
This game is VERY weeb and cringe compared to Metal Gear Rising and Bayonetta. Those are the only other Platinum games i played.
I'm at chapter 4 and this is literally Evangelion cyberpunk cop edition, fitting that they have eva colors for the legions (rolling with EVA01 color for sword right now).
I'm really liking it, but I see how it can be polarizing, it certainly seems that Taura just threw everything he wanted in though, and that's a show of love.
Sothis feet!
Sothis feet!
Sothis feet!
It's a very character and story-driven game with lite RPG elements it feels, rather than just a strict mission-to-mission action structure that happens to have cool cutscenes between bits like Bayonetta. It's like Platinum isn't allowed to do different things.
>Call out the shitty game
>Deflect to playstation batching
Christ..
>I'm at chapter 4 and this is literally Evangelion cyberpunk cop edition
Watch Patlabor.
Expand your taste, jesus.
>476365116
360 got labeled there first, you're not even worth the (You)s
what the hell do you do once you have multiple legions?
I was kind of getting the hang of it with just one or two but now I don't know what to do besides rapidly switch to dump every legion's ability and run away since the dodge sucks
the enemies don't rape you like in Bayonetta but it feels impossible to properly set anything up when there's multiple enemies and you have all these fucking characters you're trying to manage with no easy way to stun all the enemies
what's the go to strat supposed to be, just stick with one legion I like or keep trying to unchain/rapidly switch between every one?
Please redpill me on Astral Chain Yea Forums. What makes it good?
Why do you lie, user?
How do I beat gorillas with the sword?
I literally watched Patlabor on TV when I was a kid, I'm a full blown weeb, but you can't deny the evangelion influences in the plot, specially with how Legions are captured Chimeras controlled by phychic resonance like Evas are also Angels controled by psychic resonance, or how the commander was literally talking to a Seelee knockoff and talking about ascending humanity.
??????
Post your cop.
God this Final Boss is making me feel like a shitter, was rocking my way through everything late game never getting hit and pulling off a bunch of tricks, and then this fucker rolls up, gives me my first game over, and then proceeds to give me my second and third. Did they accidentally put the Pt. Ultimate final boss in Pt. Standard??
He's a big guy
>no small cute mascot legion
i mean if were going full anime
Its not a lie.
>What makes it good?
Its a nintendo exclusive.
equipment guide wheeeen
>Ten fucking attempts to S+ the Arms Nemesis.
Fuck knows how long its gonna take to do the fucking boss of File Four.
Follow this Guy's advice.
>youtu.be
>71 burgers
Wtf japan?!
What does Maintenance do?
Each Legion should eventually develop its own "role" so to speak once you start unlocking abilities and stuff, and then you can swap depending on what enemies or what situation your dealing with, or swap to follow up on a previous action (its best to arrange your wheel so that if you tap Y it goes to the legion best to follow up whatever you made your legion do).
Honestly the only legion I have trouble finding a use for is Sword. Arrow is my ranged, Arm is my main source of damage, Beast is my support, and Axe is used for defense and some of his particular moves that I like. My main use for sword is honestly just auto bind and round blade.
one of the big things you can do is chain bind > long attack skill > switch legion > another attack skill while other legion is still attacking
>Arm's C8 does the same thing
Honestly leaving it towards just the 5 is fine, but I would have liked a navi like legion for sure. Beast is cute, but a Ker would have been nice.
Question: can you play by wearing the Arm Legion for most of the game and just become a very powerful brawler?
it's a bizarre mix between phoenix wright, xenoblade, V from DMC5 and every previous Platinum games that shouldn't work but definitely does
it's also a surprisingly varied game, it's far closer to an action adventure game than bayo or dmc
That'd work for a good chunk of the game but there are still flying enemies and bosses you'd much rather have dodging/mobility for.
No, but for most things besides the final boss I found that wearing him and going ORA ORA ORA was by far the highest damage output possible, basically my entire strategy was stuns and setup to put the armor back on and start punching again.
lets you change its color and removes the speed and auto attack slowdown the pink stuff gives
it wears off pretty quickly its just a temp thing
how do you know it is "VERY weeb and cringe" if you have not played it?
Starting to think AC has RDR2 syndrome where the beginning is god awful but gets way better, filtering many from from the good stuff
Japan never had a standard price for games, it was always between 20-80 dollars. This is why the Nintendo's vouchers where unironically a good deal in Japan.
>Its not a lie.
proofs?
>Its a nintendo exclusive.
seething snoygger.
>astral means drugs
Webm user, can you make one of Arms doing a Star Platinum? The one by itself, not in Gattai mode.
i'm a sucker for title card intros. they just get you hype for whats to come.
Does this game have some sort of bloody palace/angel slayer mode?
>Drains really fast
>Attacks are somewhat limited as well while in it
It's a good jump in/jump out option, but as the entire game? No. It's got pretty high damage though, including the first two punches + the punch rush. Just note doing the rushing attack you can't evade one bit, just slowly drift yourself around.
I've seen those more in Kamen Rider
>proofs?
Not going to spoonfeed you, certainly less so when any proof I'll previde you'll just autistically scream fake news.
Beast exists user
>>Can barely hit 25fps at any given time
It's locked at 30fps, user.
The Legion AI needs to be better, about a third of the time in fights it just stands around even with multiple enemies in it's aggro radius
have you been cleaning it
I'm laughing at the very webster-ish style it has
Ok. no argument and no proofs.
Typical seething snoygger.
I honestly don’t know how people can’t finish expert training. This isn’t even a matter of git gud you only unlock that training after you go through Gladius training so you DID beat that guy before. Just like do it again, the first two waves are a joke.
So far all I've done was the intro and training
Use ZL to zip them towards a foe ad get them to attack. They otherwise don't attack too often yes.
I'll see what I can do, given I gotta unlock that node real fast.
>guard won't give me his hermit card
epic
Is it me or are does the game drop off after file 7? That one is fucking amazing and probably the best in the entire game but after that missions are boring as fuck until you get to the ass end of them.
Oh yeah, I was about to ask. What exactly does cleaning it do? I accidentally skipped the tutorial message when doing it the first time.
>Second bike mission
>"why does everything take years to kill?"
>realize on the last enemy that I can use Legions
Wait...so it has a purpose?!
...
I wonder how many thing people missed during their first playthrough.
I just ate it myself. Come at me.
It doesn't even have to be for the second hit. You can do a delayed attack during any part of your combo I found out by accident.
>Keeps bringing up sony
Rent free, christ..
yeah it becomes hit or miss afterwards like file 8 takes a complete different direction and drags
hermit chapter was my favorite felt the pace in that one was good
stay mad, faggot.
Have you beaten the game yet? File 7 is great, File 8 sucks, File 9 is really good, File 10 is okay not as bad as File 8 but has a cool ending, and then File 11 is fantastic.
Akira, no!
For the end of Chapter 2 fight verse all the legions i kept doing a move with ZR it was like a synched attack with my legion. It never explained what it was and I didn't see the button prompt or anything. Is this something I will learn about soon?
I just finished 10. 8 was awful, 9 had a good ending sequence but I barely remember anything outside of it besides the shitty motorcycle part and 10 was also awful outside of the ending (which while really cool was also way too easy)
ZL is the sync button on default
remember to pat your sis on the head
I don't know how he sees past his hair.
Tell me about the super boss, how it fight?
Its Zetman.
isnt that how i send out my legion? what exactly was happening? it was playing a sound then doing different attacks when each new legion would enter the little arena
Remember, this is your mindset.
>can't color arms to look like star platinum
>Wow I like this game
Oh shit, guess I'm a Nintendo shill now
When I did that fight the first time, it seemed to fire off Sync attacks on its own by just mashing ZR. It's just storyline fluff.
>he's still seething
don't worry user I'm sure kojima's piss simulator will be great
you'll know about it soon
thats what i figured, thanks
Remember, you are little seething snoygger.
i feel sorry for anyone playing this in handheld mode with joycons
I REALLY want to FUCK Marie.
They were eating rotessiere chicken
>They are getting audible mad over a post
Is it past your bedtime or something? Calm down.
beat it in handheld only thought it was fine but hands did start to hurt near the end
No, the super bows is female, "aether" i think is her name.
This.
You're not actually forgetting much of 9. Its Homunculus Delta, Jena, Motorcycle, Jena, Jena if I remember correctly.
suit on of course
You can make custom colors those slots are just the start. Select one and hit edit man.
Does critical damage up count for headshots?
How well does it run?
Docked it ran like shit during File 08. Like single digit framerates.
>ORAORA's at you
SO what's with the silent protagonist?
The absolute levels of onions with this fucking grown man kills me, and youtube needs to stop shilling his shit videos.
>spend like 1.5 hours on file 6
>realize game bugged and cant turn in lunch for hermit card
>have to restart
nice fucking game
>I'm going to make a retarded post
>Shut the fuck up, retard
>WHY SO LE MAD SEETHING NINTENDIE?????????
No really, but it's the only way to doing, i'm in.
Sometimes game devs barely even hide the fact that they were inspired by drugs.
>Defending LOL SILLY VOICE NINTENDY PUPPET
Cringe.
did you make senpai happy?
>You are Nintendo shill puppet
>No I'm not
>Why are you defending the Nintendo shill puppet?
dynamic res and dips when too much shit is happening
runs pretty fine in general
I have the custom legion set, but it doesn't let me make custom colors, just lets me pick from a set. Which one are you talking about?
Couldn't even let me meme?
Haven't fought her myself but apparently she is pretty hard.
>He is STILL defending funny blue puppet man
Did you clap when you see him?
Huh, guess you're right. I didn't particularly like the Homunculus fight and the motorcycle part still sucks but I'll give the file a pass overall since the Jena fights are fun.
Hey console war faggots. Go to the Review Score thread if you wanna shitpost. This is a legitimate game discussion thread
Can I just delete abilities that I know I'll never be using? Automatic Sync Attacks is something I know I'll never use. Do you get anything for deleting them, other than a clean box? Can you combine / craft them later on?
Don't know if I should save them up, or just delete the ones I'll never touch.
no craft or combine
Yes you can delete them. No, you dont get anything
Literally made for mating press
Especially since you know damn well that she would welcome having kids, hold you close and tell you she loves you.
God I want Marie's sweaty ass on my face.
No, he kicked my ass.
Lappy hurtbox it is too massive.
The fade attack is also fully invincible. It's one of the weirdest defensive options I've ever seen in a video game. I guess if you're mashing your basic combo and then you see the enemy winding up, you can delay to get the fadeslash, but the timing window on that seems very risky. I've only done it right a couple of times by accident. I've done it wrong a lot more often by accident.
>Wearing the Lappy hat.
My copper.
Is there a limit to ability space?
I think she's a predator who only gets off on raping little boys. Lappy is the perfect cover
don't think so i never discarded any of them and my list was extremely long
Nah, she's a crazy cat lady, like your sister
Just started playing this, how the fuck do I use my Legion in combat? What's the point of sending it out or pulling it in? When i hold down the button we move in sync, is that supposed to do anything else?
Man, File 6 was fucking exhausting. Way too fucking long. Also enjoyed that cinematic boss fight at the end with single digit fps. Christ.
>Literally made for holding hands and comforting her when she breaks down crying at the end of each week about being a lowly janitor and mascot
FTFY
Howard-chan's tight butt > 2B's fat ass
Come at me.
when you get to the training room part do the whole thing
Wait until after Chapter 2, you're not actually playing the game yet.
Don't worry about it until File 3. A majority of your skill set is basically locked away.
>2B
>fat
Sending it out aggroes the enemies, AND you can use link jump to attack and combo with it. manual controls have a variety of uses, such as charge countering, link jumps, and chain locking enemies
This is one of the weirdest games I've ever played in my life. I have about six hours clocked, and I honestly think it might be one of the best action games I've ever touched. We got two of the best action games of all time this year, if you want to put this up there with DMC5. I'm having so much fun with this shit that it's insane.
Is there some sort of horde mode / postgame where you can just fight enemies? I love the investigation stuff, but I'm looking forward to just killing shit, too.
How is this still allowed in 2019? 30fps has become literally unplayable for me. Guess I'll be waiting for it to be playable on yuzu.
How could they make that shit so expensive when it's literally impossible? Wasted so much money on that.
postgame is abunch of cases where you fight areas of enemies with a superboss at the end
I hope this game does well so we can get a high-budget open world sequel on Nintendo's next console where you can freely ride around on the bike and just get into stupid situations / arrest people
How do I get a Marie gf?
Your Legion does most of the damage. If an enemy is out of reach, you press ZL to "throw" the legion at them. Holding ZLR and then use the R stick to move the Legion. You then wrap the legion around an enemy to stun them.
Did you even get to Chapter 2? The game explains this shit.
BOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOING!!
because it's on an underpowered piece of shit
>you're just gonna hear your protagonist's moans and grunts mainly
This is one of the best parts about playing female characters, especially in jap games.
I hope this is what you wanted user
I just want Narc with legions. I wanna be that dirty cop.
Did anyone else genuinely like the stealth situations? I wouldn't mind them reappearing and being expanded on in the sequel.
>t. never got high before
nope first one was fine since you can just fight through it but didn't like the second one being mandatory
I just realized this game is what Vanquish was supposed to be.
>original Vanquish design
>inspired by classic anime
>fighting robots with a robodog companion
>but Mikami decided to make it a shooter instead of a beat-em-up, because he had already made God Hand
>they couldn't figure out how to make the dog work with the fast paced shooting, so they cut the concept entirely
>fast-forward to Astral Chain
>dog companions
>melee combat
>literal 80's manga artist character designer
>the weapon even morphs into different forms
The simulations in the training room are endless
Much like TW101's initial moveset is barebones when compared to endgame (only 3 morphs by the time you beat Orowchee, defensive options need to be bought), Astral Chain gives you just the bare minimum to qualify as an action game until you finish File 2 and I don't understand why.
I mean for TW101, it had the excuse of having to ease the player into a new control scheme for weapon switching, what with the 3 morphs being the simplest things one can draw: a circle, a line and an L, but I really don't see why they gotta hold the good stuff until File 3 for AC.
True, but they don't get increasingly more difficult or introduce new enemies as you clear waves (that I know of). I want something like Bloody Palace.
Vanquish was the single best third person shooter ever made.
By having Vanquish be this game, we would lose a masterpiece.
I'm glad both exist as separate entities.
COMIN' THROUGH
And finally beat it, ending was weird and open but felt fairly standard fare for a JRPG and the story wasnt really a big deal to me anyway. Final boss might honestly be my favorite Platinum Final boss yet gameplay wise (Armstrong obviously is very memorable for the memes). Kicked my ass quite a bit but once I got it down it was very satisfying, made use of all my legions and that finish off sequence was absolute kino.
>Vanquish was the single best third person shooter ever made.
Vanquish was a shitty generic cover-based shooter that tried to shoehorn in advanced movement mechanics to try and distinguish itself without taking into account how the enemies worked or how the movement would work in it's level design
Is there any way to check movelists for weapons and legions?
>The hardest thing in the game is the box carrying minigame in chapter 8
This would be true if the final boss didn't exist.
>they don't get increasingly more difficult or introduce new enemies as you clear waves (that I know of)
oh yeah, they don't
Agreed. I didn't want that to sound like I was shitting on Vanquish, because I love it, but it's truly the ideal timeline that we got both games.
It can't be denied that Astral Chain at least has a better atmosphere than Vanquish, though. Vanquish felt extremely bland in presentation / story / music. It had no identity outside of its sick-ass gameplay. AC oozes style.
Again, I love Vanquish, but there's no denying that it looks (visually) like a bog-standard TPS in an era where TPS was all the rage.
Ha! Funny question user
Postgame is just killing shit.
for the batons i looked everywhere and couldn't find them but for the legion's its in their skill tree
Yes, thanks user. It much better than the Gattai's version.
>Vanquish was a shitty
Stopped reading there.
I've got no time for plebs.
Is this sarcasm or is there really no increasingly-difficult horde mode? I'll be slightly saddened if there isn't
I've seen new colors and 4d shapes on dmt. You're just ignorant but that's okay. Don't be so dismissive of things you don't understand
not sarcasm, at least not that i know of, sorry user.
The game still kicks ass, so I'm not too upset. I plugged 130 hours into DMC5 and I still haven't beaten Nero or V's BP, anyway, so I'm fine with replaying levels for that spicy rank.
Help menu user lists all of the extra moves you unlock in the game.
Baton movelist is what I'm after. I keep doing cool shit on accident and would like to know how I did it.
>Don't really like the game
>Have to pretend otherwise and make fake posts about my enjoyment to stop the sonyshills from winning
This is tiring.
In the options tab > help.
ty
The camera angles make everything feel so cool. I feel like they might make the game actively worse as an action game, but I love it. Any stylish webms?
what does smoking dmt feel like?
How does the final boss compare to Bayo 1 and W101? Those two are my P* bar.
Fuck, most I've got is an A. How do I git gud? Specially when dodging, if I dodge I still get hit.
Also is olive the Canon anal slut of the game?
>mfw file 6
Its hard bro but you gotta keep going.
There's nothing wrong with disliking a game. It's all up to personal taste, anyway. Don't make fake posts. Abandon brand allegiance and evolve - just play good games. If you don't like a game, don't pretend to.
Astral Chain is great. I would support it all the same if it was an Xbox or Playstation exclusive. Hell, my favorite game of all time is Bloodborne.
Sometimes your Legatus will flash blue, like at the end of an attack combo, when you chain an enemy, when you're sent flying back, etc. If you press ZL when that flash happens you'll execute a synch move with your Legion.
>mentions PS3 AND 360
>>omg don't insult my preshus sony, Yea Forums is nintendogaf waaaaaa
retard
I'm playing it in handheld no problem, just snatched the good boy Legion.
How do you have two of them out at once? Do you unlock this later on? I'm only on mission 4
Youve seen temporal shapes?
need 10,000 points for S+
gotta chain bind, get crit hits, press all sync prompts etc and fastest time possible
you have to unlock it in the skill tree.
Lmfao, if you think 6 is crazy, 7 is my favorite chapter in the game and is flat out insanity.
>Keeps bringing up sony
>Repeatedly, always bringing them up
>Replies to dead posts just to bring up sony
Calm down retard, stop with the rent free bullshit.
Is it too early to say that this is the best Platinum game? Because I personally think it is.
I havent replayed it a bunch outside of my just dieing a whole lot but in my opinion its definitely the hardest of the bunch, quality wise will depend, it doesnt really feel as hype as W101 final boss but from an actual gameplay and spectacle perspective I was at least personally a big fan. Its my new Favorite at least.
Unrelated but what the fuck is with the sheer amount of art assets in this game, they keep giving you new models for enemies throughout the entire game. When I saw 167 I figured it would be 99% pallet swaps or something and while there definitely are only a handful (though still a very large amount) of enemy classes / skeletons / shapes, every variety of them has their own fucking 3D model different from all the rest. Its mind boggling how many fucking enemies are in this game, especially if we compare it to the last platinum game (Automata) which had a very small pool of enemies and reused the same ball boss asset for like half the bosses (Meanwhile this game will create massive intricate art assets for like, a 5 minute setpiece before the real boss)
There's a skill called 'Unchanged attack' you can unlock for each one and equip it as an on demand action. Using it makes them go full auto for about 5 seconds, and doing that time you can swap towards a different Legion and do other stuff with them.
Legions stay out if you use skills. While the skill's going on, you can switch and bring out another Legion. In addition, Eeery Legion gets a skill called Hit Rush that unchains them from you and lasts for a pretty long time.
It’s not so bad. And its even better with control type C. But I was more concerned about wearing them buttons out.
My one gripe with the game so far is that, as far as I know, there's nothing that subtracts from the score as opposed to other plat games with rankings
But I haven't unlocked PtU yet so who knows
Its not as good as Auto and barely on par with Korra. Its not even in their top 3 games. But its a nintendo exclusive isn't it so you must think otherwise.
Gameplay-wise?
Probably, only rivaled by Bayonetta
Overall?
That still goes to MGR
There’s no reason for a janitor to have a body of a sex goddess.
I'm the user who said this, too My favorite game ever is Bloodborne
Quit being stupid, yeah? Astral Chain is good as shit and it has nothing to do with the fact that it's a Nintendo exclusive
>Its not as good as Auto and barely on par with Korra
Korra was really mixed, and this game isn't anywhere that level of unpolished. The only fair thing is Transformers given it takes a ton of things from that directly, though it's refined a lot of those elements as well. The difficulty curve though is overall lacking for sure, and for (Clearly many) that's enough to be a downer experience. It's got one of the better settings though, and the combat's got enough tools to keep things fresh from start to finish with a learning curve to make use of everything decently enough.
>Gameplay worse than Automata
>Story worse than Automata
>Waifu's worse than Automata
>Its stuck on the switch so it also looks worse
How on earth is it anywhere near Platinums best game?
>it has nothing to do with the fact that it's a Nintendo exclusive
Sure buddy.
I know this is not gonna be a popular opinion but I would KILL to have an APB-like game with Astral Chain’s setting and combat. Playing cops and robbers has always been my favorite thing. Playing cops and robbers as anime police with stands will probably make me nut till I’m cumming blood.
still the same system in ultimate its just that you do less damage and they do more damage
It's up there. It's the first time a Platinum game hasn't annoyed the shit out of me with non-core combat gameplay which is a big accomplishment for them.
>>Keeps bringing up sony
I just opened the thread, you dumb fuck. This entire thread is littered with your shitposting.
>Waifus
Waifu isn't a general descriptor for "cute girl" you fucking normalfaggot
The people Automata brought into "weeb culture" are fucking sickening, and you should remove yourself from it immediately, preferably with buckshot to the roof of your mouth
I thought the game was bad and underwhelming until I started ch 3 so yes.
anyone else killed super boss
Bayo 1 > W101 > Astral Chain > Bayo 2 > MGR > Vanquish > NieR > Transformers >>>> All their shitty activision tie in games.
Haven't played the rest. I know a lot of people prefer Bayo 2 to 1 and I think its a much more polished, user friendly game but dont think it was worth the sacrafices to combat depth, others may disagree and thats fine.
The main thing holding Astral Chain back is its scoring system. It might not sound like a big deal but S+ is just too easy to get if you just make use of all the mechanics since you can use items and take damage with no penalty. Now I know this isn't really as bad as I make it out to be since in something like Bayo you can get by using just your guns and no other weapons while Astral Chain encourages you to make use of your full skillset, but I think most players are going to understand sync attacks and how to use all 5 of their legions and what not so S+'s are going to be given out to most people who complete the longer battle segments. This means less people are going to squeeze the full depth out of the combat system which hurts the games replayability on the whole.
>Silent protag

Why does this game look like something on the ps1?
Maybe you should play a PS1 game before commenting on it
Not him but yes I've seen temporal shapes during a heroic dose of mushrooms in a dark room
>simple combat
>bad controls
Ask how I know you didn't play the game
>Pro-Police
This is just bait but I'm gonna reply anyway
This game absolutely exemplifies the kind of absolutely retard tier characters, dialogue, and stories that weebs are willing to accept because they are literally brain damaged by consuming media made for 12 year olds 24/7\
Don't (you) me
Are S+'s any harder to get on higher difficulties outside of Platinum Standard?
Want to know how I know you've not played the game?
I haven't finished it yet but for the moment I think it's better than bayo and tw101
Retarded stories / characters / dialogue are what I look for in an action game honestly
thanks, im guessing they will explain it soon
does the license even do anything
Want to know how I know you haven't played the game?
I'm picking up my collectors edition today, pretty hype to finally play the game
nier made me too accustomed to mashing dodge
the game needed more fusions
>One combo
>No jumping
>Silent protag
Ahahahahaha but you people defend it because "it gets 400 hours in" and "I can play it on the go!" Refunded this shit right away.
I'm on chapter 4
Make sure you do all the new training modules that come up
Actually, I'm pretty sure they force you to at the start of mission 3
It teaches you how syncing works
>playing a game that focuses on gameplay
lol nintendies are cute
stop being a cock guzzling retard, retard.
people expect 60 from platinum.
very sad.
Bummer, I'm not fond of that kind of stuff, but oh well.
Out of all ARPGs, KH2FM is still like one of the only games that got it right with Critical, your damage output is nearly as high as playing on easy and you have a lot of abilities unlocked from the start, but enemies hit twice as hard and go into their DMs more often, so every encounter becomes a ballet of death.
Do they change up their patterns at least?
>Its not as good as Auto
lmao
>Caring about the story in a game like this
???????????????
Have fun user, you've probably heard from these threads but expect to be bummed out by the combat at first, they dont give you your most basic abilities until the end of chapter 2 and dont teach you how to use them till the start of chapter 3, and then the combat only gets better and better from there.
I don't know about best, but it's definitely my favorite. The slower pace lets them give your attacks big meaty animations like it's monster hunter or something and I can enjoy it even with my shit reflexes unlike other character action games. And despite this, it doesn't feel shallow at all like Automata did. Between the weapons, legions, and items which you're actually encouraged to use for once there are so many options that it's almost overwhelming. Really nice sense of progression with all that stuff too. I'm also a big fan of the exploration/investigation bits and I hope it does well enough for a sequel or expansion. Wouldn't mind if it was on a stronger system so that I could enjoy my character customization without all the jaggies though.
IDK doesn't say it does
DMT is such a fucking meme drug.
All it does is give you a 5 minute long seizure where you see a bunch of flashy fractals and/or talk to God that winds up landing you in a psych ward for a few months.
I think even beyond replayability, the scoring system is really important in teaching people how to be good at the game, so it's always a bummer if it has some weird flaw because then it teachers you to do something degenerate or stupid. A great example is DMC5's style points which has the bizarre flaw of teaching you to run away from optional fights. So Astral Chain might end up teaching you to just cycle through everything for no real reason, which is a pretty significant flaw.
>Unchanged attack
it's "unchained attack" since they are no longer chained.
ESL go home
what is the point of empty cans
Well it WAS a good thread. Guess this means jannies deleted the metacritic threads
Then I guess you can't play any console ganes at all. Poor little baby
To piss into during long nights at the precinct
I think you can throw them at enemies
The plot felt like a rehashing of Evangelion down to like 90% of the story beats.
in file 2, what are the recycling bins for and how was i supposed to get passed the laser wall? there was also a spot that had a dog symbol like that one legion. is it something for a second playthrough?
You can't get through 99% of the stuff in File 2 until you replay it
I guess on the bright side if peopel are swapping out a bunch they're more likely to discover the unique aspects of each legion. The Scoring system here could honestly even work alright without adding subtractives if it was better balanced, it actually feels decent on the shorter encounters but any long fight is basically a garunteed S+.
Also what the fuck was the point of adding Devil Trigger on the second last chapter and making it take so long to charge you're likely to only use it like 2-3 times total from when you get it until the credits. It honestly feels like something that they'd come up with for a sequel that made its way into the end of the first game instead.
so i tried going back to file 1 but it put me in file 5 and now file select is grayed ou?
It's literally just Evangelion without the interesting characters. I didn't really care since I was barely paying attention to the story anyway.
It's still a shame they didn't try harder. Wonderful 101 is basically just a ripoff of Gurren Lagann but I enjoyed the characters in that game way more.
you throw them into the recycle bins during the investigation parts and you get 50 duty points for each one
thank u
Itsuno said that he considers the most fun mode, and the real game, to be Son of Sparda when you have access to the DT for the full game
They probably didn't think about it too much, honestly. It's a very harmless mechanic that doesn't really brake the game at all because it's so short and takes so long to charge.
>Evangelion.
>Interesting Characters
What? All them are assholes, pussies or kaworu.
Get in the fucking Legion, Shinji
moving the goal, nice.
>Character flaws prevent a character from being interesting
Sub-80 IQ right there
Evangelion is the Seinfeld of anime -- the characters look kind of bland and stereotypical in the modern age, until you look back and realize that Evangelion was one of the major factors involved in putting these traits/stereotypes into place.
>but sony!
All of platinum's other games are 60, including nintendo ones like W101. Eat a dick faggot
>LMAO idiot! its a switch game! its AUTOmatically (get it?) better than that crap game
Fucking hell the cringe levels here.
@476374181
>console sperg
k
It's still going to be 30 fps emulated. Sure someone else will have made a 60 fps hack that you parasites will latch onto, but it's going to introduce all kinds of glitches and breaking behavior.
Of course this is all going to be years down the line. So it's going to go down like this: PC-only-poorfags are going to spend $1000 on a top of the line computer to play a shitty glitchy emulated version in four years, by which time a new $300 console with Astral Chain 2 and a re-release that runs at a higher resolution and framerate which will be better in every way.
>he doesn't have an @ script
First day here?
Why is it so hard for people to just accept that the Switch has some good games on it? Why can't we just say when a game is good, or when a game is bad? He didn't even mention consoles.
Please evolve beyond banal console warring.
>Why is it so hard for people to just accept that the Switch has some good games on it?
It does, people call it a port machine for good reason. Nearly all of the worth while PC indie titles are also on switch.
>make game 60fps
>completely fucks the mechanics/physics like KH2FM emulated
Its unbelievable how bad console war shit is on Yea Forums considering it essentially breaks two rules at once (having to be over 18 to post, and no flagrant fanboyism)
Does synching during finishers actually do anything?
I have ARMS, XC2, BOTW, AC, Odyssey, and Smash on my Switch and that's it. I don't even really like XC2, but I don't want to sell it in the event that I get the itch.
I have four games on my PS4. SamSho, Bloodborne, and SFV and MHW (both of which I also own on PC). I still love my PS4, because I love those games enough to have made the purchase worth it for me.
Switch has ports, but it still has plenty of original games that are great.
increases points for the rank and gives you more gene code
Your combat move options open up on mission 3, so it'll get easier, also use the chain, the game really wants you to use the chain
I think it gives more duty points (XP)
Same as collecting red matter
Fuck, just started doing it in file 5.
No, Wonderful 101 is still the undethroned king of Platinum Games.
Should I do Casual or Platinum Standard? Is Casual too easy?
>ARMS
Are you even being serious? Its a crap mini game to tech demo the crappy joycons
>AC
Platinum doing its best to release another middling overhyped shit game. 101 and Automata are the only good games they've released. Yes, including Bayo fuck face.
>Odyssey
Only good game you've mentioned so far.
>Smash
Same game it was 20 years ago. No wait its even worse because they've added more bloat but OH BOY SOMETHING FOR MY AMIIBOS!
I'm playing on Platinum Standards. I'm getting plenty of D ranks but it's not like the game's impossibly hard, I just need to get good.
>Brings up sony
RENT FUCKING FREE lol
7 revives and no ranking in casual
PT has 4 revives and ranking
casual is easy PT standard is normal unchained is very easy and ultimate is hard
>tfw use my switch exclusively handheld mode and dont have a pro controller
maybe i should just submit to the nintendo jews
Why would you need a pro controller? The joycon in its plastic house does literally the same job.
Play Platinum Standard. The final boss is the only thing you'll really struggle with and you can turn it down before a mission if you really struggle anyway. Don't be put off by your low rankings in the first two chapters, the combat opens up and you'll score way higher as it goes on from File 03.
If you can handle the battle system in XC2, then you got a good little timesink RPG.
>he played two hours of ARMS and got filtered into thinking it was simplistic
Unlike Smash, ARMS is an actual fighting game. There's tons of tech out there and a lot more depth than it may seem. It's like the SamSho of 3D fighters. Footsies and neutral with practically no combos. The game is fun as shit if you play it correctly and put some time into it.
I don't expect you to understand why it's good, though.
>want to play this game
>switch has joycon drift
>Nintendo still acts like nothing happens
FUUUUUU
>ARMS is an actual fighting game
There is some hot takes in this thread but fucking hell user..
I liked XC1 and XCX, but XC2 just didn't hook me. I didn't like the story / aesthetic as much as the others. I don't really like how the Blade system works, as well. Not conceptually - it's the same deal with Legions, which I love - but in terms of how it messes with the game. It introduces a lot of extra micro I don't care to deal with.
It's not a bad game, but I'll just stick with XCX and XC1.
Pro controller has better sticks and shoulder buttons. alongside bigger face buttons which are a more subjective improvement. The main sacrafice, and its honestly a little major in Astral Chain, is the D-pad which can often give unwanted inputs, swap weapons and you're likely to open photo mode or your case files at least a few times over the course of your playthrough. But I think the larger analog sticks add a lot when controlling two characters. That being said its very subjective overall. I have a friend who swears by joycons as the seperated controller style appeals to him a lot.
ill admit i forgot i had the plastic house and havent tried that yet, but more importantly for me is that the analogs and buttons on my joycons feel fragile, dont wanna screw them up playing an action game
>Google "ARMS wikipedia"
>"ARMS is a fighting game"
Saying ARMS isn't a fighting game is like saying SamSho isn't a fighting game because it has no combos.
8bitdo/mayflash adapters for $20 are a good choice if you already have xbox or ps4 controllers laying around
Chapter 3 is like 1.5 hours into the game tho
the combat. unfortunately that's 10% of the game.
>in a thread for 3-4 hours constantly bringing up Sony and making the same post over and over
I can't begin to imagine how pathetic your life is. You wake up in the morning, too jaded to play video games and go on a shitty forum to endlessly interrupt discussion just so you can feel good about yourself with the attention you get because fuck man, no-one else has ever paid attention to you. You scoff at people enjoying themselves because you've forgotten how that feels. To enjoy something. It feels alien now right? You can tell me I'm projecting all you want but deep down, you know I'm right user. Get some help, it might not be too late.
Have you tried recalibrating the control sticks in options? I've seen it work as at least a temporary solution. Pro controller is the only REAL fix though.
Does anyone know if the prize for using all the toilets is a new outfit or just another palette swap?
no, the game explains most of the real combat tactics in 3. 2 is the "oh shit" chapter
i use a straw to fix the left joycon and works perfectly for a week but the right one drift down randomly no matter what, i might buy a pro controller one day
The post got deleted
more than likely it'll come in DLC, since we got a LOT of unanswered questions in this.
I'm only on chapter 4 so don't tell me anything
>Quoting the wrong post
Try quoting the one where people keeping crying about sony because it certainly wasn't mine, I was pointing it out. Learn to read.
Not planning on spoiling anything. Was just saying that there's some things that come up and don't get answered. that's all.
>Its a "user psychoanalysis another based on a single line of text" post
Based tell me more about myself.
Did they ever released a single game that was running at 60fps? I'm not talking about PC ports 10 years later done by someone else
it has lifebars, rounds, throws, okizeme, parries, perfect guard, supers and is basically entirely based on footsies
it's a fighting game, albeit not a very good one
I wasn't quoting the wrong post, dipshit. I'm talking about you, crying every time someone mentions Sony and spamming RENT FREE with your pathetic console war menial shit.
There's no horde mode, but once you finish the story there's a clear chapter where you can take on dozens of challenge fights that get increasingly difficult.
Not all fighting games have to be Street Fighter II clones.
The thread just starts with people discussing the game, until someone comes in there and brings up how it's only being loved because it's a Nintendo exclusive
People respond to him about how he's wrong, and then everyone jumps down THEIR throats for daring to react in the first place
People are complaining about Sony because they're crashing these threads
I'm fine with that - concrete answers can take away from the mystery
>In the thread for 3-4 hours bringing up sony
>Haven't brought up sony once
>Call you out (Because lets be honest, I was clearly quoting you) for being a rent free console war faggot who can't stop bringing up nintendo
>R-REEE YOU'RE JUST ANGRY AND ALONE AND HATE VIDEO GAMES AND FUN
You need to calm down.
automata is trash, much like your terrible taste.
>Automata is trash
Why underground cult games do you like user? I too think popular things are bad.
Don't wanna get off-topic (even though the console warring is causing it, anyway) but how is ARMS a bad fighting game? Not trying to start shit, but I want to hear your reasoning.
The motion controls can be finnicky sometimes, but I think it's a great game. It's not my "main" game, though. I primarily play SFV and SamSho, with a dash of SC6.
>a new nintendo exclusive has another top tier titty monster
how do we stop them? they can't keep getting away with this
>how is ARMS a bad fighting game
Because its a no content waggle-thon made to demo the joycons at a party, but it can't even do that well. Its a shit game, a terrible fighting game, and a bad party game. It has nothing going on. People only defend ARMs because its an exclusive.
The rest of their games clearly WANTED to be 60FPS on consoles but rarely got anywhere close. I think Revengeance was an exception and W101 was pretty close outside of some clear exceptions. Astral Chain wants to be 30fps which is an obvious downgrade in its own way, but at least the game is built around it so it ends up being a relative nonissue. I would say framerate dips are more intrusive than a lower framerate in general, the Vorkken fights frame drops feel absolutely awful for example, and much worse than just having the whole game run at a consistent lower framerate. Astral Chain has frame drops but they're basically all outside of combat. The boss fights are all perfectly stable despite the sheer scale and amount of effects on display near the end, which ends up making the lower framerate feel invisible once you've gotten used to it.
Eh, 30fps typically feels better anyway. Sure 60 is more responsive obviously but it just doesn't feel as good as 30.
Based on the way you're typing, I don't think you're the one I asked. He seemed to at least understand fighting game terminology - you failed to mention any of it.
>the console warrior accusing everyone else of being a console warrior is back
Reminder to report and ignore. Ban evading is against the rules.
Maybe stop giving him attention you shitter
I love Astral Chain and I don't have an issue with the framerate but this has to be some falseflag to make us look retarded
60fps always feels better in every game without exceptions
>made to demo the joycons
is it possible to just use buttons tho?
I'm not the one responding to him (unless it's you).
>but it's popular!!
too bad it also has the worst combat of any major platinum game
>t. someone that can't fathom that people are enjoying a game he doesn't own
That was my first post in the thread, user. I'm glad you at least admitted to being the same user that's been posting the same thing for hours on end. Take a break.
>Makes post about console war shitter, even if its to say ignore/report
>I'm totally not paying attention
I agree, that was my point. Their games runs at 40-60 fps which imho is worse than stable 30fps. Obviously stable 60 would be better, but let's not pretend The Wonderful 101 or Bayonetta were locked 60.
bait
I didn't say it was bad, I said it wasn't very good
I didn't like the lack of distinct offensive moves between characters who mostly differentiated themselves through their defensive options, I also thought movement felt very awkward which is strange for a 1st party nintendo game with very short dashes and floaty jumps
>60fps always feels better in every game without exceptions
No, sometimes 30fps feels better. It depends on the game and emotional feeling you're trying to give. Sometimes, 30fps is just more fitting. Can't explain it, if you don't get it you don't get it, sorry. If you think Astral Chain needs to be 60fps, you're missing the point.
>Someone says the game is bad
>Rather than ignore or engage in discussion everyone flips their shit and starts screaming about sony fanboys
Maybe you lot bring it on yourself, ever think of that? Maybe you're the problem?
It's locked to 30fps and the resolution is dynamic between 720p and 900p. The average is 810p.
It is. I don't even like ARMS but it's clear that poster hasn't even touched the game.
I feel like everyone misunderstands why Automata is underwhelming.
The most important thing is for a game to try to be as best as it can at whatever it wants to focus on. NieR / Drakengard games were never gameplay focused, so Automata's weak gameplay is actually a step above the rest of the series. What the real selling point of those games are is the weird world and compelling, and often fucked up (especially in Drakengard's case) narrative.
The problem is that Automata's story and world isnt anywhere near as good as the first game. So it ends up being worse at being a NieR game than the previous NieR game, its got better gameplay sure but the gameplay is worse than the other games of the same type.
When a game doesnt excel in any given area they can still be great if everything comes together into a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts but for Automata that just doesnt happen, and I think the main reason the game was so popular and well recieved is because nobody played the rest of the series.
>The average is 810p.
Imagine thinking this is at all acceptable in 2019. 1080p is low end nowadays.
pic related is you
>This is one of the weirdest games I've ever played in my life.
What's so weird about it? Nothing's really jumped out at me as being overly weird. And I still say that Planescape: Torment is one of the weirder games I've played for a few reasons, one of which is seeing an alleyway give birth to a new section of the city.
Anyone have a case guide for the files? Missing some and its pissing me off.
That's fair. The different arms provide the main deviation between fights, although certain abilities can make specific matchups feel very different. I think the individual abilities do a good job making the characters feel different, although I would like to see some more in the inevitable sequel (considering the game sold around 3 million copies). Maybe different Supers and two special moves per character.
Movement does feel strange, I will agree with that. You get used to it, though.
One of the main reasons I love the game is its art style, though. It looks like 60's manga and anime. Stuff like Lupin. I'd love for them to refine it and make a sequel. There's still people playing online to this day - queuing up during peak hours can get you a game in under a minute, and there's frequent online tournaments.
30fps can feel more like a movie, because movies are running closer to 30fps, but I still don't think that shit should ever be in a game. Astral Chain isn't made any worse by not being 60fps, because the 30fps is at least consistent, but there's no denying it would at least be a better game with 60fps.
>Haha user you're upset that this otherwise great game is locked to a shit resolution and frame rate
Yes, and?
thanks. I was thinking about picking it up.
that game is the literal opposite of waggle, you waggle once you lose the match, if anything the gameplay is too slow and "calculated", it's borderline steel battalion
Pic related describes the relation between you and me.
Im guessing what user's feeling is less "weird" and more "different". When it comes down to it so many games we play nowadays are essentially just clones of games that came before, and "genre" is just "what game is this a clone of". Astral Chain, while definitely wearing it's inspirations on it's sleeve, comes together into a whole that is unique from most of the stuff on the market.
>unironic graphicsfags
Amazing how far we've come that absolute shitbrains like this feel welcome here.
>it's borderline steel battalion
>all Personas share the same pool of resources for upgrades
How am I supposed to know which Stands to upgrade and which to not? Am I supposed to upgrade all of my Blades or just one or two?
By weird, I mean there's just a ton of shit going on. The combat is extremely unique. There's janky RPG stuff thrown in there. Police investigations. Alternate reality space cops. It's just a weird game in a good way.
Yep. The combat just feels totally unique.
I'd go so far as to say this is the most unique and original combat in an action game since God Hand.
Upgrade all of them, but when it becomes available you might want to try to get the axe legion's two signature moves asap since they're both great. Perfect call should be a priority for all of them.
all up to you
for me by the end only my sword was all leveled up with all the others close behind
Whichever ones you like to use more often. Specific ones are only really necessary for isolated puzzle sections / very specific enemy weaknesses.
If you like one more than the others, just upgrade it since that's what you'll be rolling with during standard combat. It's up to you.
user, i love drugs, but you really aren't doing yourself any favors. if you think "astral" in any way correlates to drugs, you need to reexamine yourself and your priorities.
Some upgrades are clearly more useful than others, so you can spring for those and get the good ones on everything for those sweet S+ ranks.
The only thing better than relaxing with some astral chain is reading about butthurt zoomers or non-idort poorfags who can't appreciate it.
This
I really like how Vanquish's gameplay loop ended up, and I feel like it's pretty distinct from this
>All these (you)s
Another fruitfull harvest.
You'll want to upgrade -all- of them, but honestly the game's such where you cna just make use of the L skills when needed and just be carried by Sword for a first time playing, grind up some code and then upgrade everyone later.
>Sword honestly is the best 'Jack-of-all-trades', does everything, lacks nothing (outside of a direct stun).
>Arrow is for sniping shit and hanging back, OK for combo extenders as well, but not very 'fun' as a ancor.
>Arm is punch and grab and more punching. ZL will outright have them GRAB something to let you combo off of them, and armored suit mode's one of the better direct damage L skills in the game
>Beast is rapid fury striking, stuns, and is a good boy. Digging mid combat's kind of a chore though, but needed in a few cases. L skill makes you invulnerable more or less.
>Axe is the end all answer to breaking armor and just being big cleaving hits. Can give you a 3 barrier shield to outright ignore taking damage as well.
At least get the howl for the Beast because it'll just be your best friend at staggering, and Black Hole for them Arm will make group comboing a snap.
>bad controls
>simple combat
what
>no jumping
it's not done traditionally but you can still do it
>boring level design
what?
I'm at chapter 5 and the combo potential of this game is getting ridiculous.
I just got the dog legion and bot it and the sword legion can use unchained which gives you 3 total legions on the map at the same time.
I don't understand why anyone buy snoyiggers would say that this game is just button mashing
as a fan of Drakengard and the original Nier as well as Automata, Automata resonated with me more and the ending(s) were personally the most impactful of any Yoko Taro game I've played. I think it just boils down to opinion and personal experience.
I still haven't gotten good at jumping towards the Legion for air combos
It just feels finicky
No you're slow, it drains like a bitch, and your options go out the window.
Beast's perfect call sync attack is pretty nuts. Staggerlocks everything around you for like 5 seconds and you're free to move and attack while it's going on.
can anyone give me some damn hints on where some costume peices are? I hear your supposed to be able to find the heavy chestpeice like your dad wears somewhere in file 2 and so far after coming back here with all 5 legions I want to call bullshit.
ZL, to summon, ZL again to send you legion to the flying fuckers, ZL + ZR to dash towards them in the air, and spam ZR
Can you sell all salvage aside from cat food? I don't wanna fuck myself by selling the dented armor
I don't think you can have three out at once, I think it'll cancel the legion previously doing a skill. The combo potential is there but the game is so strict with launching and relaunching that it's very hard to actually do a true combo.
orders and gold slimes
aside from cat food and empty cans yes
>Why do you think that anything even remotely creative in any media comes from doing drugs?
t. non creative brain dead peon
You can't have more than 1 out but some legions get skills that let you keep their buffs while they're dismissed, don't know if same buffs stack however.
>have to hop off Astral Chain so I don't fall behind my friends in WoW Classic
You can eventually farm Dented armors its not that big of a deal.
You get the Lappy suit from getting all 6 pieces, the ugly civilian suit from the story, the raven suit from challenges and the medical suit from helping toilet fairy.
How do you get more cat food anyways? From marie from picking up cats like toilet paper for the faerie
>Been consistent finding the gold slimes
>Finally got all the legion colors I want
I'm glad they just kinda pop up normally in later chapters now rather than me having to backtrack.
>Found the gold slimes in every chapter so far
>Only managed to actually kill the one in the subway station
Turns out I misread the tracking info. I'm not getting it until next week.
I'm never fucking preordering from EB games again, I have done it in the past but as an in store pickup, I decided I would just have it delivered this time, I didn't realise it would take over a fucking week.
Now I'm gonna miss out on all the discussion of the game since everybody will have already finished it by the time I get it.
>Playing a shit game
> civilian suit
> ugly
nigga that shits got blade runner written all over it and i love it
is that all there is? there's no cop helmets or heavy chestplate like you see some of the other cops wearing? I was kinda expecting there to be something I can actually wear other than the default shit in this locker
looks like endless colour slots to me boss
sword slash with focus helps
Where do you find the fusion boss?
The heavy chestplate is the one already mentioned in an early file. I wouldn't be surprised if they have costume DLC if they have DLC at all.
you can get the helmet.
theres no guide as to how to get post cosmetics/clothing and shit right now so you just gotta wing it
file 6
Where in file 6, I'm looking but can't find him
It's alright with friends, but I could say that about every game. Just something to do.
Was talking about Astral.
Seriously, all this talk about Marie or Olivia or Ass-cop but no one is even breathing a word about Best Girl who is always there with a kind word and support for you no matter where you are -- Vendor-3.
you know the bridge next to ryan after u protect his ass from his mooks?
go to the roof of the building where you had to take down the flooring to get upstairs and you should see platforms floating.
use arm legion and traverse to the building across
I had a chuckle.
You mean kyle?
yeah kyle.
my bad
sigh, fine i'll buy your stupid game platinum, i hate being a jojofag
which early file? and which part of that file? give me specifics godammit, I just reread the entire thread to see if someone mentioned it already after you said that.
never bought anything from it the whole game
So, can you fuse whenever once you do it during the fused akira fight?
>Pick male, get to hear fems cutie voice
>Pick female, get Platinum grade cheek physics but no cute voice
What do I do?
yes but the meter takes forever to charge up so from that point until the end you'll probably only do it 2 or 3 more times
It's on a meter that appears on your HUD once you beat Chapter 10. It takes a long time to charge so you gotta use it sparingly.
> mother fuckers on Yea Forums not telling us where to get equipment to wear when people ask
i hate this shit so much
It's file 2 or 3 and it's in a standard treasure chest that's hidden out of the way, if I remember right. I can't recall the exact location, what with all the exporing every nook and cranny in every file. Maybe there's an article about it online?
if its the one on the fire escape that shits impossible to fucking reach.
the fucking cutscene triggers before you can ever get there
well considering file 2 is small and I am fucking going over this level with a fine tooth comb and getting jack shit I guess it's in file 3, file 3 is the one where you find the cat colony, you mean that one right? and not the one where everyone gets their stands taken off of them?
>can't do webm's with sound
>not going to post my twitter here either
I would show them off otherwise.
Maybe you can reach it before starting the combat section of the file.
That sounds more likely.
You can pick the other twin any time you want by simply replaying the first mission.
Music is cool
you cant
the area is blocked off until you finish it
she has the body of a top tier porn actress, but she also has something most IRL females lack, A FUCKING SOUL
>start file 4
>plot is literally Evangelion
Damn. I thought the whole "the main tool of the heroes is actually an enemy they control through technology" was a coincidence.
Bravo, Platinum.
Shut up.
Well, there are no truly impossible chests; files in the same area have different chest spawns. I really can't remember where it was, so the one you're thinking of might be random shit. You can definitely get it the first time through, so it's not locked off by a legion you don't have.
Music's good.
Gameplay feels more like an RPG than an action game, it's ok. The doge is fucking clunky as shit, though.
Story doesn't seem like anything out of the ordinary so far. The slow mo in the cutscenes gets kind of annoying.
the bitter, crushing, absolutely hilarious irony of this completely self unaware, self-own of a post
TV told me drugs will make me creative and stuff. Also have you seen Bill Hicks' standup? Like he said, nothing interesting has ever been made without the aid of drugs. This is not the opinion of a naive 19 year old, this is definitely accurate to the real world.
I'm really fucking bad at this game. It seems like it's basically impossible to actually die because of how finishing enemies heals you but getting good scores I can't do it.
Is this game similar to Chaos Legion or not?
>Gameplay feels more like an RPG than an action game,
what file are you on
Drugs and Mental Illness
You can still be creative without them, but its like lifting on roids vs natty.
you'll die eventually don't worry
yeah I was about to say, which rpg has combat remotely similar to this
if you're going to say dark souls please shut the fuck up in advance
do I get multiple weapons of the same type in this game because so far all I have is 1 gun and one baton please tell me there is more
your only weapons are the baton the gun and the baton in heavy attack mode
You get a huge sword in File 3, it's amazing
You're a cop, man. You get your cop gun, your cop baton, and your cop sword and that's it.
I think the best mentality to take with a game like this is to care less about what the game thinks of your victory, and more about how you feel about it. With all sorts of upgrades I have 4 revives on Pt. Standard. I nevered needed more than 1 until the final boss at which point I needed 6 and it still took me several attempts. I would still say that portions of the game besides the final boss were hard though, not because I couldnt complete them, but that I saw losing a single AED charge as a person failure state in my mind.
Scores will end up being given out for basically free once you get the mechanics down because there's no subtraction only more or less addition, so longer fights are almost garunteed S+'s if you're playing as intended. Combat takes a while to click though so just keep pushing at it, you'll get it eventually.
You get an heavy sword too early on, and then can upgrade your weapons to add combo options, as well as upgrade your Legion to add synch attack opportunities in tandem with your weapon combos.
fuck astral chain, give me Zetman Act 2
you get a sword, and that completes your triumverate of light, heavy and ranged, your combo strings are like half the size they should be until file 3 anyways,
Guys, are toilet faeries real?
i get what you mean, when I started playing i thought it was weird the player only got a few moves but i guessed its because you would rely more on your legion. fast forward to jumping in the gate and now we go from simple combo to full platinuim fuckin crazy. plus getting zandatsu with the sword legion.
its like they put everything in from their previous games into this and I fucking love it
wish the framerate was better though
>paying to do chores
lmao
Why doesn't the MC weaken legions for other people to capture and use?
It's kinda funny how Akira never even said a word after you snagged the axe legion right in front of him.
what are you talking about, he straight up told me to handle the capturing
Anyone know any other ways to stun besides Howl? Howl's a great tool but it feels better suited to dealing with a larger number of enemies (especially when combined with Arm's Gravity) and is thus better to follow up with some sort of AOE damage dealer rather than picking a single enemy off for a launcher. I know i've gotten stuns before without using Howl but dont know if there's any consistent rules with it.
Good nintendo is right
also just in general scifi>>>>>>>>>>>>>>fantasy
Is there any way to check the command skills that you've unlocked from leveling up the baton?
help menu in the options
Breaking shield is an easy way
Some enemies have specific things that will stun them
Charging enemies will get stunned after a chain counter, flying/winged enemies will sometimes get stunned after a charged arrow shot
>thinking act 2 will ever happen
you're a funny guy user
>Three Protolegions and a boss shooting lightning at me
>Out of healing items
I thought I was gonna need to restart. Anyone have any crowd conntrol tips? Nothing seems to stop these guys from attacking.
The ones they use are specially prepped in the lab first, not wild pokemon.
I'm pretty sure Stuns like Beast's Howl skill should work.
Yoseph gets a boner from seeing a bunch of legions stuck in one legatus. He's also your boss and ordered everyone else to just be your support team.
the actual final boss fight was pretty fun but everything outside of it during the ending felt really retarded
>astral chain thread hits bump limit with some decent discussion and minimal shitposting
good job
you missed the other one that did the same, very comfy
so... how long until I can emulate it?
NEVER EVER
They were all kind of shit at using them, honestly. Imagine having to go through the entire game with that starting moveset.
