SNK is fighting games and Metal Slug so choosing a fighter would make more sense, but it would also be boring
this is DLC, they're supposed to be crazy and special so the devs need to stop retreading the same character types

Anytime people want to put a recognized fighting game character into Smash I just roll my fucking eyes. Why would I want to see a character who has an identical moveset in 5 other games do the same fucking thing in Smash? Even when Smash reuses anime swordmen, there's something new there.

I like the way mai plays in her own games but I am not sure how well it would translate to smash.
Benimaru on the other hand would work great in smash.

SNK felt like Capcom intentionally gave their characters the short end of the stick when they were making CvS2 so they'll probably never make a sequel.

I can at least accept Ryu and maybe a KoF character because they're important. I just don't think people appreciate the opportunities Smash grants for new types of fighting gameplay- we could get a Rhythm Heaven character who introduces beat-based attacks or Drill Dozer for stage destruction. Those choices combine niche series with niche gameplay concepts for interesting results.

Same reason I begrudgingly accept Fire Emblem characters, they're important but boring.

Not really, most pure zoner characters suck, like Isabelle, she's weak. Mega Man and Young Link are good but they're not going to come up in bracket as often as a DLC character will.

I have no real attachment to their games, but I played one of the KoFs at an arcade once, so that's something. None of the front runners really speak to me, but I can find at least a few things to like about them.

The fact that it might have been a fuckup with SNK Heroines doesn't deter me at all. Part of me really wants it to be Marco if it does happen, but I'd be more than fine with Terry, too as long as they don't give him a proper English voice actor.
