Is there any point to having different units

>swadian cavalry
>rhodok archers
>nord infantry

infantry is needed for taking and defending castles and cities

imagine not being a rhodok lmao

Archers are good for cheesing sieges. Infantry is inferior to cavalry in everything but upkeep cost, which is not an issue once you conquer 4 sities or so.

good look sieging retard

Mamlukes >>> Knights
FIGHT ME

Where does one find a beginners guide to this game what mods are needed? What are the best mods?

I am, and it's going smooth

desu swadian knights are still perfectly good for sieges, you just have to deal with the fact that you'll lose some of them

>with just cavalry it seems like they can do literally anything
Except walk up hills

*blocks your army*

Tell me what mod I should play and why.

you don't need anything like that, it's not like stalker where the game is borderline unplayable without mods

just play vanilla for a while to get a feel for the game, and then you can install some QOL/vanilla plus mods like diplomacy or an overhaul mods that changes the setting and adds new mechanics

OK nice, and how much of a learning curve or getting in curve is there, because I don't like to commit to many games that require too much learning at the one time

For open regular battles, nope, Swadian knights are just the best
Nope, not in general, having like 20 on top of knight is good for finishing kerghorseturks faster though.

This, rhodok sharpshooter are amazing for defeating cities without having to charge up the ladders. Just shoot until out, retreat and do it again. It doesn't work so well if AI lords are attacking with you though, so go it alone. You'll get + moral as long as your kill rate was higher then losses, which may not be the case if AI come in with you since you'll have less sharpshooter. Also, you can just bring knights for a shield wall and shoot them all yourself, takes longer but fun.

It's good to put like 20-30 rhodok sergeants in castle or city, backed up with 40 sharpshooters. If you really want o charge up ladders Huskarls are the best BUT they will still go down and they take the most effort to replace. IMO sharpshooting everyone is the best.

Huscarls are still far superior for the job

>Turns around to to face me when I straif em with arrows from horseback

What the fuck i'm reading?

Cavalry gets fucked against Nords.

Their stats and equipment are shit for siege fights. Nords will wreck your shit. Vaegirs too. Rhodok niggers will turn you into pin cushions. They can beat khergits and sand niggers, but thats like beating some paraplegic kid.

Perisno because its got more content in it than most mods combined.

Diplomacy is the best. It's just the base game with more features.

Is there a mod that makes throwing weapons not complete shit?

What difficulty are you guys playing on? I turned both settings to normal, and I get knocked out and kidnapped pretty much every other week.

That's normal, you just have to invest a lot into training your soldiers and buying good armor to survive
What I personally do always is go around winning tournaments when I start out fresh and invest it in cities

>tfw horse gets downed so you spent the entire fight blocking 20 guys at once until your soldiers catch up to you

I usually play on normal settings for the first month or two and once I manage to take a castle turn them all the way down since at that point losing 20 sharpshooters and 50 huscarals just increases the grind

What a slut.
The start is always a grind, keep a low profile and hunt small bandit parties, using your loot to make more money.
Socialize with other lords too.
