This is the only Yakuza game I haven't played besides Isshin and the other Japanese one. Is it worth it?

play it once and never again

Play for the comfy okinawa, engrish, albert wesker cameo and Kamurocho Lullaby

I assume you mean to play the remaster? The original is shit, sub HD and no frames.

I already watched the whole playthrough on Youtube and I gotta say im not impressed.

Imho gameplay wise:
Yakuza 0 > Yakuza 5 > Yakuza K2 > Yakuza 4 > Yakuza K1 > Ass > Dogshit > Yakuza 6

So idk where 3 will lie but it looks pretty bad.

ok

>I already watched the whole playthrough on Youtube
>He said this without a hint of irony
This board has gone to shit with retards like you infesting it.

then theres literally no point in playing it if you already know the whole story. The gameplay is not enough to keep you hooked on its own

Thats what i needed to know. So nothing special gameplay wise, no new minigames or anything worthwhile that aren't in 4,5,0,K2,K1, and 6?

3 and 4 ran solid on the ps3 tho.
5 is where all the problems lie

ANIKI!

It's a play once kind of game. I wouldn't say there's anything WRONG with it persay, but it's easily the weakest game in the series.

kys retard

>5 is where all the problems lie
I think you mean Dead Souls.

>tfw Dead Souls still run at 15fps for me on RPCS3
whatever magic they did with kenzan they need to do with Dead Souls and the other PS3 yakuza games.

Kenzan was the first ps3 game and the reason it runs so well is it doesn't do anything that taxes the ps3.

Even though 5 is laggy, i think its easily of the best games in the whole series next to 4 and 0. Yakuza Kiwami 2 is okay but the controls aren't as responsive as the ps2 one sadly. Yakuza Kiwami is Yakuza 0 but without all the good parts.

Yeah but the other yakuza games all run on the same engine.

Those other games didn't have shooting mechanics crowbar'd in

>Those other games didn't have shooting mechanics
They did, have you ever played a Yakuza game? They only really altered the shooting controls but Yakuza games always had guns and shooting mechanics, it was just never worth it because of the shitty durability mechanics.

You're literally fucking stupid, the main yakuza games all have guns.

Yeah but they didn't try to have them work like an over the shoulder shooter. They were just another combat weapon previously.

Well dead souls is fucking dumb anyways. Infact thats the other game i never played.

Yeah, don't bother. The only good it did was give the yakuza team the experience in shooting mechanics they needed to make an actually good third-person shooter game.

Didn't that game run like shit on ps3?

The only laggy PS3 games on the PS3 itself are Dead Souls, 5, Ishin, 0, and Kiwami. Kenzan, 3, and 4 are all running at lower resolutions and not really taxing the PS3 which is why they run better. In Dead Souls' case it's because they had tons of zombies, eyeball effects, smoke, and fire everywhere causing ridiculous amounts of lag. Even in areas like Kamuro Theater Underground it's still laggy due to the zombie count, even more so if you're on Dead Souls difficulty due to the eyeball effects. Kenzan didn't do anything really crazy outside of the wheat moving in the field where the Tengu and Seskishusai are, the Oni Sentai fortress being as big as it is, the castle there you use the explosives/fight Shishido, and I guess Gion and the suburbs. The rest of the areas are either mostly straight with some curves or relatively small areas.

>and shooting mechanics
Guns were literally just normal weapons that you could press triangle to shoot but it locked you in place. The Dead Souls system is completely different, you can run while shooting and they put you unto a third-person aiming stance if you aim with them which still lets you move around if I remember right. Same deal with grenades. The shooting isn't the same outside of the fact you can get a gun that shoots. Enemies don't even react the same to being shot.

Is yakuza 7 going to be the next dead souls, with 8 being great once it fixes all the kinks

EVERY game run like shit on the PS3.

At certain times it did, but it got a PC version that runs flawlessly.

Nier didn't run...THAT badly on ps3.

Playing it now and after the slow burn start, I have to say I'm really rather enjoying it. It's better than Kiwami 1 for sure but not the others I've played are Y2K & Y0. Can't believe how well it stands up being an early PS3 game.

Kino game

top tier cringe content

It's on other platforms. It's a fucking fantastic game. Their best after Yakuza 0.

Cain is the best.

I'm gonna ignore the cringe and answer you for a second.
3 plays like the Kiryu section of 4 does, just you play only as Kiryu all game.

Osaka is a lot less interesting than Kamurocho, but it's otherwise just as good as the previous entries.
