Just did the April's Fool challenge. Idk what item I got but coins were converting to black hearts and every time I took damage a shitton of coins would drop. So I had max black hearts always and could nuke every room. It's runs like that that make me wish the game could just go endlessly.

Seen a lot of people shit on Afterbirth+. What's wrong with it? I had the original + WotL on Steam and just picked up AB+ on Switch and have been having a blast and actually seem to be winning more often than I did back in the original.

I think that's the point, to make active items that you horde charges for less reliable.
Those flies appear sometimes in item rooms on hardmode it seems (I think they're targeting the D6)

Booster packs fixed a lot of the problems AB+ caused but there's still a lot of item bloat (and the packs added more items too so that didn't help much in that regard).
The packs did add some annoying new enemies like the Lepers (Mulligans that break into pieces when shot, the final piece will always shoot at you on death), Matriarch and Fistuloids (Chubber in a Fistula shell, when destroyed the invincible Chubber flies at you immediately and Matriarch spawns them and Chubbers non-stop).

that's not the nerf, in Repentance devil deals can now have mixed prices (i.e. 2 soul hearts and 1 red heart for an item).

Switch might not get Repentance, but if you are fine with that it's great. There's some slowdown with stages with busy background layers (Burning Basement and the Womb) because Nicalis can't code for shit and there was a garbled text bug introduced with the last patch that they never fixed (only affects fortunes and those don't do anything in actual gameplay).

I never got why Arenas required full HP, but Boss arenas (which are supposed to be harder) require 1 HP.

Every boss arena has an item in them now from what we have seen, seems they are raising the stakes and rewards

Bunch of new items, several enemies, some bug fixes, a new hidden character (who is the most unique one in the game). That's pretty much it until the new expansion hits.

Added a new character, some new enemies, a new boss, a few new items, and that's it. Plus a mirror that lets you change how you look and some bug fixes.

They said that about Afterbirth on the Wii U but still managed to port it over, left it in the American release but never made it officially accessible. Dickheads left it in so with modding it was fully playable.

Nevermind the alleged 3DS update they kept mentioning here and there. If the Switch can manage to run Witcher 3 then there is no excuse for no Repetance.

Oh, and they attempted to make Angel Deals more enticing via raising the odds there actually being fucking items in the room plus adding Trisagion as a new shot type pick-up (basically giant piercing tear waves that do multiple hits when going through enemies) but Devil Deals are still usually the way to go.

Xbone was the original console I bought Isaac on. Still kind of annoyed with it never getting updated but I've moved on to the Switch and PC versions.

Afterbirth is, Afterbirth+ not so much. Complete Rebirth then buy the DLC.

3DS version is a mess, it would have to be almost completely redone to put up with Burning Basement, Hush and Greed mode without slowing to a crawl. I'm sure it could actually be done if there was competent people behind the helm but there isn't.

I got it on Steam then 3DS and Wii U before finally Switch, It narked me how the Wii U PAL version is buggier than the US version. It also blows how they shat on the two platforms, even fully ported Afterbirth to Wii U and never released it.

I think the 3DS update was just some minor bug fixes. There were allegedly talks of some AB items coming over too but not much else was said to my knowledge.

Nicalis are fuckheads. They never gave a reason whey they totally dropped Xbone support and never responded to people asking questions about why AB+ or any other Nicalis games never went to it.
Even if it was due to low sales they could at least have just ported AB+ to finish the game.

They just seem like assholes at this point. I remember when both DLC's launched as buggy, terribly balanced messes with missing content. This DLC seems better but that's only because fans are helping and seem to fucking know hwat would actually improve upon the game.

Depending of the characters speed each run effectively lasts twice as long without a speed up. Fun depends on how fast you beat the game.

Maggy’s purpose is to be a tank. That’s her playstyle. If you want a faster character, then go with anyone else (other than Keeper). The speed up pill just made her feel like Isaac with Yum Heart instead of D6, and I find that boring.

Are you talking about the difficulty spike from glacier to tomb? The devs are kind of addressing that by replacing the easy glacier variants (e.g. snow monstro) with all new bosses, hopefully making it more consistent with tomb's difficulty and quality
