You can consistently respawn mobs in instances, and ou dont have to deal with opposing faction/competition with your faction. Its easy as shit.

The people who got world first Ragnaros weren't seeing it through rose colored goggles. They've been playing vanilla wow on private servers for years and years and years. To them, it's just a game they've been playing for the past 15 years, not some long distant memory. They went in with a tank with no fire resist and he didn't get one shot. They went in with a bunch of level 50-something DPS in greens and blues and killed Ragnaros in one submerge. They aren't complaining about it being dull, they're complaining about it being a casual as shit disgustingly easy and unfaithful experience

As someone who's played on a bunch of private servers myself. Classic WoW just feels like another private server. A shitty one. One with layering and 10 man raid dungeon xp grind exploits to hit 60 fast. "Classic" WoW is the LEAST faithful recreation of vanilla WoW I've ever seen, and it's the official one.

Honestly seems like a common misconception that Method was ever even trying for WF. They wanted a piece of the classic pie for revenue. It's pretty much that and nothing else. They dressed it up as a race to get viewers. But I suspect every Method player was well aware private server players and people who wouldn't sleep would easily get first 60 and first Rag. Seems to me like they fooled a LOT of viewers into thinking they were ever in any "race".

The people who did those things have hardly slept in the past week. The world first level 60 guy hosted another guy's stream on his twitch as soon as he hit 60 and immediately went to sleep. Most people have jobs to worry about and can't dedicate 16+ hours a day to a video game. That said, the levelling is stupidly fast in Classic compared to real vanilla. World first classic 60 in 3 days /played compared to the world record fastest 60 in real vanilla taking nearly 5 days /played.

Says who? The quest takes an organized group maybe an hour or two for enough douses, and it doesn't require level 60 to do. You can enter MC through the BRD entrance at level 50. Almost nobody in the world first raid was level 60.

I have played the auction house game for a long time and I can tell you that I'm gonna ride a mount at lvl 40 and so is my alt. I have helped low levels, met strangers, been in philosophical discussions, tanked dungeons for friends and explored.

This game is fucking awesome and I feel immersed, crossroads is my home. I feel invested to my character and I feel good when I return every quests (except some of them because some of them do suck).

World first was done by a guild of private server autists who were playing 20 hours a day to make it happen.
99.8% of the players are still in barrens and loch modan, by the time most people hit 60, we'll be getting close to phase 2.
Nobody who knows shit about vanilla wow ever argued that it was mechanically complex, especially MC which was a complete joke, which was made even easier by the fact that we are starting off from 1.12 balance.
Absolute top 0.01% guilds like APES are gonna be clearing every raid within hours of its release because thats what they've been doing for the past 10 years on private servers, perfecting their autistic trade.
This doesn't take away from a million qualities of vanilla and the fun that the other 99% of the players are having. Rag being down doesn't mean jack to players outside these top guilds, I'm a part of a guild who were going for the server first race on Gehanass and of course everyone knew Rag would be down with first 5-6 days, this isn't a surprise.

Is there even anyone around to have World PvP with or is it just a Barren Wasteland? I'd hope it would be packed full with players in Hillsbrad, STV, Redridge so there would be huge World PvP fights. Does Layering prevent this? Is so, then by the time they get rid of Layering(If they ever do) everyone will be leveled up far enough to where there won't be any World PvP in these areas. That would be stupid.

I played retail, lots of it.
Retail is better if you want to be a pro raider. It definitely has more mechanically complex and interesting raids and specs in retail are often much more engaging and harder to play optimally.

However, retail as a whole is pretty bad.
I don't like Vanilla as much as I do because it shines in the raids the way retail does. I like it for so many other reasons, from the world pvp to the community to no flying mounts to no 598274 dailies to do etc.pp.

Its not even the same graphics engine on classic wow, combat animations and the combat log are fucked beyond repair, the mob spawning is also fucked but i could be remembering vanilla wrong, the only good thing is the pathfinding of mobs doesnt pull them out of houses, but even mobs seeing through stealth is worse than vanilla
