I got a Gameboy Advance and put in The Minish Cap but it doesn't move past the logo screen? Any ideas on what the problem is?
I got a Gameboy Advance and put in The Minish Cap but it doesn't move past the logo screen...
Have you given your cartridge a blowjob yet?
I don't know. Try blowing on it, that's what my dad use to do to his games.
The cartridge's battery could be dead. Same thing happened to my MC copy, but I was too much of a pussy to open it up and replace it.
try cleaning the disc with toothpaste
ACKCHYUALLY YOU SHOULDN'T BLOW ON CARTRIDGES
pull the board of the cart out and use an normal eraser on the cartridge contacts
(worked for me)
Just pull out the cartridge and put it back in. Sometimes something just doesn't connect right.
Rayman Raving Rabbids works fine so it's the cartridge.
Doesn't The Minish Cap use a flash battery? I'm fucked
Oh shit I had that game, it was so bad.
>3120x4160 picture of a fucking tiny as fuck screen
Did you at least try, OP?
stop being a chode. This one of 5 threads on Yea Forums relevant to the board
you literally shouldn't. What makes cartridges work after blowing is the reinserting the cartridge wich oftens removes dirt from the contacts. Blowing on your cartridges will make the contacts humid, which will cause corrosion.
So you're telling me you didn't try it and your game is still broken?
Games usually boot even if the save battery is broken.
Blow it fag
I'm not OP, I am someone who repairs old consoles and cartridges and resells them as a hobby. If a cartridge doesn't work instantly I don't blow it but pull it out and reinsert it quickly 10 times which does the trick usually, unless there are some real issues with the cartridge.
Got nothing to do with battery. If you can't progress from the logo screen, the cartridge can't be read.
Ever heard of rubbing alcohol?
Sounds like a scam just nlow anx save time
Literally just rub the contacts with isopropyl alcohol. If it gets stuck on the gameboy screen, it probably means the gameboy is having trouble loading the game, it has nothing to do with the save battery, most gba games stopped using batteries for saves anyways
Smash it on the floor
>gba games stopped using batteries for saves
how do they save the games then
Flash memory.
Well I'm speaking to OP, asshole. Not you.
Blow your cartridge, OP. Get that game.
Ever heard of just testing if it works? Of course you clean the contacts with alcohol or with a pencil eraser which is actually better for cleaning contacts since not every type of gunk is solvable by alcohol, once you've repaired the cartridge or confirmed that it's working. I was just saying that there is no need to blow into a cartridge, it's literally the reinserting that does the trick.
You don't save time blowing it, since the blowing does not actually do anything. So when you reinsert it it's the same as if you had pulled it out and reinserted it straight away.
Again not OP, but do you really believe he hasn't tried that before?
>blow on cartridge
>it works
Get the fuck out
>Again not OP
Again, well I'm speaking to OP, asshole. Not you.
Come on, OP, blow that shit and dive in the game head first.
uhh have you tried turning it off and on again
Take out cartridge half way reinsert it, it works just as well without causing corrosion on the contacts of your cartridge and therefore damaging it further.
user. Blowing on the cartridge does nothing. You need to blow on the contacts of the PCB. The cartridge is literally the plastic housing around the PCB. All you keep spamming in this thread is the equivalent of telling someone to eat the candy wrapper instead of the candy. Get your shit together.
You complete dipshit.
post a pic of the minish cap cart.
probably a fake one
Take the case off of the cartridge and check the contacts. If they’re dirty, rub them with some isopropyl alcohol or contact cleaner. If they’re corroded, try using some really high grit sandpaper.
As a corrosion specialist, you are full of shit. Blowing on it, then inserting it, then using it, brings the temperature up high enough to evaporate any moisture so corrosion would not occur from this. On the other hand, blowing on it then sitting it off to the side for months would corrode it, but then again moisture from the environment would be providing most of the moisture needed to corrode it and blowing on it would just be a weak jump start.
This frickin jokester. :DD
Wrong. It worked as a kid and it works now. Stay cucked breathlet
Come on OP, blow that shit up. Hurry, so we could all watch you play that sweet sweet Zelda game.
You are retarded if you think wet contacts can't corrode because the water evaporates.
youtube.com
Any unnecessary humidity will cause corrosion.
Have fun blowing on plastic. But I guess you're used to that already, incel.
quit being a lazy dickhead and resize your photos
That one was a stretch.
>people online want $100 for their fucking gameboy SPs and no local shop has them in stock
I just wanted a fun distraction for when I'm out of town shit
OP isn't going for an easy fix. We can all go home, he's helpless.
Get a phone. Emulate. Have fun.
On a related note, how are gameboy games on the ds lite? and how does the ds lite compare to the sp?
>Any unnecessary humidity will cause corrosion.
Someone that deals with preventing and fixing different types of corrosion on a massive scale for a living surely has no idea how corrosion works. Some guy on youtube with a video must be a matter expert since he's on the internet. Feel free to tell me what types of metals are involved and what type of corrosion we are dealing with.
Pretty similar i'd say but i prefer the size of the sp and the buttons.
huh, might just go that route then since they're so much cheaper. Thanks user
Grab a screwdriver, scrape the inside (metal pins), blow, there you go.
try vinegar with a cotton swab on the contacts.
Look for the AGS-001s specifically if you want to spend less money. People want them less than the AGS-101s because they’re frontlit instead of backlit.
Did you use that cartridge in a NDS before or something? I remember reading a long time ago that the NDS can fuck up the contacts (something about the separation between contacts being different with the gba) and you can't use that cartridge in a gba again. I don't know if that's true or not though.
Just scream at the cartridge until either it gives up or you pass out
Not OP but i have used GBA games in a DS Lite and they still work in my GBA.

>He's too scared to do shit and just posted pictures of the cart
You could let your thread die now.
You're a retard
How hot do you think a Gameboy runs lel
Is this legit or fake?
I can't tell you off hand, but it is over the 200°F needed to evaporate the saliva. Especially when talking about contacts which are going to be much hotter than the circuits.
Here's an example of a fake Minish Cap.
You'll notice the Nintendo logo is slightly smaller, the CE logo is a slightly thinner font, and there aren't any batch numbers stamped onto the sticker. There's a slight fuzziness to the image on your cartridge, but that could be your camera quality. Does it look blurry in real life? Does it feel like a GBA game sticker?
the cartridge battery only keeps the save. it has naught to do with reading issues. just use a substance that can clean the contacts. special alcohol for electronics
>Gameboy cartridges heat up to 200 degrees during gameplay
This fucking board
So are you, retarded coward
If the Nintendo logo doesn't come up, it can't read the cardridge. Try cleaning up the pins. It shouldn't be a battery issue tho, if that was the case it would come up later.
es el fake
There's no Nintendo logo at the boot screen. What does this mean?
It means the gba doesn't read a cart, check the pins in your cart, they might be fucked.
Does it mean it's a fake cart?
No, any damaged cart could end up like that.
>he doesn't know how metal contacts in electronics work
This fucking board
kek
the fuck?
i got my hands on 1 for 40 bucks like 5 years ago
is it the region you're in or what?
Just emulate.
>when you're full of shit but user has no balls
>when you're full of shit
Look up API 571. That should give you some insight into what I do for a living.
Take a qtip and some rubbing alcohol and run it on the inside of the contacts. Your cart looks fake so not much loss.
Think about investing in an ezflash IV
It's not passing the licensing check. Can you show a pic of cartridge pins? They might need cleaning
Shut u, wage cuck.
Tell me a cool way to fix a common type of corrosion that I might run into in my life
