Classes shouldn't be necessary -- you should be able to build "classes" via obtaining complementary skills.

That said, the thing that really gets my goat is that it seems like this is really just becoming a first person action game with occasional dialog choices. The story is linear, there's no point to customization, you can't choose how you experience the city (seedy underbelly only, can't be an elite or anything,) there will be literal body modifications you can't get that NPCs can, in spite of not having to properly model them since everything's in third person.

I dunno, the game's clearly not what they intended. I get the PR spin they're doing but it come off as scummy.

Do you guys not know the first thing about gamedev? Stop and think what games feature both perspectives, either games with terrible gameplay and feel like Skyrim or ones that are extremely simple to play like a militar shooter.
CP77 has shown whips, melee, climbing walls, very tight spaces, a great deal of verticality and tons of things to interact through the whole vertical axis. If the game released with third person perspective as an option, even if it was polished you guys would complain because from the ground up this game is First Person through and through.

Coding a camera, even in first person, it's hard as hell and requires hours of fine tuning to get the feel right, when you don't care enough for it you get Dark Souls. Third Person works in extremely linear games that barely have verticality and have open spaces, and even then there has to be a guy hired to make the camera "cinematic" at times, that would be absolute cancer to make in any game that wants to give you any degree of freedom.

They're still going to let you see your chracter because they already have an armor/clothing system and have probably already modeled and fitted hundreds of clothing items for the character models. They're not going to arbitrarily remove that hard work and not let you see your characters clothes

Sort of. For example, Hitman 2 doesn't render your exact reflection in the mirror. Sometimes your hat or weapon doesn't appear. It's an approximate estimation of your appearance. Pedestrians have nooooowhere near as much detail as Agent 47. He uses about 30x as much resources to render than a pedestrian. Which is why they don't try to mirror him exactly in the bathroom mirrors and such.

Same applies here. The people all along the street use a fraction of the resources in rendering that a customization main character does, and devs are known to take shortcuts to make TPP work. It's not that they're being lazy. It just has to be done for performance reasons.

The moment you hit deadline the fat gets trimmed to finish the product, anything that is not getting finished in time is scrapped. It's that simple. I will play this game as a blond, corpo tranny.

The graphics are legitimately fucking garbage, last gen -tier. Many textures lack serious detail and just look washed out, the lighting in many scenes is simplistic as fuck, there's ugly LOD fog everywhere even inside buildings and character models are way worse compared to Witcher 3. This is the cost of "seamless" dialogue transitions (they can no longer swap in higher quality assets for characters during dialogues, like they did in Witcher 3) and having fast vehicles in your game, you have to downgrade the shit out of your game so the garbage consoles with their tablet components can keep up. Then the PC version gets some Nvidia Goyimworks bells and whistles to balloon the system requirements while at the same time barely looking any better than the console versions due to muh parity.

Oh and the deep dive video was on a 2080ti with RTX shit enabled, so it was a best case scenario. Good luck with a mid-range GPU.

The point was not all FPS are created equal. It's not as simple as zooming a camera in. GTA5's entire atmosphere is built around 3rd person which makes it awkward to play in 1st person. All the UI elements, movements, and even lighting are based on the idea that the camera is 10 feet above your head. It was fucking terrible.

Counter-Strike in fact has a plot. It is a conflict between two forces. There are hostages to be saved and bombs to be defused. Its is pretty much a distilled version of Speed but without the bus sequence and with real people as actors.
Garry's Mod is not really a game it is a construction tool more akin to a toy construction set. You can play games of your own design with it that you've infused with your inner plot but by itself it has no plot and is not a game.
