ITT: post the last time you had a fucking blast with a game

Pic related, I have had almost no desire to play games in the last three months but I thought I might enjoy a good 2D game so I bought it on a whim. Six hours later, I'm making this thread.

and I mean this unironically

Played this for the first time recently after years of avoiding it and I'm blown away by how well it holds up
One of the only games that lives up to its reputation

I don't really remember. Most games are disappointing these days. About to move on to tinkering with cars or something and ditch this shit.

Did this game prove you can get away with stealing others content? The answer is yes.

Cry me a river

>I have had almost no desire to play games in the last three months
Yeah that's pretty normal. Overwhelming majority of people (even core gamers) don't actually play their games fully or even complete them. It's actually so funny how people act like they play games yet 90% of people only play them for an hour or two, and only like 1-2% play for more than 5-10 hours.

Bayonetta 2

Started a new game of BotW on my switch after playing a bunch on CEMU a year or two ago and dropping it. It's still so good.
It really is fantastic how good it is 14 years later. You can't say that about a lot of games that came out around that time. I played it on my gamecube right around the time it was released and all the little details blew me away. Man, I'm definitely replaying it this coming October.

This game would be a lot better without the Ashley segments and anyone who likes them is lying

>he doesn't like the creepy standalone Ashley segment where she gets down on her hands and knees and sticks her butt in your face.

No thanks i rather have luis's musky spainard butthole on my face , now theres some ballistics

Mine was Rain World. What makes the "2D indie with expresionless plain white main character with white dots as eyes" mini-genre so good? Every single one I tried I had a blast, even the small, arcade ones like Downwell and Gato Roboto

Playing Rust in 2016 is definitely my highlight of a decade. Sucks they ruined it with all the updates. Had so much fun with it.
Never had a 'blast' with single player games. Sure some of them are pretty fun but not to the point of playing them for 30+ hours.

You don't need a colorful protagonist to enjoy life.

I guess the less time they're spending on the art the more they had to spend on the quality of the gameplay and level design?

DQ XI's demo
Can't buy any game yet and I am trying out demos. If my childhood senses won't come clear I am getting the full DQ XI.

I'm really looking forward to when silksong comes out and there are constant threads of actual vidya discussion.

rust gets a lot of shit but playing that with a few close friends was genuinely some of the most fun i've had with vidya.
last game i got super into was environmental station alpha.definitely my favourite metroidlike
