THE NEWEST FIRE EMBLEM IS THE GREATEST ONE IN THE FRANCHISE AND HAS THE BEST STORY AND GAMEPLAY ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE IS BEING CONTRARIAN.

Dun care
'ate fire emblem in smash
Simple as

But it only has two characters.

I haven't played FE series but Three Houses seems like a perfect entry point

Three Houses is a weak entry designed to appeal to casuals and Switch secondaries with its mindless maps, lack of difficulty, and bland artstyle. Anyone who says otherwise has questionable taste and/or wasn't much of a FE fan to begin with.

Fire Emblem is a hit and miss series and has always been, and 3 Houses is the best FE game in the last decade.

Fire Emblem was never this hardcore ultra anti casual series the elitist fans love to paint as.
each day the series get more mainstream a d that makes the oldschool fans seethe and I love seeing it

How quickly we forget that Conquest exists.

Nah, I’d start with Awakening as best entry point for the modern series.

Granted the games are different enough you probably don’t lose much doing so

Ike’s games nearly killed the series. Cope faggot

I don't have a switch so I can't play it

:(

Shadow Dragon almost killed the series in the west.

You aren't missing much. Might be better off waiting for Lunatic mode (even though that didn't help Birthright or Revelations).

>best story
sure if you insist, but still piss among turds
>best gameplay
no, I'd be the worst gameplay in the series if Echoes didn't exist

And also the best tomboy.

If you can't reply with anything else than muh Jeralt then don't reply at all.

Watch Claude's let's play,

I dunno man, it was good, but near the end of the game I was really sick of the monastery and class. I just switched everything to automatic to hurry it up.

No, sweetie. 3H's storyline is only held up by its character dynamics but is extremely shaky otherwise.

Conquest still has the best gameplay, best maps, and arguably some of the best art in the series.

I legit don't care about FE and don't know what this girl even does and what her personality is but she's hella cute and i love seeing her for some reason, she's the only reason i will probably play her game later on
Hole she's a villain who i can join

>Hope she's a villain who i can join
Right I’m sure you had no idea about this character.
Why pretend to be ignorant? You obviously already know.

I will agree with you on Camilla nee-san being the best FE girl ever, but that's where i draw the line.

>as he posts Ike

Dont let Randy slide this.

Other FE games were more strategic. Three Houses feels like number bashing. Was hoping they’d jump gameplay into the future and try out some XCOM or even FFT mechanics (overwatch, terrain playing a bigger role) but nah. It’s still an ok game though. Won’t go back through on NG+ though.

I really like the gameplay foundation of 3H, it just needs to get weird and gimmicky with the map and enemy design
Gronder hill is a solid example but we need more weirdness

This but unironically.

>takes 3DS-era renaissance Fire Emblem mechanics and focus on character customization and development and pushes it to its greatest extent, maintaining character niches while also allowing for versatility and flexibility
>maps are smaller and everything is balanced for lower movement, allowing for interesting engagements rather than devolving into a long dryhumping human centipede winding through a linear hallway on the way to the boss
>magic has an exponential growth system allowing for magic-inclined units to pick up skill momentum and become powerful low maintenance units
>inversely, bow users get access to close counter to not be useless during enemy phase, while also getting skills to expand their range and utility
>bosses' shield and multiple health bars(and getting more skills with subsequent health bars) create more interesting strategies than just hurling your most durable shit at damage sponges
>story avoids conceit of golden ending, actually does the Fates concept of multiple sympathetic factions well without fundamentally undermining them, and giving you multiple interesting perspectives (or at least whatever isn't incestuously recycled in the non-Crimson Flower routes)
>no FE4 "yeah there's a lot of shit going on but it's just that cult you keep seeing behind this" shit, everybody actually has coherent, non-arbitrary motives and agency and the plot equivalent of "evil cult," the Slithers and the Church, constantly have tabs kept on them and aren't just used for the sake of plot convenience
>very rarely indulges in "racism is bad" as a character dynamic crutch and focuses more on the ramifications of a setting where power de jure is distributed by a genetic dice roll from a blood transfusion made centuries ago
>holy shit this setting is really well developed, talking about festivals and holidays and important historical battles and not just resigning things to a random timeline scroll in the intro

Seriously, they did good.

There are absolutely reasons to dislike it. Yet again it's another micromanagement heavy FE game, that lacks real challenge.

I'm sure it's fun, don't get me wrong. I'm not buying an FE with forced Persona gameplay though.

I'm fucking sick of every goddamn Japanese RPG taking place in a school.

The holidays should have switched up the monastery like Bully.

>boring filler between story missions
>hardest difficulty the game shipped with is still piss easy unless you intentionally gimp yourself
>maps are basic as fuck
There hasn’t been a moment yet where you had to consider placing units optimally to ensure a knight would receive a damage mitigation buff from Flayn while being properly rallied with speed to just barely avoid being 2x hit from the enemy. If there is a redeeming part it better be the story or other worthless shit because the gameplay ain’t it

why is his shirt so small? looks stupid
cant he afford clothes that fit?

Chrom is poor despite being royalty. That's why he relies on a sword that can't break, lives in the woods with his bros under the pretense of being an army, and eats wild animals that he hunts and unpeeled oranges.

Greatest one is debatable, but I'd definitely put it in the top 3. It deserves all the praise it gets, and if I see someone saying it's their favorite, I don't feel compelled to call them dumb, like I do with 8, 13 and 14.

>Echoes bad!!
Imagine being this much of a brainlet

>Three Houses seems like a perfect entry point
Thought about this too, but people insist on recommending Awakening or FE7. Isn't TH accessible enough?

SoV sucks, jackass. It is reliant entirely on presentation.

its telling how fucked this series is when people tout the monastery exploration as a highlight

All three of those are fine, to be quite honest. But obviously, if you want to get into the series as a whole, don't expect 3rd person school exploration. And to be honest, 3H is a bit more complex than the others, with all its new progression systems. Both FE7 and Awakening were made to accommodate people new to the series.

Its accessible just not as good

Way too much persona shit
terribly balanced
incredibly bland and boring maps
way too easy
Classes system is garbage
horrible graphics

good music
dimitris story is alright
lore and worldbuilding is good
substantial amount of well written characters

7/10, somewhere in the upper half of FEs.
