Overall I'd say Velkhana is an enjoyable fight with other people, you can practically do whatever you want to it due to how ridiculous the Clutch Claw spam is. But the overly strict time limit sucks all the fun out of the fight, it makes it more frustrating than anything. Gotta weed out the casuals I guess.

Tri Ultimate is Tri with Portable 3rd's roster and some extra monsters that weren't in either such as Plesioth which you can chase underwater making it the best version to fight that monster. Be wary that the localized version has A) a glitch that permanently locks you into a charm table and it can't be undone and B) by default you have 50 defense unarmored. Honestly just treat the game like Portable 3rd with a G Rank and you'll do just fine. Though swimming will take getting used to as not all weapons are underwater friendly.

Glitch is unavoidable, the game has a few charm tables, the intent was for the game to cicle between tables everytime you booted up the game, but as it is, whatever charm you get when you start your save is the charm table you're stuck with. It may lock you out of certain build but unless you're planning on going full TAutist tryhard, it's nothing worth fretting over

T2 Tempereds are better for decorations since they're faster to kill (except Tempered Nerg)

I’d definitely make the standing shield bash combo stronger in some way so that players don’t avoid it like the plague. Or only use it to top off a KO proc after they’ve already unga bunga’d the head a dozen times.

Like, Im thinking either make the animation “better” somehow so its easier to land, and or, buff the damage of the first two hits.

Another thing you could do is make it so players can replace the last hit if the slash combo with the third shield bash, which obviously has the most damage and range.

Anjanath is a good hunt and I'm happy he is in the series. He is much better than many classic monsters and his place as a gatekeeper into the "2nd tier" of monsters is solid and I think he fits that role well FUCK YOU

From what I've seen the wyrmstake blast is ridiculous damage.

Great for normal and slapstick. The deployable wyvern thing lets you ramp up ridiculous damage on the monster with the beta weapon as long as you keep fullbursting it and slaping the monster's weakspots.
I can't use normal at all though, slow ass shit. I'm hyped for heavy wide and long shots on clutch claws and the new wyvernstake.

HH is phenomenal, only held back by having a negative affinity weapon in the demo. Hammer feels the same except now you can L2 after a super pound to zoom onto a monster's face and build up a chunk of stun.

1 week old MH player here. How likely is it that we will see more expansion sized DLCs for MHW? And how likely is it that we will get to see more water monsters? I'm enjoying MHW enough that I'm considering going through the previous games but I sure wish I could fight some deep water shit in this entry

Hammer has not changed, though kos are easier to come by. I haven't figured out the clutch claw super well, but it's a little hard to take advantage of since a strong breeze can knock you off the monster. you'll have to wait for a HHfriend to come by and explain the differences for that tho.

Iceborne is confirmed the last expansion. Emulate 3U if you want underwater fights, or get GU if you want to experience most of the older monsters. Otherwise, just wait for the inevitable World 2.

It's always been my favorite weapon but it felt awful to play in World to me, especially since spamming the unga smash technique was optimal play. Even i didn't know about the yoyo follow up until i ran across this.

We have 2 monsters so far that are confirmed. Coral Pukei, who uses his tail like a fire hose and sprays water in wide sweeps while causing waterblight. Namielle, a water elder dragon with a fucking amazing deep sea creature design. There's been maybe a grand total of 10 seconds of Namielle gameplay, but it looks like it'll create waves from the moisture in the air and use that to push/pull you into range of its attacks.

Perfect rush only seems like a buff to status and maybe raw weapons. It hits really fucking hard while being more accurate than falling bash spam, but ele sns will still use the old slash combos.

I really like the echo note, it has good damage and looks stylish, the impact song is a nice burst of damage, also the sounds when the echo note hits are satisfying.

I feel like clutch claw is like spamming jumps as glaive: it's fun and sometimes you'll do something cool, but spamming it hurts you more than helps, both getting hit and dragging on the fight.
that said, I like using lance's claw counter

Horn is generally faster with normals and the neutral performance, the echo wave attack is pretty strong and can be cancelled with a roll, echo wave songs are big damage

Clutch Claw is extremely strong on Swaxe due to easy ZSDs, it's okay for evading and enhancing weakpoints on everything else

I think Gunlance only has a guardpoint on the new wyvernstake thing. Essentially its there when you are loading the blast which is now fast as hell.
If you want a weapon with a shit ton of guardpoints, CB is that weapon.

I'd love to see a large chunk gen 1 and 2 monsters getting the World treatment. Just because a monster was bad in the past, doesn't mean it has to stay that way.
