Men form groups to push games by either competing, speedrunning, modding, etc. and have discussions over game design and writing, programming, music, etc. All these things interest men to the point of building communities to share there knowledge and passion for all aspects of what games are.
Unironically these things are too complicated for woman and are unappealing to them because it doesn't garnish them immediate attention, and why so many girls think being female who plays game is an accompishment of its own. It's why so many girls are in book clubs because they don't need to be challenged or have creative input, they just digest what other girls are talking about.

There is always, without exception, some ulterior motive. They pretend to like video games either for attention or sex. Every single female I have ever met in a gaming community eventually threw a tantrum like a child over not being treated like a special princess (this is the rarer option) or slutted the fuck out.
I went on some random discord server that was being spam advertised on an MMO I play once and started talking shit. After the admin kicked me the sole female there started flirting with me in DMs.
