Hard question to answer desu. As a playtester, I dont simply play a game start to finish over and over. Instead, we're told to specifically try and exploit or ensure a certain mechanic works properly. This can include hours of really tedious repeated actions. Last time I played it start to finish, it was a while back. But to try and answer the question, I'd say a normal person can expect it to be around 14 hours. ~11 if you dont give a shit about the extras. Up to 18 if you do

Probs around 9-10 boss battles if you include different forms of the bosses. They really did a better job with the bosses this time around, and the titan battle is pretty epic I'll say. Overall, about twice the amount of enemy types. More varieties that force you to keep your movement pattern constantly changing, and not just in a cardinal direction kind of deal. Verticality is important here, especially on the harder difficulties. If you dont immediately play it on the hardest difficulty, youre doing it wrong imo

Oh god, the OST is my favorite part ngl. Part of my testing at one point was to ensure musical cues happen in the right spots and dont fuck up. Never got tired of it desu. Ive been playtesting for a pretty long time, so I have experience doing pretty much everything. More recently, Ive been grinding the multiplayer component for D:E and giving feedback and reports to the developers. I know a fair amount of them, so I can get placed on a different aspect of testing if I really want to. We try to mix things up every once in a while to ensure we dont get too fatigued

As far as I'm aware, they purposefully have the demons stand down when youre in an uninterruptible animation. Reason being is it would be super cheap to have yourself die when trying to glory kill. The length of animation and rewards for doing it are all taken into account. Same philosophy was in D2016; demons would to some degree refrain from attacking when youre in an animation or have your back turned to them. On higher difficulties, the interval at which they attack and their inhibition when youre not focused on them is decreased

More variety for sure. The orange mars/industrial district look to D2016 was pretty tired. More of sequel to me, theres enough different to call it a different game. Plasma rifle feels more chunky to shoot, so I call it an upgrade. Its just for cooler animations/glory kills. Theres some retro missions but no sprites that Ive seen. Didnt play that many tho

I tried the demo right when that was made available, and was getting a rock-solid 30fps on absolute minimum settings. I tried it again when I upgraded my video card about a year ago and was able to run max settings at 60fps. It's literally Doom Eternal's director's first and favorite Doom game. The lore in Doom 2016 specifically mentions the Blood Keep trap from Doom 64.

Do you like the enemy designs? I don't really like many of the redesigs, mostly the zombie marines. I know it's fun to nod to classic doom but it just looks stupid with their haircut.

They could have mimicked their older gameplay and make them subclasses to the 2016 demons
