How is that autistic?

That's not autistic on PC
It's kinda autistic on console, usually no reason to go to options on console games, if they even have it.

>start RPG
>immediately look online for an optimized build
I don't need to minmax, but I'm paranoid of fucking myself over 20 hours in.

>immediately look online for an optimized build
are there any games that actually lock you into a build anymore? seems like most have some way of resetting them.

But I NEED my subtitles to be ON and this fucking rumble "feature" to be OFF!!!

Attached: 1cb.gif (342x342, 436K)

Not these days, but I mostly play older games.

I was really skirting by the skin of my teeth by neglecting weapon skills in Gothic 2 for a spell.

This. I turn subtitles on by default because games rarely have a sound test to see if dialogue is still quiet even after maxing everything.
Besides that, it is a must if you are playing a game with dual audio

>Spend 50 minutes in a character creator
>Drop game after 30 minutes of playing
Monster Hunter World and Red Dead Online

>Turn every voice off in every Visual Novel

>Make spreadsheets for games to help with optional objections (Social Links in Persona/Three Houses)

>Put 100+ hours into Fortnite

Me but I google fucking everything. I don't have time to savescum 10 hours back because choosing to do X resulted in someone dying and now I've missed out on content.

>spend two hours in character creator
>character looks like garbage in-game
Dragon's Dogma

>start new game
>immediately go to options/settings
But that's what normal people do.
>turn on subtitles if they are off (English is not my native language and sometimes I have hard time understanding what people said if the subtitles are off)
>change VA to english if it's set on jap
>invert vertical camera

>looking up how to play the game the perfect way
>absolutely no fun experimenting with game choices
Truly you both are autistic, perhaps even zoomers.

Every single character I made in Bloodborne.
The ingame lighting is so different to the character creator lighting that you end up launching and abandoning the game several times before you know it fucking works.

Is that ms paint on the date?

Oh man I did that too, l Iike Sports so I made a uniform for your one custom team in MLB The Show. Absolutely ruined it shit was disgusting and there's no option to reset to a default and couldn't figure out how to fix it. Dropped the game cause of that shit.

>game defaults to full volume for every slider
>game starts with some bombastic music or intro cinematic
>i can actually feel my subwoofer pushing air

Attached: 1563369568096.jpg (480x360, 11K)

Sorry I don't want my ears blasted by sound effects, my eyes strained by motion blur, or my pc auto-configuring into ultramax settings.

It's not fun to replay the same stretch of game with some minor skill differences so you're actually viable for endgame, no.

>autism thread
>nobody's sperging out over everything wrong with that image as I am

Fuck all of you, cater to my needs RIGHT NOW

Attached: 1554693515571.png (424x405, 197K)

I don't have fun by fucking my game up and wanting/having to restart.

>no reason to turn subtitles on and make sure autistic pc settings like motion blur and depth of field are turned off

Oh yeah? Name ten problems with OP's image.

I typically go straight to options for subtitles.

>mobile screenshot
>edited date
>normie meme instead of filename
It looks intentionally horrible.

>>normie
die teen

Only subnormies get offended by the word normie.

Finished gothic 2 playthrough as a mage using mostly spells. Your comment Is invalid.

Well evidently I wasn't playing as a mage. It was an example of me making a game harder for myself by neglecting certain skills, and wasn't a criticism against the game itself.

Everyone's gotta chime in with their snide little "gotcha" comment.

>start new game
>immediately turn off motion blur/DoF effects
>immediately turn off subs
>immediately ramp up mouse sensitivity

>turn off subs
What the FUCK is your problem?

I recently started to emulate PS2 and i can't fucking believe how many games have the camera control inverted by default, this shit is nonsense

Not that user, but sometimes subs can take away the impact of a line delivery. In Portal 2, for example, the text shows up as a whole paragraph, and gives away jokes or interruptions since by the time I've read the text, the line isn't halfway through.

>start game, watch intro movie
>options > audio > adjust volume
>options > check for options to disable as many hud elements as possible or fade them out when not in use if possible
>look for keybind that disables hud entirely for screenshots or check the internet for command to do so and bind it in the game's config files
>options > graphics > turn motion blur, vignetting, grain/noise, color separation effects off
>options > controls > bind buttons to how i like them or check controller map (depending on game)
>set difficulty to hard as possible, if hard is unavailable exit game and look for workaround to enable hard from the start
>exit game
>set command line variable to disable intro movies, or delete them entirely
>start game and play

Attached: 1559087602300.jpg (1600x1200, 76K)

You understand English don't you? You have working ears right? Why the fuck do you need to read what they're saying? Do you have brain problems?

I also do this, but I do it because I always disable music.
Music in games is too often used like laugh track, not as an extension of gameplay but rather as a way of emotional manipulation.

>change VA to english if it's set on jap
why would you do this

>load new game
>go to Options
>subtitles: ON

Attached: eyin94yksfh31.jpg (640x952, 42K)

Game is Zelda, but onomatopoeias are from Mario.

>sportsfag is literally retarded
Imagine my shock

>turn that shit down ingame
>said settings only takes effect after the "press start" bullshit
>it plays a loud as fuck noise as you do
>it crashes wen you alt+f4 to solve it with the windows audio shit

FUCK DS3 and FUCK MG:R for this so. hard.

Attached: 1531534268639.png (295x360, 161K)

>immediately ramp up mouse sensitivity
Holy shit do you have baby arms or something?
The default sensitivity is always something retarded that lets me make 2 360s with one flick.

Attached: 1488081972607.jpg (850x565, 97K)

>it crashes wen you alt+f4
I think you mean alt+tab

>pc settings like motion blur
Motion blur literally leaped into modern gaming as a means to hide shitty framerates on console. Lurk moar.

>Turn on subtitles
>Crank up those settings
>New game loads and I alt tab for some reason
>Turn off light
>Get rid of distractions
>Randomly press Caps lock all the time

My experience is the complete opposite, every game default requires you to frantically swipe the mouse to turn. Although I do have baby arms

Because I don't speak Japanese and playing games in language I'm not familiar with it just weird for me. This applies only to games! I have no problems with foreign movies, for example. Just games.
Also, many of the female characters in JAP VA sound like they're 8.

>character phrases something oddly
>think about a better way to phrase it and say revised statement aloud before proceeding to next dialog

Attached: Harrisonford.jpg (495x628, 149K)

Seyuus who sound younger than intended > Old hags voicing high schoolers and turning every character into a valley accent banshee

If I'm in an area where it would be inappropriate to run, I hold shift to walk. I also politely close doors and shut off lights in games that let me do so

How big is your mousepad?

>english subtitles on
>voices to japanese
>invert Y

>beat game
>go on youtube and search "game speedrun wr"

I personally find this attitude bizarre for someone who is not a native english speaker. Dubs are rarely good, in any media.

I was about to tell you to fuck off, but tell me this.
Do you tell your friends about speedrun strats if they're playing the same game?

Nope. I never speed ran myself but I did recently use some strats to get around annoying segments of a game.

Alright you're good. I have an annoying friend that constantly talks about speedrun strats instead of actually learning the game

Why do redditors feel the need to put that stupid ass text at the bottom as if we don't know?

I do this too.

B A SE D
A
S
E
D

Speedruns are not interesting if actually want to play game.

Hm. How about this, then?
It's easier for me to ''follow'' the conversation in the game when I listen to characters and read text at the same time, especially if I know a word or two. (I do have soem basic English understanding)
Reading English text and listening to unfamiliar language at the same time... it's not easy to follow.

I do that. For everything, actually.

>beat game
>spend the next few hours browsing through game's wikia, mostly reading about weapons and enemies
At least I have fun learning new things about the game.

>Goes straight into options
>Fucking BUTCHERS the game's graphics and slowly increases textures and adds shit like lighting quality and post processing effects to a point where the game looks good and still runs a smooth 60fps.

I do this for every new game I play because I don't know what the game's optimization is like and I am autistic for muh silky smooth framerates.
**It's also for that reason that I'm never getting a Switch**

Attached: 1566751193101.jpg (558x737, 97K)

>buy game
>immediately look at achievement list
I have a compulsion to get every achievement available and I don't know why.

Attached: 1485464696484.jpg (640x853, 104K)

Finally someone else does this. I do this for movies and TV shows as well, have a quick read about the production etc

Speedruns are useful if you want to beat the game with better rank for, I don't know, achievement or trophy. Yes, watching the speedrun for the sole purpose of obtaining trophy can be considered at some form of cheating, but you can say the same for, I don't knwo, looking at FAQ when you're stuck in the game. But then, there's shit like:
>see Dark Souls 2 speedrun
>less than 15 mins
>what the fuck??
>guy abuses glitches and bugs
Yeah... no.

I talk to myself and my party members while I play.

>Watch an Armored Core 2 run
>Literally 12 minutes of aborting missions
Speedrunning is the most pathetic fucking bullshit. If they're that dedicated put it towards a real game like Ketsui or something

dumb whores

That shit is an instagram/complete fucking normie meme site feature and you see shit like links to people's social medias and steam accounts.
It's honestly worse than ifunny tags.
It's a good way of seeing who gets their memes from fucking GOOGLE IMAGES

Is that where that text font comes from? I legit though it was just people making that shit up in paint to "caption" something

Attached: FB_IMG_1540270875188.jpg (409x424, 22K)

How do you even know which is standard and which isn't since it changes with every game?

literally never does but okay.

>Play game in one series
>standard is right stick up = camera points up
>play a different series
>standard is right stick up = camera points down

Lets not pretend most weeaboos are nuanced enough to tell good JPN VAs from shit ones. The reason most weebs prefer subs is because they can tell when the ENG VA sucks but dont have to consciously think about JPN VAs when most weebs dont understand them in the first place.

Lmao I do this too haha witcher 3 best run Cuz o dis

Any other autists get into series paralysis? I want to play some games but I feel like a raging poser if I don't play the entire series

not him, but it's generally third person games that use inverted standard.
FPS are always just up goes up these days.

Fair, but at the same time this is also about any vidya so playing older stuff you don't necessarily know which will be which until you play.

That's not autistic. You should always check that stuff because some games have terrible default settings, especially console ports.

same
I don't even get a game with online trophies if they take too much time or if the online is dead

>get to any sort of decision in the game
>have urge to read up on it
>spend hours branching out learning everything about the game
>beat the game in less time than the research took

I stopped withcer 2 at the split between the scoiatel and other dude because of this, and i have to force myself to try new games instead of replaying already known ones nowdays. it sucks.

kinda. haven't played system shock 2, or DMC4 from the top of my head because of this

Yeah, like this with most series. Try to make an honest effort to get to all of them. Pretty satisfying when you know a series inside and out.

Disgaea?

>Download a game
>plays it for an hour
>wow this game is awesome
>quits and never plays it again
>rinse and repeat every day

>something cringy happens in game/movie
>have to pause and physically stand up and walk around the house for half an hour while punching the air
>sometimes have to scream too
>parents think I'm autistic

>Have games.
>Want to play them.
>Don't want to close programs in background because it's a pain in the ass to get them back up the way I want them again.
>Need about 5-6+ GB of RAM space open to play those games without issue.
>Usually running 10+ out of 16GB of RAM, and the last GB or so is useless as the system gets crashy if I push it anyway.
To everyone I believed who said "16GB is MORE than enough", clearly don't use their rigs for much.

>the game does not let you go to the options until you start the game
>the game does not let you go to the options until you create a character
>the game does not let you go to the options until you finish the tutorial
>the game also starts with retarded settings that make it nearly unplayable until you fix them

usually when people say that they mean for gaming
this is why you go to /g/ and ask a simple question such as "im going to be using my computer for x and y at the same time, how much ram do i need?" if you really need that much help

Fucking. This.
It's painful enough that sometimes I just search out complete saves and never look back.
Sometimes there's the silver lining that sometimes the options exist in a .ini fine that you can edit manually before the game even starts up, alleviating being forced to play the game with the settings being wrong.

The annoying part is consistently the issue is it's the web browser eating up multiple GB of RAM because it has images and stuff cached that I can't manually purge every once in a while without entirely closing the program, which is a ordeal to get back up and running because I have to log into everything again (I don't let it save logins, because that's retarded for security), and find tabs I didn't have bookmarked, not to mention there's genuinely about a GB or so of space that has to reload, nearly all at once for the tabs I do have bookmarked. If it wasn't for that, I'd have a decent amount of space to play games in easy.
Next thing I'm doing for my rig is shoving another 16GB of RAM in it.

>start new game
>go to brightness setting
>"Hey fuck you pal, its not our games fault you can see shit. Adjust your TV's brightness yourself"
The Wii pissed me off with this shit.

Subtitles and text speed, bro.

why did he rewrite the date over in paint?

>play rpg
>immideately look up builds that look interesting
>follow them religiously
>later realize I accidently put a stat point into the wrong stat
>no respec available
>don't feel like keeping playing anymore even though I know it wouldn't matter at all in the long run
>alternatively, the online guide is only a baseline and you should build the rest yourself
>constantly stress out that I'm not picking the best possible synergistic skills even though I'm still stomping the game
>waste more time researching than playing
>drop the game half way through

It's not homer simpson

>beat game
>create wiki style notes in OneNote
>research and note down everything there is to learn about the game, boss tactics, drop chances, hidden mechanics and formulas
>when i feel like i've run out of things to research go to wiki and compare my findings with that of the other fans'
usually i find something they've overlooked and i've overlooked what they knew about very well

Attached: 1567239745565.jpg (480x360, 56K)

Kinda, it happens when I know a certain game is full of QoL improvements over the last one.

Like, recently I want to play DQ builders 2.
I feel the need to play DQ builders 1 first because I feel that, if I play 2 first, I’ll be too used to the improvements and end up hating 1 when I get to it.

I do this if the game doesn't have a reroll system

I usually skip the character creator in games, I hate fucking with sliders and just want to play

A lot of games have fucked sound balancing that can't be fixed through sliders

When I start new game, I always regulate volume first. I'm so autistic lol

I literally cannot bring myself to kill friendly NPCs. I get very sad over it and I have a few games where I'm missing completion over it.

Depends on the game.

WHAT THE FUCK SORT OF PARTY WAS MUSIC THAT GETS DOWNED OUT BY TINY SWITCH SPEAKERS

>walk mapped to shift
>sprint unmapped
>crouch is ctrl for toggle
>crouch is c for hold
>inventory button is i
>scope/ironsights is middle mouse button
>vsync by default
>motion blur on high
>FOV

>20 hours in
>start to hate how your custom character looks
>no way to change it

Attached: 1561550114828.jpg (550x733, 241K)

English is my fifth language and I don't consider myself good at it, plus game dialogue is usually pretty braindead and terribly acted so I don't pay much attention it, I just glance at the subs whenever a new line appears

I already finished the main story for Dragon's Dogma when I found out that your chosen vocation affects stat growth. I know it only really matters for speedrunning but it still triggers the fuck out of me

I hate games where you can't access the options before starting the game.
Bonus if it has unskippable cutscenes.
Extra bonus if it needs to restart after the changes and the logos from the dev(s) are also unskippable.

This pisses me off, there's no excuse for not letting you change your custom character in a game I'm stuck with the default palico skin

Attached: 15352.jpg (653x353, 98K)

What is so wrong about that? First thing I do is to see in options if there is a subtitle option. After that I go to the graphic settings

>while running in game notice myself pretending to huff and puff like I'm actually running
>if running from something in game almost always say outloud, "oh shit oh shit!"

Attached: e8e0a61c9e4e7da5cf5bd1fb07cf4058.jpg (500x500, 32K)

Theres nothing wrong with this, no different to starting at your phone

Does changing the camera to inverted X and Y count as autism? It only applies if I'm using a controller though, not mouse and keyboard.

>Finish a game and loved it
>Look at the archives and see what Yea Forums thinks of it
>it's unanimously hated
>Also start to hate it

Someone usually just perfects the formula and i go off of that

spin analog sticks on loading screens becuse I think it loads the game quicker

borderless windowed

I blow into my analog sticks because I'm scared of them drifting ever since my PS3 controller started drifting irreparably one day.

I almost always stop when my character sounds winded even in games with infinite stamina

Camera settings for me. I'm weird and I need my vertical inverted if the game is in third person.

So I guess that's my answer for OP. I can't play third person games without inverting the vertical camera control.

>normie
>meme that brings up /pol/ outta nowhere
You and OP are both faggots, bend down and suck my nuts.

>yeah? why dont you turn down sucking so much dicks veronica?

>so much dicks
>much not many
I'd say ESL but this is more like that fat Samoan kid who only knows like 4 words of Samoan and they're all vulgar and he has no excuse for not knowing basic English.

that's the joke
