ITT: Guess the Game Series
ITT: Guess the Game Series
The first one is Smash Bros.
Zelda has no chronology.
Second one is Mountain Blade
i would've said the second batch was mount & blade and bannerlord BUT IT'S COMING BOYS WE'RE GOING HOME
BANNERLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORD
I'm guessing the topmost one is Metal Gear Solid.
No. 3 didn't throw everything out to be original. It was more an improvement polishing and tweeks to 2. Also V was never marketed as a return to roots and is nothing like a blend of 2,3 and 4.
Maybe top is Devil May Cry?
>DMC 2 is an improvement over 1
No.
I think only DmC sucks ass, which isn't accounted for in the list
Topmost is 3D Sonic.
>Sonic Adventure lacks some QoL features but is still pretty solid on Dreamcast
>Sonic Adventure 2 improves on the original but doesn't strive for many new gameplay ideas
>Sonic Heroes threw out the old game design for team based gameplay
>Shadow the Hedgehog fucking sucks
>Sonic 06 was meant to be a return to form, but wound up pleasing nobody
how can there be a 0th game in a series?
Topmost could be Tekken.
I love 4 and hated 5 though.
3 doesn't fit in the description though.
Either a prequel game or literally has the number "zero" in the title.
>3 didn't throw everything out to be original. It was more an improvement polishing and tweeks to 2.
You haven't played the game, have you
I'm guessing the last one is Kingdom Hearts?
Why is there a 0th game OP? The fuck does that mean?
See
First row could be Starfox but it's one game short.
Is the last one Suikoden?
I'm not OP but I enjoy this shit so fuck it I got one.
>1 is basic platforming and shooting baddies and bosses.
>2 is the same thing, but more linear.
>3 is hailed as the best of the series because of the console it's on and that's probably it.
>4 is great, but rightfully ignored by fans because of a huge overhaul to the main character's iconic design.
Fuck this is probably too easy someone else do one
>1
GOOD GAME
>2
BAD GAME
should be easy
>First game is solid but suffers some iffy choices with controls. Regarded as comfy.
>Second game fixes those control issues and is still pretty damn comfy.
Top one is definitely Guitar Hero.
1. Guitar Hero 1
Okay, hammer ons and pull offs not made well since first game
2. Guitar Hero 2
Fixed the hammer ons and pull offs but didn't really do much, setlist was real good tho
3. Guitar Hero 3
Changed nearly everything, way better, added Battle Modes as a new co-op experience
4. Guitar Hero: World Tour
FUcking shit no one cares
5. Guitar Hero 5
No one knows what this game was going for, the setlist was pretty bad.
DQ Builders?
Yakuza series
Literally every 2-game series ever because Yea Forums is autistic and hates everything
Nope. I'll add that Yea Forums is very divided on whether they're good games. I personally love them but once you play 2, 1 gets hard to swallow.
if we're being honest, shadow deserves something less severe than "fucking sucks" and 06 deserves something more severe than "pleases no one"
First game is the adaptation of a setting from the 80s with great voice acting and decent gameplay.
its first expansion adds one more faction.
The second and third still cause fights as to which is the better game.
Sequel changes the gameplay, still keeps up the voice acting. Its expansions give more factions and finally release the one missing from the previous entry. The multiplayer AI is retarded.
The third game is a dumpster fire that seems to take nothing from the previous entries. And yet it could have been good.
>First game has soul, not in the shitty Yea Forums meme way. But it suffers some serious balance issues and everyone unanimously agrees that the bosses were bullshit.
>Second game fixes those issues but is quite obviously a cash grab. Bosses no longer have infinite super armor and are difficult in a more natural way.
sk
If that 2nd game was so good, then why wasn't there a third?
Don't know what sk means so no
Maybe 2 wrapped up the story. Not everything has to be a trilogy.
Top is Deus Ex
I'm not even sure what you'd consider SK1 in this case, but the problem with SK2 was that every boss knocked into the air would immediately ground-slam, making any sort of comboing on them impossible past just knocking them away and then starting from neutral. Also, absolutely shit camera. (but that's a series staple)
Shadow The Hedgehog has almost all of the Gameplay issues Heroes had, including those fucking HP bars. On top of having terrible mission design, a true ending that requires a stupid amount of repetitive playthroughs to get, and just to top it all off it retcons a much better game in the process. It deserves every bit of shit it gets.
Top is The Elder Scrolls series.
How in any way is the top ES?
everyone liked Oblivion,
Skyrim was never marketed as a "return to roots" and has no features from daggerfall, or morrowind.
I want to say the bottom is the Xeno series but that's only because I know Xenogears was supposed to be the fifth chapter. I didn't think the Xenoblade games were even related to the rest of them.
>nobody played the first two games
>boomers think the third is the best game ever made
>fourth is the definitive (franchise) experience
>fifth is dumbed down to sell to the normies but it's still alright
>Second one improved on the original
Uhh... I don't think so
Almost sounds like Breath of Fire, except that I'm not sure how anyone would consider Dragon Quarter to be dumbed down to sell to the general audience.
>everyone liked Oblivion,
>everyone
LOL
We made it
>5
>bad setlist
It was more diverse AND better at doing so than World Tour. You can only do so many classic rock/metal gauntlets before it wears thin.
1. Unpolished and lacking QoL stuff, but soulful and interesting enough to develop something of a cult following.
2. Improved in almost every way, but also streamlined a bit. Series become more well known and loved everywhere including Yea Forums.
3. Great success with scope and quality far above anything made before, but draws a lot of negativity, partially form contrarianism.
3.
>1. The Original, is the most focused on the core gameplay
>2. Improves on the core gameplay while also adding sections that strays from it
>3. To try and not be too much of a retread of the past games, the gimmicky sections start to over-saturate the game
This applies to more tan 1 trilogy
The Witcher series, 100% sure.
TES?
Fallout? Bit of a stretch, but works if you're exaggerating.
Half-life.
Sly
I was unsure about that one because of the gameplay shift from 1 and 2, but if you ignore that then yes.
There were 3 other trilogies I was thinking of.
Resident Evil series
Everyone always talks about 3
2 is never ever mentioned
1 is sometimes but not too often
Persona
I'm playing it right now
First row sounds a lot like the Shrek movies and the 5th would be a good prediction of what would happen if they made it.
Second is S.T.A.L.K.E.R maybe?
No idea of the third.
That's because Devil May Cry 2 sucked and we prefer not to remember it.
Resident Evil doesn't fit any of those. Most people praise RE4 and RE5 was certainly not "returning to the series' roots" with you shooting up most of the population of Africa.
RE2 is certainly not stuck in development hell given that its remake was just released.
RE4 does not take place before RE1. RE3 most certainly does not take place before the rest of the games.
>and has no features from daggerfall
Skyrim brought back radiant quests and regional crime tracking from daggerfall
Obviously Persona.
Crash Fucking Bandicoot
>1 and 2 are semi-forgotten retro vidya that were very edgy for the time
>3 is most famous for birthing a meme but it is also considered a cult classic
>4 takes elements from 3 but does its own thing, has some flaws related to the fact that it runs on a platform that is weaker than the one that 3 runs in
>5 is stuck in development hell
>also this series has a lot of spin-offs
I think I made it too easy
First one feels like Tekken but 5 is generally well liked by those who aren't retarded
1 is Wild Arms (?)
Sure you are.
First one's almost Paper Mario.
Shin Megami Tensei
I was surprised it took that long
Metroid? Up to Fusion, anyway.
>Keeping Eva Conscious
She always eats through all my food if I don't shoot and drag her
I just got there
Yeah, I think that nailed it. That sounds like Elder Scrolls from the perspective of someone braindead enough to like Oblivion.
For some reason I want to say fallout but I know that isn’t right.
It was DoW
What in the crispy fuck is that bottom series supposed to be?
The second one can't be Mount&Blade because there's Mount and Blade, Mount&Blade Warband and Mount&Blade: With Fire and Sword
unless OP is retarded
>no one played the first three
>the fourth one has awful gameplay design choices but has fans somehow
>fifth carries over some mechanics from the fourth but generally improves them
>sixth is the best and most popular but Yea Forums contrarians shit on it due to that
>Game (shorter title): 4th chronologically
>Game (shorter title) 2: 5th chronologically
>Game 1: 6th chronologically
>Game 2: 7th chronologically
>Game 3: 1st chronologically
>Game 4: 8th chronologically
>Game (Subtitle): 2nd chronologically
>Game 5: 3rd chronologically
Metal Gear
That can't be Final Fantasy because everyone and their mother sucks off VI like it's the second coming of Jesus.
>Game: Subtitle
>Game 2
>Game 3
>Game 4
>Game 5: Subtitle
>Game Subtitle
Crash but this applies to Spyro aswell
Halo?
Crash
Spyro
DKC
Metroid Prime
I think this applies to a lot of trilogies
Subtitle: Game
Game 2: Subtitle
Game 2: Other Subtitle
Game 3
Game 4
Game 5
Is this some weird post about resident evil from the perspective of a zoomer?
Persona
This, seriously what the fuck is it OP?
>1st game is groundbreaking
>2nd game is more like an expansion of the first game but it still works
>3rd is one of the most divisive entries, but is still recognized for the technology it brought forward
>4th is also divisive, but the view is tainted on both sides of the "it sucks" and "it is good" because of the time it took to come out
Doom perhaps.
>nobody remembers Game
>nobody remembers Game 2
>boomers love Game 3
>Game 4 is instantly fucking legendary
>everyone loves Game 5 and its co-op pve mode
>everyone REALLY loves Game 4: 2
>everyone loves Game: Subtitle and its co-op pve mode
>some people like Game 4: 3
>some people like Game: Subtitle 2
>no one likes Game: Other Subtitle
>no one likes Game: Other Other Subtitle
>some people like Game: Subtitle 3
>no one likes Game 4 Remastered
>no one likes Game: Other Other Other Subtle
>no one likes Not Game 5
>no one likes Game: Subtitle 4
Shadow is a spinoff, 06 fucking sucks, what would be the fifth one?
Is the bottom series the legacy of kain?
Then you are retarded. 2and 3 are nothing alike.
How are they nothing alike? Sure, the buttons are different, the setting is quite different yes, but it's all fundamentally the same, long story cutscenes, shit ton of dialogue, sneaking, fun secrets, how are they not alike?
1
>first game is a cult classic, considered to be one of the finest examples of it's niche
>games 2 and 3 are closer to expansion packs than full fledged sequels, with the 2nd generally being considered the worst while the 3rd is mostly well liked
>the 4th game has been in and out of development hell, with it being uncertain that it will ever actually come out
2
>game 1 is very obscure in the west, having to adopt a name similar to a more popular series it was inspired by to gain any attention at all
>game 2 is much more well known, but still pretty obscure. It is best played with a mod that comes with the game on steam.
First should be pretty easy for you faggots, will be somewhat surprised if anyone gets the second.
>no soliton radar
>muh realistic slow crawling in grass in irregular-shaped forest enviroments instead of fast-paced arcade stealth in rectangular military bases
>survival mechanics
Yeah, totally alike
First is mgs
Second is mount and blade?
Last is yakuza
