What CRPGs is Yea Forums playing this weekend? Other than the hit or miss performance on any given start up/entering a new zone. It's pretty gud.

Daggerfall Unity

I got tired of playing nothing but isometric games for a while so I played other games instead. Have a bump

Yeah man I enjoyed that one. Bit of a mess but the stuff it gets right is really cool.
I'm currently on my first playthough of New Vegas. It's not blowing my mind but I'm enjoying it ok.

Now that they fixed most of the bugs and other technical issues I'm convinced that Pathfinder Kingmaker is better than PoE2 and OS2.

I never finished Pillars of Eternity so I may go finish it someday so i can finally persuade myself to give Pillars 2 a try

Nok-Nok > Kaessi > Linzi > Harrim > Tristian > Valerie > Octavia > Jubilost > Amiri > Ekundayo > Regongar > Jaethal

Imagine how much better Regongar and Octavia would be without their obsession with sex and threesomes.

have they finally fixed glitchfinder bugmaker?

probably from all the gangbang she gets

Started the game 3 weeks ago, 90h played, encountered literally 1 bug that got fixed by just reloading into the zone.

harrim>>linzi>>jubilost>>amiri

Nope.

nok-nok is a fucking murder machine jesus christ

man i really want to plat pathfinder buit i just cant get used to that real time strategy sistem, i iwsh it was turn based, like fallout 2 or arcanum

You left someone out
Ember

pls pls pls don't fuck this up on switch nords

Console release when?

I finished planescape torment this week and was thinking of starting numenera but I hear it's pretty bad narrative wise, how is the gameplay?

There is a mod that makes it turn-based on nexusmods. I use it to play the game, its pretty good and is as close as we will get.

While I appreciate what the mod is trying to do it becomes very clear in a lot of encounters that the game wasn't designed with turn-based combat in mind.

It's garbage in every way, just skip it.

finished planescape and interested in starting Baldur's Gate, anything I should know first?

Yeah I agree but unfortunately its as close as we are gonna get. I feel ya though. With a crpg based on a tabletop rpg I want it to emulate the tabletop rpg experience.

Planescape Torment is story and dialogue focused, Baldur's Gate is combat focused. Magic is OP and ridiculously fun. Minsc is best boy, Viconia is best girl.

I really don't mind the RTwP combat here because it's so well made and reminds me a lot of the good old Baldur's Gate days.

Adding to this while magic is fun, it's more fun in the second game than the first. A good class for getting the most out of the series is a berserker dual classed to mage in the second game. Dual classing pretty much works the same as in Planescape expect you keep your old class's abilities.
Berserker will let you steamroll the first game.

>not playing exclusively Sorcerer

While sorcerer is the GOAT class I wouldn't recommend it to a first timer as you kinda have to be experienced in the BG magic system and know exactly which spells are good. More fun on a second playthrough

Game is a reload simulator. It wasn't designed for anything

Git gud.

Proper cRPGs are difficult games, now fuck off zoomer.

an ancient meme is not an excuse for poor design

Proper crpgs are also well-designed unlike this game.

the only thing correct about this is Nok-Nok being above everyone else

this game could have been really good since start if it werent for the real time battles

luckily the modding community saved the day

Explain how the game is badly designed.

Finished Arcanum, gonna start MotB.

Any crpg except the dullest one of all time. Each attempt Obsidian makes to create their own universe rather than simply deconstruct a setting made by others, has been more disastrous than the last. Aside from the outdated gameplay and lifeless cities, Pillars of Eternity's only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of combat mechanics, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Sawyer vetoed the idea of making anything at all innovative or original; he made sure the game would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody, just ridiculously profitable nostalgia pandering to ageing Baldur's Gate fans. Pillars of Eternity might be anti-casual(or not), but it’s certainly the anti-Divinity series in its refusal of spontaneity, fun and excitement.

>a-at least the writing was good though

"No!"

The writing is dreadful; the narrative was terrible. As I played, I noticed that every time I engaged in dialogue with an NPC the game presented me with a Wiki-page style infodump instead of anything resembling actual human conversation.

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time this was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Sawyer's mind is so governed by obsession with pointless minutiae of the lore that he has no other style of writing.

Later I read a lavish, loving review of Pillars of Eternity by the same David Gaider. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kiddies are playing Obsidian games at 17 or 18, then when they get older they will go on to enjoy Dragon Age II." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you play "Pillars of Eternity" you are, in fact, trained to shill for Bioware.

>"No!"

This but unironically.

It's sort of funny that they are in-verse sort of creepy though and people react to it

Tiefling and aasimar are cool races, but I thought they were like drow in that they receive social stigma due to being uncommon, foreign, and in the case of tiefling, literally part demon

What are some games like Might and Magic 6 or Daggerfall?

unironically git gud. The game isn't that hard

g

>like Might and Magic 6
Wizardry 6 to 8
>or Daggerfall?
Ultima Underworld

>>like Might and Magic 6
>Wizardry 6 to 8
Uhhh no?
