I hate this so much. I'm black, and the last Maru I would choose is what we got. The first Maru looks like a girl I like a long time ago. The second, 4th, and 5th are all cute and familiar looking to me. They look like actual mixed raced girls I knew.

Also, close up portraits only look bad, when the camera is actually 3 inches from your face. However, that is not the case here. These are just normal portraits, where the rest of their bodies are cut out.

The trick to getting a good headshot, is to move the camera back, and increase focal length to about 50mm.

Stardew looks decent but never played it for too long because the girls are puke-inducing, Rune Factory is the best modern incarnation of Harvest Moon for me, I can't wait for 5.

the problem with Stardew Valley is that its get boring after year 1. You can complete almost all of the content in year 1, then you just spend year 2 min-maxing, maxing out friendships, and since you're married at this point just completing any events you didn't have the chance to. And decorating your farm i guess. Its genuinely fun in the beginning, but loses its luster real fast

You can just call it the Harvest Moon formula I guess, I still find Year 2 and 3 genuinely fun to play, but with Year 4 I start to get less invested, so it's generally my dropping point.

I don't see it as a real problem though, many games have an ending, with Harvest Moon-type of games the ending is just you feeling fulfilled and moving on.
