Capcom sold Okami IP to Platinum.
Okami 2 started development by Platinum Games about a year ago.
Something went wrong and Platinum ended up buying IP altogether.
That's all I can give ya
Capcom sold Okami IP to Platinum
Okam should be worth more than 19 million...
>implying Kamiya ould put his company at risk like that
Did you forget that Okami was like a world record failure?
Capcom doesn't sell IPs.
they just did
*Capcom do not have a record of ever selling IP's
FTFY
Also they were not making any good decisions untill a few years ago.
I can see them realising that they have no use for Okami and getting more money than this IP ever earned while they still can, rather than having it collecting dust.
okami 2 already was made, learn to lie better
>half of the game hapens DURING okami 1
its okami 1.5
They didn't, they negotiated digital rights for distribution, that clickbait article even said that
I'd be unapologetically, incredibly, extremely happy if this were true.
Okami, while pretty, is super boring and I have no interest in another one
zoom zoom
Post yfw switch exclusive
downs downs
(You)
Here's the thing about this: They did not actually do this and will not.
Why?
Stop having wet dreams about hypotetical video games being exclusives to your platform of choice.
>implying i would be happy it was exclusive
okamiden being bankrolled completely goes in the face of that idea
>dev company holding on by a thread just a few years ago
>decide to buy a financial disaster IP just when you get out of the hole
get gud larper
If you think PlatinumGames is in the position to be buying intellectual properties from Capcom you have little to no understanding of the games industry.
It's not nice to lie on the internet user.
Also where's that fucking Direct?
truth hurts, huh?
all games are boring, retard. at least okami gives you something beautiful to look at.
>platinum has such low funds that every time they have one hit like nier on ps4, they immediately lose it all on 3 Nintendo exclusives that flop
>supposed to believe capcom of all people would sell an ip cheap even a dead one
At least say capcom publish and platinum devs
Finally playing this game and getting it off the backlog. It’s crazy how I keep forgetting this game is over 10 years old while I’m playing it. The art direction really kept it from aging, the gameplay still feels great , and the writing is really fun and filled with likable characters.
I see why this game gets all the praise it does. Gonna buy a physical copy tomorrow I’m enjoying it so much.
Was Okamiden a solid sequel? I’ve had a copy for years and plan on jumping right to it after beating Okami.
Okamiden's a great DS game (I liked it as a "Zelda" title better than I did Phantom Hourglass) but it doesn't hold a candle to the original. Almost all mobility is gone, it suffers even harder from brush techniques only being useful in the area where you acquired them, the localization is inconsistent with Okami's and partner characters can be annoying.
So it sounds like if I keep my expectations in check I’ll be in for an okay time. Kinda figured some sacrifices would be made with the step down to basically N64 hardware.
Yeah, just keep yourself from getting hyped and you'll enjoy it. I went in expecting "Okami sequel" and was disappointed, but it's a fine enough Zelda clone otherwise despite losing out on what made Okami unique in comparison.
So, Capcom sold them the IP and, after having bought the IP, Platinum went and bought the IP again? You're not making sense, OP.
>Platinum
>the company that was on the verge of shutting down
>having enough money to buy an IP
lmao that's a good fucking joke m8
the company that was in such a shit heap of failure that a fucking Yoko Taro game selling well bailed them out being able to buy anything lol
>Capcom sold Okami IP to Platinum.
>Something went wrong and Platinum ended up buying IP altogether.
So they had to buy the IP twice? LOL either they are retarded and thats why they were at the brink of bankruptcy, o r you are a fucking idiot who can't type a coherent paragraph.
