Installation of the collection isnt 100% necessary, you can still play without it, but you'll be redownloading every addon and gamemode the server has every time you load in. It's not a lot we have but it might get annoying. If you sub to the collection you'll only have to install the gamemodes we got.

why does the gunslinger even have the third consecutive hit crit anyway? Its pretty much never used, and is never the purpose of getting the gunslinger.
It's an unlisted downside. Unlike random crit capable wrenches, which can crit on more than every second swing and also crit as soon as the first attack, this one you literally cannot blow someone up out of nowhere, and your crit chance is only superior on nocrit servers.

I would like to try a map purge sometime, where we just go through each custom map and decide whether to keep it for next time or not.

I'd like to try it. supplement the stock maps for the abundant community created maps for the "serious" gameplay but keep the silly maps on a rotation that doesn't feel like they get tired out to keep things fresh
