>series sold well enough to localize FE >series is FE but fair and actually fun >no shoehorned gay romance simulators >no unneeded plot or cutscenes >pure guns, strategy, and AMERICA >gameplay actually requires skill and thinking instead of just letting the mary sue mc do all the work
>series was discontinued because they couldn't shoehorn more waifus into it
RIP Advance Wars, you had a good run while you were with us
series was shit after the first game dual strike was a fucking joke
Isaiah Baker
The first game was called Famicom Wars and you haven't played it.
Wyatt Reed
Why we got 89 FE characters and no AW characters is beyond me.
Michael Davis
It died because the game balance was fucked so hard it was barely a strategy game anymore and when they tried to fix it people cried.
Dominic Morgan
Ok, how about Days of Ruin's gameplay + Dual Strike's artstyle + more waifus?
Jaxson Nguyen
no one liked the tone switch on the ds games sorry dude, my wife lucina calls to me
Mason Brown
I think they'll start to cannibalize some of the AW mechanics into FE. Like how the battalions were a big part of three houses, I could see them doing some maps or modes where you use generic units.
Gavin Carter
Would be good but I think the series just bombed repeatedly in the east and was always on the brink of death to the point DoR was all it took to kill it.
Cameron Jones
Cant they focus on the west more now? Isn't that the reason why they hired Kozaki? His art with No More Heroes was a hit in the West which got him to work on Awakening/Fates
Joseph Torres
The Switch is a perfect time for a total Advance Wars reboot but they WILL have to waifu and self insert it up. The problem is there a demand for it. There's been a lot of Advance Wars style games release and none of them capture the charm of the gba games. I think it's dead to Nintendo.
Tyler Miller
Wargroove is still here
Jack Torres
let go user
Elijah Walker
It's hard to blame DoR sales in Japan when they never even released it for sale. They got it as a Nintendo Gold points reward eventually. DoR also did better than Duel Strike (the only true flop), and actually sold in the same ballpark as AW1 and 2.
AW has the exact same problem that F-Zero has. Nintendo want to reinvent the wheel but don't know how, despite the Star-Fox babies proving that all fans of franchises really want is more of the same.
Hudson Campbell
based DoR fixed literally everything but I can't hold it against you if you left the series at DS and never saw anything of it.
Ryder Rogers
>don't know how to shoehorn waifus in when then already have a solid starting point
Yeah but imagine the whole school gimmick of 3H in the Wars world. I just don't see how it'd work when they're not the ones fighting but are all commanding officers.
I want an Evangelion themed advanced war. Think about it
Gavin Martin
>Cant they focus on the west more now? After Treehouse, IS knows the West is a poisonous beast.
Dylan Mitchell
Military academy setting part 1 everything is a mock battle with VR/robot soldiers When real war starts in part 2 they're the only officers left against an invading force
For extra points, have part 1 have the artstyle of AW1 and part 2 have the DoR one
Levi Butler
i remember playing an evangelion flash game, it was like a mixture of chess/advance wars, it was awesome, you could chose playing with nerv or with angels and every piece had different attacks, it was in the very early 2000's and never saw it again
Julian Robinson
have all the games always enjoyed you AW sad that you probably won't be back
>the series just bombed repeatedly in the east
advance wars in japan in quite the story
1 + 2 were bundled and got a late release (2,5 years late) DoR never got a release aside from club nintendo rewards only thing i remember from DS is the jp toy soldier commercial
>When real war starts in part 2 they're the only officers left against an invading force Which would "work" if you couldn't just spawn units endlessly.
Camden Mitchell
>nintendies just pirate it dude
Kayden Stewart
>does the series even have an artbook? don't think so it's not like FE with all the artbooks
I'm not a fan of the physical commander unit desu. I really like how there's a lot of soft counters though. Really mixes up the strategy a lot.
Joseph Davis
there's already training modes in the game where you learn what a city is by having armies fight each other
Adam Gray
>RIP Advanced Wars
What do you think IS was working on while KT developed Three Houses?
Dominic Young
>Thieves No
Jonathan Myers
>KT developed Three Houses if by "developed" you mean "implemented". IS still designed the game.
Levi Lewis
the shitty phone game?
Owen Scott
what about a gacha game?
Brayden Butler
Please no
Levi Lewis
That was just war room mode. It's honestly very basic and unbalanced.
Owen Rivera
Combine the 3H story with Colin. The students are heirs to powerful families and are learning to command their personal battalions. The maps can have stories like the 3H paralogues, where it focuses on one or two characters at a time.
Liam Barnes
Andy for smash!
Elijah Phillips
after byleth!
Robert Miller
>gameplay actually requires skill and thinking instead of just letting the mary sue mc do all the work lol
Joseph Morales
Which one? Max made AW1 a walk in the park and 2 had some OP stuff too while DS was stupid with the amount of OP stuff, Days of Ruin was the only one that required skill and thinking
It worked for DoR which was literally post-apocalyptic straight up Mad Max shit.
Lincoln Bennett
Should have stolen a better argument along with your games thief.
Christopher Rivera
I am still convinced that the Switch will receive a new Wars game before its time is up.
Kevin Perry
This old motherfucker just summoned a 9HP Mech on every controlled city, now has economy and unit advantage and is coming to slap your HQ on the arse. What do you do?
The world may be broken but there are still lives to be saved. Where there's life, there's hope. It's legitimately worth your time, it's the only game IS has ever made that has actual working Fog of War.
Back when you could make a butch commander with short hair and broad shoulders and she looked like a unique character rather than a box to tick for pandering
God, all of the new units in DoR, from Flares to Anti-Tank units to Bikes to Dusters to Rigs that could build temporary docks/airstrips, they added so many great tools to mess around with.
Xavier White
tinywars.online is basically AWBW for DoR.
Anthony Rivera
>series is FE but fair and actually fun >but fair Every fucking time. Random crits suck, but I don't think there's ever a time in any FE game (outside of the highest difficulties of the newer games like Lunatic+ or something) where you are actually forced into a situation where you have to face a low percent crit. There's always a way to game the system in your favor and avoid that sort of thing. >But FE is shit regardless. Quite frankly I don't care. I just need you fags to accept that the games aren't actually all that unfair.
You can just mod out the tumblr noses. The singleplayer campaign is decent (starts of way too slow with the tutorial shit though). Avoid multiplayer because spear spam is overpowered.
Grayson Butler
I remember played this as kid. It was frustating and often stuck on campaign (giant missile silo, bomber fighter assault and gigantic laser) and Few years later i emulate it and won easily using Hawk 2nd special
Sometimes unfair is fun. I like a few FE games but like AW more. I used to challenge myself to give Flak the top rank in my War Room battles since his cuhrayzee damage modifier forced you to compensate for those inconsistencies.
Grayson Fisher
>"If you kill me you'll be just like me" trope >someone else promptly kills him instead
Angel Clark
You're a fucking joke.
Chase Sullivan
I don't get why AWfags blame Fire Emblem for is discontinuing. If the fact that Intelligent Systems threw a massively beloved series like Paper Mario under the bus and blamed Miyamoto for it's failures doesn't show you that they're failing as a company, then I don't know what will.
Fire Emblem is their safest franchise for making huge and easy profit. Only late-20s bloomers remember AW and Paper Mario at this point. Plus it doesn't help that Nintendo doesn't believe in ports that could easily generate hype for some dumb fucking reason.
>switch library is nothing but ports >yet only wiiu ports it's not fair
Jeremiah Thomas
Sorry but starfox needs to become like starlink or everspace, anything different will be shit, starfox 64 already had parts that weren't on rail shooter, like the first boss which also was the best one.
