the game's mechanics are too shit and basic to begin with to make it an interesting fight, it just comes off as silly

But that's like, your opinion, man. I like the way special combat encounters are done in the mod because they try to add variety. Some may be more interesting or fun than others, but nothing is too over the top for a simple game like this as you say.

None of the fights have more complexity than a Ceraph or minotaur king from vanilla. Just because it's new and you have to logically think for some or read the text (like with Ceraph's special move) doesn't mean it doesn't work in this game even if it's basic as fuck.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand the /hgg/ mod. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also the Dullahan's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into her characterisation- her personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike /hgg/ truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in the Dullahan's existential catchphrase "TEH HARBINGER OF DOOOOOM!" which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as the genius wit of fighting seven faceless, obtuse and badly-written enemies unfolds itself on their computer screens before giving them a one-sentence-long Bad End. What? You get a really good item of your choice if you beat the tower and if you come back later to beat the wizard guy you'll get the most broken spell in the game.

It gives a reward for a melee build and even then you can still overpower and whittle it down with magic due to how the mechanics of the golem fight where it only regenerates 1000 health every time you run and re-encounter it.

The Helia thing was a problem because it was implemented before there were established proofreaders in the thread (I remember there being four in total but I could be wrong due to the anonymous nature) which it desperately beeded for both grammar and consistency with the character.

There were people on both sides of the cuck argument using it as an opportunity to completely drown out the threads which even led to a new vol position opening up.
