call of duty games have always been shit with ground war type modes, they have a very specific and niche arcade playstyle that doesn't accomodate larger player numbers. Shit is annoying because of how the maps are designed, you'll eventually die because there is no way to really navigate without eventually dying to somebody flooding in from behind you

Akimbo M9's in MW2, never had as much fun in any other shooter as when I ran around and used those with C4. No other shooter has akimbo pistols that are useable

aek was shit at anything beyond 50 meters. also had horrendous recoil. M16A3 had that shit down with manageable recoil, a fast but not too fast RPM and the potential to have it right at the start of the game.
