Why are you susprised? You only need a limited amount of healing but you want to produce as much damage as possible. In games where party sizes aren't fixed you do this by dropping healers in favor of dps.

That is a problem of the game. There are few places where you are taking a lot of damage, if your party is doing things right. Healing is just attempting to erase someone else's mistakes. The fewer mistakes a party makes, the more time for DPS there is. Healing in this game is the least important due to the way fights are designed and you should seek to minimize wasted time.

Xenoglossy being instant cast gives us more mobility. Sharpcast having a 30s CD allowing you to throw out procs on the move gives us more mobility. Umbral soul gives us more mobility. Hell, the even longer AF/UI timers gives us more room to fuck about for shit like, I don't know, mobility. All that shit adds up. I don't even know what you're trying to argue about anymore.

I play with 220 ping. You just gotta play as if you were 1 second ahead of everyone, such as moving out of AoEs earlier. Also avoid Ninja, Dancer, Machinist and Monk.

Lining up big CDs with raid buffs,combos with satisfying rotations,sick visuals and the high skillcap keeps me coming back even though I feel like I'm alone in actually enjoying this game's combat. All of the gatherers can make loadsamoney, there are several strategies to be employed here. Level slowly and sell what you gather. Even low level mats have a market. Or power level and sell high end resources. There are even rare materials that spawn every 30m-1h so it helps keep it at a certain value. All crafting also requires elemental crystals, and you really burn through them fast if you do a lot of crafting. Even mass crystal farming can be profitable if you want to play that market too.

BLM since ARR here. I thundercloud when I have to move, and Aetherial Manipulation macro helps for ignoring mechanics as long as you can as long as the other player isn't bad. Playing BLM is essentially just playing chicken with mechanics as long as you can and knowing. Learn to slide cast and become intimate with your internet connection.
